Phyre Gunner: The Spy (Editing Process)

Phyre Gunner. Teenager. Rebel. Spy. Troublemaker. Genius. American. Genetically Perfect.

After the passing of her father, Phyre became the imperfect daughter. After too many detentions and schools, LSA comes looking for the one person that can help them save the world, the same person that is genetically perfect, Phyre Gunner.

11. Adam

I laid my head on the desk, whilst the teacher explained something so easy, that I thought we were back in Kindergarden.

“Bored?” I heard Adam ask and I lifted my head turning to face him.

“Obvious don’t you think?” I replied rolling my eyes at him.

“What are you going to do at the office?” Adam questioned.

“I don’t know.” I replied. “I already finished the reports Mr. Right wanted. I assume he is going to ask me to finish some of my father’s projects.”

“Sounds fun.” Adam smile. “Pretty sure I’m going to be stuck with mail again today.”

“Why are you going to be stuck with mail?” I asked.

“Because as your father is not here anymore, I have nowhere to work.” Adam explained. “And they don’t think that sending junior LSA on field work is a good idea.”

“Bullshit.” I said. “Just because my father isn’t here you need to be the mail man. I’m going to need work, and I don’t think that Michael would want to help me.”

“So you are asking me to help you?” Adam asked with a grin.

“I’m going to ask Mr. Right to let you help me.” I agreed.

School was always boring, and for some odd reason, Adam followed me around for the whole day, which lead me to understand that we have the same classes.

After school, I went back home with Tyler, and when he was out of sight, I escaped to the office. Tyler knew that I had to be there working, but he had asked me to accompany him back to the house today, if you ask me why, I would pay you for the answer, cause I didn’t know it myself.

“What took you so long Ms. Gunner?” Mr. Right asked as I stepped inside my father’s office.

“Tyler asked me to go back home with him.” I replied. “I had to sneak out.”

“I think that Tyler saw the fact that you seem tired.” Mr. Right replied. “Is everything all right?”

“Yes, sir.” I replied. “I think I’m just trying to adjust.”

“I understand you are trying to get a helper.” Mr. Right said.

“Yes, I mean, I was wondering if maybe Adam could help me with my father’s projects as he was helping him before you know.” I replied.

“Brilliant idea.” Mr. Right agreed. “I’ll have him work with you.”

“Thank you sir.” I replied.

“I need a full report on today’s project.” Mr. Right said. “I know you might not finish, but I need a report on what you have.”

“Right away.” I replied and he left the office.

Adam came seconds later with a stupid grin on his face. I was only doing this because of him. He was the one who wanted to help me. I was fine dealign with everything myself.

Adam and I started working on the first project that was almost done. Whilst he was searching for the missing information, I was working on the report, he was a very good helper. Maybe this thing about having him to help me wasn’t going to be as bad as I thought.

I just wish I am going to be send to field work.
