Safe And Sound (Triquel to Red)

"Elizabeth Ashton was more that just a girl to me. She was my best friend, she was the love of my life, she was my light. Since the day I met her when we were 5 years old there hasn't been a single day that I didn't love her. Without her, I wouldn't be the man I am today. She taught me so many things. She taught me to never give up on myself and to never let anyone tell me who I am, who I want to be. She taught me to believe in myself even when no one else did. Through the 15 years that I knew her, just the thought of her made me smile. Now I can't help but look back on all of the memories we made. The pillow fights, the sleep overs, the ghost stories. She made me happier than anyone else ever could. She put a smile on my face even when I was on the verge of tears and she always knew what to say. So much of the world knows Elizabeth Ashton as the girl who broke free from her past and created a future...

52. Planning

***Beth's POV***

-1 Week later-

"Liam, babe, get your arse up. The boys will be here any minute now and you don't want them dragging you out of bed." I told him, trying to wake him up.

He and I had gotten back a few days ago and today him and the boys were going to have some guy time while the girls and I start planning.

He groaned. "I don't wanna get up."

"I know you don't but you have too. You know how Louis is. He's like a kid in a candy factory when it comes to waking you boys up." I smiled.

He slightly opened his eyes. "But you can protect me from him."

I gave him a small kiss. "Get up Liam. Don't call me complaining about how Louis jumped on your little friend." I smiled.

I began walking out of our room, my heels clicking on the wood floor.

"I love you too!" He called, slightly amused.

I rolled my eyes and stuck my head back in the door.

"I love you and if you really love me you'll get up." I smiled.

I walked downstairs just as the boys walked in, the girls on their trail.

"Look at you all ready to go." Harry smirked.

I rolled my eyes. "I may be ready but guess who isn't."

"Trouble waking him up?" Louis grinned.

"I swear to god, its like getting a teenager up for school when it comes to him." I groaned. "I've been nagging him for the past hour and a half."

Louis grinned. "We'll take care of this. Don't worry."

As the boys rushed upstairs I turned to the girls.

"Love makes us do crazy things huh?" Mir smiled.

I nodded. "Sure does."

"Now lets get going. This house won't be calm for much longer." I smiled.

Moments later we heard the shouts and groans from a certain boy. It had only been a few seconds after when Liam came running downstairs groaning, holding it where it hurts.

"Aw did someone get a boo boo?" I cooed.

"I should listen to you more often." He groaned.

I put my hand on his cheek. "You've learned the hard way haven't you."

The boys who had come down after Liam chuckled.

"Now go get an ice pack. Eat some breakfast and get dressed. I don't want to get a call from the boys saying you haven't done what I said." I told him.

"I think we've figured out who has the balls in their relationship." Louis smirked.

"Yeah, me. Obviously." Liam said, still clutching his pants.

I smirked at him. "Whatever floats your boat babe." I turned and walked with the girls to the door. "Don't get into too much trouble boys!" I called over my shoulder.

I shut the door behind me and the girls and I got into my car.

"God, just imagine what it'll be like when you two are married." Emily laughed.

"Its all good fun." I smiled as I pulled out.

"So have you and Liam thought about dates for the wedding yet?" Perrie asked.

I shook my head. "We've only been engaged, what,a week now? No need to rush it. We've got all the time in the world."

For the rest of the car ride we sang along to the songs on the radio... that is of course if your definition of singing is screaming. We weren't exactly loud. Finally we pulled into Starbucks and we got out. After we ordered our drinks we took seats around a table inside. Eleanor picked up her bag and took out a stack of bridal magazines. She plopped them down on the table and I picked up the first one on the stack. The other girls each grabbed a magazine too and we began looking through them.

"Ooh Beth, look at this dress." Emily squealed, showing me a dress in her magazine.

"Too poofy." I stated.

I went back to my magazine and saw a few pretty dresses but none of them really caught my eyes.

"Do you have an idea of what you want you wedding color to be?" Perrie asked, not looking up from her magazine.

I shrugged. "Light pink, magenta, baby blue. Liam and I will decide on that though."

After looking through magazines and talking for about an hour my phone rang and I saw that it was Liam. I smiled and picked it up.

"I thought we agreed last night not to call each other while we were out today." I smiled.

"I know its just that the lads think we should just settle on a date for the wedding soon so that we can get everything covered." He told me.

I thought for a moment. "I'd say August 20th but thats the day we got engaged." I said.

"Yeah I know. I was thinking that too. The lads were thinking June 2nd because that wast the day we saw you for the first time in two years but its not significant enough." He told me.

"Yeah I agree with you. We'll talk about this later okay? We still have a ton of time to decide." I told him.

"Alright. I love you. I'll talk to you later." He told me.

"I love you too. Bye." I smiled.

I hung up the phone and set it on the table.

A few minutes later Emily spoke up.

"So have you through about who you want your bridesmaids and maid of honor to be?" Emily asked.

I set my magazine down in my lap. "Well obviously you four. I just don't know who to pick out of you four to be my maid of honor. I love all four of you." I groaned.

"Why don't you wait for Liam to pick his best man so that the pair can match up?" Perrie suggested.

"Harry thinks its going to be Louis." Miranda shrugged.

"Seriously? Only a month ago the two were at each other's throats." I pointed out.

"I know. Thats what I said. He still thinks its Louis." She told me.

"What do you wanna bet Liam is in the same situation as you. He can't choose between the four boys." Emily said.

"Thats probably true. The five of them have literally been joined at the hip for the past eight years." El told us.

I nodded. "Well he and I will discuss that later. Along with a ton of other stuff."

"Well lets discuss something that the boys aren't a part of." El grinned.

"What would that be?" I asked.

"Your bachelorette party." She squealed.

"We woud have to do something that either the press wouldn't find out about or something thats clean." I told her.

"Well the girls and I were thinking Disneyland by day and partying by night." She told me.

I raised my eyebrows. "Disneyland? I actually like it."

We did a little bit more planning before walking out of Starbucks and out to the car. As soon as we walked out we were mobbed by paps, lights flashed and I could hear the sound of camera clicks.

"Shit." I muttered.

Liam and I had not yet gone public with our engagement and if the press even got a picture of my ring rumors would sprout. We quickly got into the car and pulled out. I let out a deep breath and began to drive.

"What if they got a picture of the ring?" Miranda asked.

I sighed. "Then Liam and I go public." I kept my eyes on the road. "Okay, where too now?"

"The mall. We're going shopping." Perrie told me.

"The thing we also need to discuss is your bridal shower and your engagement party." El told me.

"We'll plan all of that soon. For now lets just focus on shopping." I told her.

***Liam's POV***

We all sat around the kitchen counter discussing and planning.

"So what do you want to do for your bachelor party?" Louis asked, a sly grin on his face.

I sat back in my chair and thought about that for a moment.

"I want to go to America. I know that." I told them.

'Well theres always the classic Vegas, theres California where we could go to beaches and stuff. Theres New York City..." Harry began naming places.

"We want this to be awesome though. These are going to be Liam's last few days as an unmarried man." Zayn told us.

Louis looked down at his phone and smirked. "You'll never guess where the girls are going."

"Where?" I asked.

"Disneyland." Louis smirked.

"Well if I know Beth then I know she'll probably be partying all night then going to Disneyland during the day." I told them.

"Fun yet edgy. Thats what we want. We can't let the girls beat us on this." Louis told me.

I smiled. "Don't worry. We wont."

It was only minutes later that my phone began buzzing like crazy with notifications. I looked at them all and cursed.

@CassidyStyles12: OMFG. @Real_Liam_Payne, is that an engagement on @ElizabethAshton 's finger?????!!!!!

@AyeItsAsh: ELIAM IS ENGAGED?! OMG I KNEW IT.

I dropped my phone back onto the table and sighed, leaning my head back.

"What?" Harry asked.

"The paps got pictures of the ring. The story is officially out. Liam Payne and Elizabeth Ashton are engaged." Zayn read off his phone.

A few minutes later I got a call from Beth.

"The whole world now knows we're engaged. Perfect." Beth said as soon as I picked up.

"Babe its only a rumor until we confirm it." I told her.

"I know but still. I'm already getting death threats." She groaned.

"Don't listen to them." I told her.

"I'm not. Grace just sent me a text saying how many interview requests she's gotten in the past five minutes." She told me.

"We don't have to confirm anything until we're ready." I told her.

"I know." She sighed. "We'll figure it out later okay?"

"Okay." I replied.

"I love you. See you later." She said.

"I love you too. Bye." I replied.

I hung up the phone and set it on the table.

"So?" Niall asked.

"The story is all over the internet now. People want interviews. I guess this is what happens when famous people get engaged." I sighed.

"And its a double hit because both you and Beth are famous singers." Louis pointed out.

I nodded. "We'll figure this all out."

Even if planning a wedding and everything else is not a piece of cake I wouldn't give up marrying Beth for anything. I love her and thats all that matters.
