9. The fight

“Hey keep away from me!” I said pulling my hands out of the rope and jumping off the chair; I ducked as Cooper dived towards me and swung my foot around to catch him. The first time I missed but the second time I caught him and he fell to the floor.

“Guys get here now and help me!” he yelled and as if on cue three big heavy guards walked in and restrained me.

“Get off me and leave me alone,” I yelled as I struggled to free myself from her grasp but the three men were really strong and they remained holding me.

“You are really annoying did you know that?” Cooper said, he had managed to pull himself together removing the creases in his clothing and standing back up.

“Wow you actually look nice,” I said dramatically, “You know for a zombie that is.” I squared him up and he stared right through me as if I wasn’t really there.

“You think you’re so funny don’t you,” Cooper said sarcastically, “Well you’re not and you never will be so just don’t try to be funny.” I glanced at him and laughed.

“Anyone can be a comedian Cooper,” I said laughing but he didn’t smile like he used to, “But not everyone can get comedy I guess you’re one of them.” He glared at me then turned to one of the other men.

“Take her back to the cell we’ll try again tomorrow,” Cooper said marching out the room, “Oh and don’t let here escape we don’t need anything like that to top what has already happened.” I laughed as the men dragged me off back towards the so called cell.

“Be careful I might just run when you let go of me,” I said smiling as they opened the door and shoved me inside.

“Don’t try anything,” the man closest said, “I’m warning you if you try anything I’ll shoot your friend I swear I will.” I glanced down at the boy he smiled back up at me with a don’t worry I’m fine look on his face.

“I’m not going to do anything trust me,” I said looking the man in front of me, “ Believe me I won’t I promise.” I stood there smiling sweetly until they left then turned and rolled my eyes at the boy. He didn’t look hurt at all he was lying on the only camp bed in the room looking bored. He smiled at me and rolled his eyes back at me.

He looked up his long blond hair and green eyes shining in the small slit of moonlight coming in from the only window in the room.

“So,” he said as if we were standing in a pub having a laugh instead of being locked up in a prison cell in the middle of goodness knows where, “Fancy seeing you here.”
