Safe And Sound (Triquel to Red)

"Elizabeth Ashton was more that just a girl to me. She was my best friend, she was the love of my life, she was my light. Since the day I met her when we were 5 years old there hasn't been a single day that I didn't love her. Without her, I wouldn't be the man I am today. She taught me so many things. She taught me to never give up on myself and to never let anyone tell me who I am, who I want to be. She taught me to believe in myself even when no one else did. Through the 15 years that I knew her, just the thought of her made me smile. Now I can't help but look back on all of the memories we made. The pillow fights, the sleep overs, the ghost stories. She made me happier than anyone else ever could. She put a smile on my face even when I was on the verge of tears and she always knew what to say. So much of the world knows Elizabeth Ashton as the girl who broke free from her past and created a future...

54. Two Can Play This Game

***Beth's POV***

I sat at the table scrolling through my phone, not much conversation being exchanged. Every so often Liam and I would look up and smile at each other but then go back to whatever we were doing. Today had sorta been like a lazy day for us. It had now been two weeks since we officially announced our engagement and the media was going crazy.

"So I had an idea..." Liam trailed off.

"And what is that?" I asked, not talking my eyes off of my phone.

"July 30th." He smiled.

I looked up from my phone, my eyes on him.

"For what? The wedding?" I asked.

"Yeah. It had a lot of significance." He told me.

I thought for a moment. Soon a smile spread across my face. "Was that the day... the day we practically confessed to each other that we had loved the other the whole time. And our first kiss. And our first night as a couple?"

He nodded.

"Oh my god. Liam. You're a genius. July 30th is perfect." I smiled.

He pulled me into his lap and kissed my temple.

"That’s what I thought. And even if it has been more than six years, the kisses still feel as powerful as the first." He told me.

I smirked. "Really? So this one feels like the first?" I asked, kissing him.

"Mhm." He mumbled against my lips.

I kissed him again. "And that one?"

"Yep." He grinned.

"And that one, and that one, and that one?" I asked, pressing his lips to mine each time.

"In fact, each one gets better and better." He told me.

I smiled and laid my head on his shoulder. "I love you so much. God, seriously. Before I met you I had always dreamed of growing up and marrying prince charming. I never thought I would be here today in the arms of my very own prince charming, my best friend, the love of my life."

"And I wouldn't have it any other way." He told me, kissing my lips softly.

My phone rang in my pocket and I took it out and saw that it was Grace. I clicked answer.

"Let me guess, you've scheduled me for yet another interview..." I trailed off.

"Close. I got a call from three bridal magazines saying they want you on the cover. In Style Weddings, Modern Bride and Brides." She told me.

"Really?" I asked.

"Yeah. I mean, you and Liam are the biggest celebrity couple right now. Of course they want you on the cover." She told me.

"Alright. Tell them I'll do it." I told her.

"I will. Also you have two interviews scheduled for next week, one radio and one TV." \She told me.

I groaned. "What, they haven't gotten enough information on the engagement? Seriously."

"They won't just be asking about the engagement. They'll be asking about your upcoming album which by the way Simon wants you to come in and talk with him about." She informed me.

"Grace I haven't even begun thinking about writing songs. I'm going to be caught up with planning the wedding anyway. The only thing Liam and I have down is the date and that’s not even set in stone." I told her.

"Alright. I'll have a talk with Simon about it. For now just take it slow and don't go all bridezilla." She told me.

I laughed. "I wont go all bridezilla. Don't worry."

"Good. Alright. I've gotta go but I'll fill you in on those photo shoots and interviews." She told me.

"Alright. Bye Gracieeeee." I grinned.

I hung up the phone and set it on the counter, turning back to Liam.

"So?" He asked.

"Three bridal magazines already want me on the covers. I've also got two interviews next week." I sighed.

"Three magazines?" He gaped.

I nodded. "I know. Who would want me on the cover on their magazine?" I asked.

"Everyone. I mean, you're absolutely beautiful. You have an amazing body and you always look like you've stepped right out of a magazine. Who wouldn't want you on the cover?" He smiled.

I lightly hit his chest. "Okay stop being such a sweetheart. How am I supposed to compete with that?"

"No need. I only say the truth." He told me.

I pressed his lips to mine and my arms went around his neck. His grip on my waist tightened and he pulled me closer.

"I love you so damn much." He mumbled against my lips.

"I love you too." I smiled.

For a while we just sat there in each others arms, no words spoken. Just silence. Finally I spoke.

"Have you picked your groomsmen and best man yet?" I asked him.

"Yes I have. What about you? Have you picked your bridesmaids and maid of honor?" He asked.

"I know who my bridesmaids are. El, Miranda, Emily and Perrie. I just don't know which one to pick as my maid of honor." I sighed.

"Well Niall, Harry and Zayn are my groomsmen and Louis is my best man." He told me.

"Louis? So Harry was actually right?" I asked. "I mean, you two were at each other's throats like a month ago."

"Yeah but I'm not just thinking about me. When I picked my best man I was thinking about who really helped us out, who helped me out and most of all was there for you when I wasn't. Louis was there from the moment you two met. He was there when your father almost murdered us in your house, he was there when you and I had fights. He was there when you and I broke up, he stayed with you when no one else did. He stayed by your side the whole time. Without him, I may not have you here right now." He told me.

“He also knew I loved you before you did. He figured it out on his own but I made him promise not to tell anyone." I smiled.

"So that was what you two were keeping from me?" He asked.

I nodded. "I think I'm going to pick El as my maid of honor then. I love them all equally but El has been like my sister."

"I think she'll love that. Louis told me that El hasn't stopped talking about plans for the wedding." Liam smirked.

"I'll tell her when I can get all the girls together." I told him. "For now its just you and I."

He pressed his soft pink lips to mine and I smiled as electricity shot through me.

"Still feeling it." He smiled.

I kissed him one more time.

"So, what do you think about colors for the wedding?" I asked.

"Well knowing you, you're going to pick a pink or baby blue." He smiled.

“How did you know?” I asked.

“I have no idea. Its not like I’ve known you for 18 years and know every single little thing about you.” He smirked sarcastically.

“You don’t know everything about me.” He smiled.

“Sure about that?” He asked.

“I bet you don’t know the exact time I was born.” I said.

“11:11 pm on February 11th 1994.” He stated.

I raised my eyebrows. “My first word?”

“Mummy.” He said.

I narrowed my eyes at him. I just sat there looking at him. “Ok I’m just going to sit here staring at you while I think of something you might not know.”

“Just admit it. I know everything about you. Full name, Eizabeth Leah Ashton. Birthday, February 11th 1994. Favorite color, baby blue and pink. Favorite song, Part of Me, has been since we heard it on the radio driving to school. Favorite number, 11. Favorite season, summer. Favorite person, me.” He grinned.

I hit his chest. “Oh don’t be so modest. Maybe you aren’t my favorite person.”

“Who is your favorite person then?” He asked.

I thought for a moment. “Louis.”

He smirked. “Oh, can Louis do this?” He asked, kissing me passionately.

“I’m sure he could. I wouldn’t want him to though.” I told him.

“Could he make you feel so much passion with just one touch?” He whispered in my ear, slowly rubbing circles on my lower back with his thumb.

“Maybe. I’ve never tried.” I whispered back.

“Can he make it so that you forget everything just by whispering to you?” He whispered in my ear, his hot breath on my neck.

He placed a soft kiss right behind my ear and I let out a small moan.

“No.” I whispered, finally giving in.

His lips slowly moved up my neck and finally connected with my lips. My hands went around his neck and ran though his hair. I could feel his tongue begging for entrance but I denied it. He let out a little groan.

“I don’t give in easily. You should know that.” I whispered against his soft lips.

“Oh I know it. I just don’t choose to accept it.” He whispered back.

He lifted me up, his hands under my thighs. Not breaking the kiss he stood up and walked over to the counter, setting me down. His arms held firmly onto my waist as he kissed me with full passion and my fingers tangled into his hair. His tongue kept begging for entrance but each time I denied it.

“You have no idea how sexually frustrated you make me.” He whispered quietly.

“Oh I know. Its all part of the fun.” I smirked.

He brought his lips to mine but this time slowly kissed me. I could feel a tingle each time his lips left mine, leaving me wanting more.

“Two can play this game.” He whispered.

“But only one can win.” I whispered back.

He picked me up again, his hands under my thighs. Out lips didn’t part as he brought me out of the kitchen and into the living room where he laid me down and straddled me. His hands went on either side of my body and my legs were still wrapped tightly around his torso. He kissed me hungrily but I still failed to give in.

“Being difficult are we?” He muttered.

“Its all part of the game.” I grinned.

He brought his lips to mine and gave me slow kissed filled with such passion. He hands went under my shirt a little and held onto my bare waist. His thumbs rubbed my skin and I felt electricity shoot though me with each movement he made. That was when I finally gave in. I rolled on top of him, straddling him with my legs and kissing him with full on passion. Our tongues danced as his grip on my waist tightened. Just as Liam was about to pull up my shirt my phone rang. I ignored it and my shirt went over my head, revealing my black lacey bra. I grabbed hold of Liam’s shirt and slipped it over his head and my hands ran up his toned body. Liam smashed his lips to mine and pulled me close to him. I heard my phone ring again and this time I pulled away from Liam and answered it.

“Hello?” I asked, almost out of breath.

“Did we interrupt something? You seem pretty out of breath.” Louis said, I could hear the smirk in his voice.

“Shut up you dirty minded boy. I just went for a run.” I told him.

As I talked Liam slowly kissed up and down my neck.

Sure, a run.” I could hear Miranda say in the background.

“So we were wondering if you and Liam were free right now to discuss plans?” Louis said.

Liam took the phone from my hand and put it to his ear. “We’re a bit busy at the moment but we’ll stop by later.”

And with that Liam hung up the phone and went back to kissing me.

“That wasn’t very nice.” I smirked.

“They’ll get over it.” He muttered against my lips.

***Louis’s POV***

I heard the line go dead and I took my phone away from my ear and stared at it for a second.

“Did he… he just hung up on me. Running my ass.” I smirked.

“Well at least we know they have a healthy relationship.” Emily said.

“We can tease them about it later when they come over.” Harry grinned.

If they come over.” Perrie smirked.

“So has Liam said anything about his best man?” Miranda asked.

“Yeah he picked Louis.” Niall told her.

Miranda looked at Harry.

“I told you so. You owe me 20 pounds.” Harry grinned.

She sent him a playful glare. “But you’ll let it slide because you love me.”

“Don’t you wish.” He smirked.

“Has Beth chosen her maid of honor?” Zayn asked.

Emily shook her head. “We think it’s going to be El though because she won’t shut up about everything that has to do with the wedding.”

“Well I think its going to be Mir or Em because she’s known them the longest.” El stated.

“El honey, we may have known her since forever but you’re like her best friend.” Miranda told her.

“I agree. You two are the closest.” Emily said.

She rolled her eyes. “Whatever you say babe.”

“So while we don’t have Liam and Beth here why don’t we talk about their engagement party?” Niall suggested.

“Lets have it on the beach. It’ll be a surprise though. We have all of their friends and family members there.” El suggested.

Soon we were all caught up in planning the part that we didn’t notice hours had gone by. Soon we heard the front door open and Liam and Beth walked in.

“Well look who finally decided to show up.” I smirked.

“How was your run?” Harry asked, a smirk on his face.

Beth narrowed her eyes at him. “It was fine thank you.”

Liam and Beth walked into the living room and took seats, Liam sat next to Harry and Beth sat with the girls.

“So, have you decided on your maid of honor yet?” Perrie asked.

“Getting straight to the point are we?” Beth asked. “And yes I have. Before I announce who it is I just want you four to know that I love you equally and you are like my sisters that I wish I had. I thought about it a lot and I decided it should be El.” She smiled.

“Told you.” Miranda grinned.

El squealed and hugged Beth. “Oh course I’ll be your maid of honor.”

“Good. Well now that that is out of the way we have also decided on a date for the wedding.” Liam spoke.

“July 30th.” Beth told us.

“Is that the day you two finally got together?” Niall asked.

They nodded.

“That’s perfect actually. It gives us time to plan everything out slowly.” Perrie said.

Beth nodded. “Theres still a lot of planning to do but how about for tonight we just set everything aside and just hang out.”

“I agree. I mean, after the wedding we might not have time to do stuff like this. Liam and Beth will be married and I’m sure you two will want to start a family.” They both blushed at that. “We’ll have our tours and other stuff. We’re growing up and we won’t have time for our random movie nights.” Miranda said.

“Yeah. Lets have nights like these while we can. They won’t last forever.” I said.

Tonight lets get some, and live while we’re young.” Niall sang.

“I’m pretty sure Liam and Beth already did but the second part yeah.” I smirked.

Beth looked at me, her jaw dropped. She hopped off of the couch and tackled me.

“Louis William Tomlinson I am going to chop your dick off and feed it to Satan if you make one more comment like that.” She told me.

Everyone bust out laughing.

“Liam! Ah! Help me. Get her off of me!” I gasped.

“You get what you deserve.” He laughed.
