Safe And Sound (Triquel to Red)

"Elizabeth Ashton was more that just a girl to me. She was my best friend, she was the love of my life, she was my light. Since the day I met her when we were 5 years old there hasn't been a single day that I didn't love her. Without her, I wouldn't be the man I am today. She taught me so many things. She taught me to never give up on myself and to never let anyone tell me who I am, who I want to be. She taught me to believe in myself even when no one else did. Through the 15 years that I knew her, just the thought of her made me smile. Now I can't help but look back on all of the memories we made. The pillow fights, the sleep overs, the ghost stories. She made me happier than anyone else ever could. She put a smile on my face even when I was on the verge of tears and she always knew what to say. So much of the world knows Elizabeth Ashton as the girl who broke free from her past and created a future...

67. 20 Days

***Beth's POV***

-4 Months Later-

20 days. Thats how long until the wedding. Just 20 days. Its incredible how quickly everything passes in a matter of four months. In 20 days I'll be married to Liam. In 20 days, it will be the happiest day of my life. And I couldn't wait.

"Almost ready?" Liam asked, coming into our room.

I turned away from my suitcase which I was currently packing and nodded.

"Yep. Almost done." I smiled.

He came and sat down next to my suitcase which was sitting on the bed.

"I'm going to miss you. I can't believe I actually agreed on a week long bachelor party." He groaned.

I gave him a small smile. "Well look at the bright side, when we get back we'll have all the time in the world to ourselves."

He pulled me close to him so that I was standing in between his legs. His arms were wrapped around my waist and my arms were around his neck.

"Yeah, but a week without you. And the worst part is is that they're taking our phones away so we can't contact each other." He said solemnly.

"I agree, I'm going to hate that." I sighed.

"At least in the end I get to marry you." He grinned.

I kissed him softly and smiled. "Thats the best part."

He sighed. "Well I'll help you finish packing. We don't want to miss our flights."

I nodded silently and he stood up. I went back to placing things into my suitcase.

"Can you grab my shampoo and conditioner from the bathroom?" I asked him.

"Yeah." He replied.

He walked into the bathroom and moments later he walked out with two bottles in his hand. He handed them to me and I packed them inside. Once I was done packing I zipped up my suitcase and took it off the bed. Liam grabbed his own off the floor and we walked out of the bedroom. As soon as we got downstairs I grabbed my sweater and sunglasses. Liam and I walked out the door and  locked it behind us. After placing our suitcases in the back of the car he and I got in and he started the car. As he pulled out I turned the radio on. My phone buzzed in my pocket and I saw that El had texted me.

El: Got the plane tickets in my hand! Ready for the best bachelorette part ever?!! :)

I texted back instantly.

Beth: So excited! I just wish you girls would let me keep my phone. :(

El: You know the rules. The bachelorette and bachelor aren't allowed to contact each other the whole trip!

Beth: Well whoever came up with that rule is fucking stupid. :(

El: Get over it babe. You'll see Liam PLENTY when you get back ;D

Beth: Oh my god. Remind me why I'm friends with you?

El: You love me. Shut up. Now get your ass to the airport.

I rolled my eyes and smiled at her sass. I couldn't wait to plan her and Louis' wedding. When we arrived at the airport we parked the car and got out. We walked in and looked around, looking for El or Louis.

"Do you see them?" I asked Liam.

Liam's eyes searched the crowd. "Yeah, right there." He said pointing to the left.

I followed his gaze and saw everyone else standing off to the side. Liam and I made our way over to them and the girls grinned.

"Well Beth, how does it feel to be going on your bachelorette party?" Miranda grinned.

I took a deep breath and grinned. "Its still unreal." I glanced at Liam who was laughing with the boys about something.

"Well in twenty days you'll be Mrs. Payne. Enjoy the unmarried life while you can." Emily told me.

"I will." I smiled. "I will."

"Alright, so here are your plane tickets." El told us, handing us our tickets. "Our plane starts boarding in half an hour so I suggest we make our way through security."

I nodded in agreement.

"Hey Liam!" El called over.

The boys turned their heads and looked at his.

"We need to go. Say goodbye to Beth before you leave her for a week." El told him.

Liam's face immediately fell and he made his way over to me. He pulled me close to him and kissed the top of my head softly.

"I love you. I'll miss you so much." He told me softly.

"I'll miss you too. But have fun okay? You're only an unmarried man for twenty more days. Enjoy it." I told him.

"I'll enjoy it. But I look forward to spending the rest of my life with you more than anything." He told me.

I smiled. "Its only a week. Remember that."

He nodded slowly. "I know."

"Beth." I heard El say from behind me.

I turned my head and looked at her. She mouthed 'We need to go.' I nodded and untried back to Liam.

"Well I'll see you in a week. Okay?" I asked.

He nodded. "I love you. Have a great time at Disneyland and if you see Woody and Buzz Lightyear,  you know what to do." He said.

I laughed. "I know. And you boys have fun too."

"We will." He said.

He kissed me softly and slowly I pulled away.

"Bye. I love you." I told him.

"I love you too." He said.

As I walked away with the girls I turned back towards him.

"And Liam?" I called.

He looked up.

"Just remember, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. Don't do anything stupid and I don't want to see you five in The Hangover four." I called.

The boys laughed.

"No promises!" Louis called.

I chuckled and followed the girls to security. After we made our way through security I followed them to our gate, D11.

"Alright, so tonight we'll arrive at our hotel. I've gotten us the presidential suite on the top floor of the hotel so that means there is enough room for all of us. Tomorrow morning we'll make our way to Disneyland where we'll stay there until eight. At eight we leave and go back to the hotel where we get ready for clubbing. That should take us about an hour so we'll leave at nine. Then we stay at the club until about one or two in the morning. I've hired a guy to watch over us so that we don't do anything stupid and that we get back to the hotel safely. That's just the first day." El grinned.

"Well aren't you organized." I chuckled.

"Honey, I'm your maid of honor. Its my job." She told me.

Flight D11 from London, England to Los Angeles, California now boarding...

"Thats us. We're in first class we we need to get on first." El told us.

We followed her to the line where we made our way to the gate. As soon as we were at the front we handed the lady our tickets and made our way onto the plane. We took our seats and I looked out the window. I already missed Liam and its only been half an hour. I took out my phone and sent him one last text.

Beth: I love you.

He immediately texted back.

Liam: I love you too. Miss you already :(

Beth: I miss you too. I wish you could just come to California with us.

Liam: I'll only be one state away. I'll miss you from afar <3

"No texting the bachelor! Give me your phone!" El exclaimed.

I groaned.

"One second." I sighed.

Beth: El's going to take me phone in a second. I just wanted to tell you that I love you and have an amazing time. Remember what I said, don't do anything stupid. xxx

Liam: Wouldn't dream of it. I love you too much. See you in a week. xxx <3

El took my phone out of my hands and slipped it into her bag.

"A week. Seriously. A week." I groaned.

"You'll have him all to yourself when we get back. Don't worry." She said.

"What are the boys even going to do in Vegas anyway? Liam doesn't gamble. He thinks its stupid." I told her.

"Party. Thats pretty much all they're going to do. They might do some crazy shit but you know the term, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas." She told me.

I sighed. "I'm just worried. What if Liam does something stupid?" I asked.

"Beth, you two are literally getting married in twenty days. Twenty days. He's not going to screw it all up just for a small thrill." She told me.

"Are you sure?"

She nodded. "Lou even told me that the boys are going to keep a close watch on him if he ever gets too drunk. I think they've also hired someone to watch over them."

I let out a sigh of relief. "I probably sound paranoid right now." I chuckled.

"No. You sound like you're in love with a guy who you don't want to loose." She told me.

***Liam's POV***

"Alright. Give me your phone." Louis said, holding his hand out.

I groaned and handed it to him. "A week. Seriously. A week."

"We have to be away from our girlfriends too." Niall pointed out.

"Yeah but you get to contact them any time you want. You've confiscated my phone and El's taken Beth's." I told them.

"Tell you what, when ever I have my bachelor party, you can take my phone." Louis told me.

"Is that I promise?" I asked.

He nodded. I turned to the other lads.

"So, have any off the three of you thought about proposing to Emily, Mir or Perrie?" I asked.

Harry blushed and looked at the ground.

"You're seriously blushing just thinking about her? Well, Mir definitely changed you." Louis told him.

"Yeah, honestly you used to have a new girl on your arm every week. But then you met Mir. She must be pretty special to have changed you like that." I said.

He nodded, a small grin on his face. "Yeah. Miranda she's just... she's amazing. I definitely know she's the one. I'm probably going to ask her in a few years."

"She used to be kind of like you in high school. She would play guys. But when she met you she changed." I told him.

"What was Emily like in high school?" Niall asked.

"She was the really smart girl in all classes. In sophomore year I had three classes with her and she literally beat everyone at everything in those classes. She also was amazing at like every sport there was. Especially football." I told him.

"What about Beth?" Louis asked.

I smiled. "Smart. Sporty. She was very social, talked to everyone whether she knew them or not. The guys loved her and that really sucked for me because she would always have a boyfriend. She never really cared what people thought of her but I don't think there was a single person in that school that hated her. Everyone loved her, even the teachers." I told them.

"Harry, you knew El from the bakery right?" Zayn asked.

Harry nodded. "Yeah. She was really sassy and we would mess around when customers weren't in the shop. She was really care free and I thought that was pretty cool. Thats why when I met Louis I knew I had to introduce them."

"Once of the best decisions you've ever made mate." Louis grinned.

Flight A12 from London, England to Las Vegas, Nevada now boarding...

"Thats our flight." Louis told us.

We got up and grabbed out bags. We made our way to the gate and stood in line. As soon as we were on the plane we took our seats in first class and I looked out the window and began to think. In 20 days I would be standing at the end of the alter, waiting for Beth to walk through the doors. Its crazy. She went from being a stranger, to my best friend, to my girlfriend, to my fiance and now... now she would be my wife. Its crazy how two people who were once strangers can evolve into something so powerful its almost unbreakable.
