30. Making dinner

“Alright boys let’s stop now you’re making too much noise,” I said smiling; “We don’t want the switchers to hear us do we.”

“Oh please darling five more minutes,” Dylan said with pleading eyes, “Don’t spoil such a fun game.” He walked over and wrapped his arms around my neck frowning hard.

“I’m really sorry but I have no choice,” I said pushing him off me, “I don’t want to spoil things but I also don’t want to die Mason you understand me don’t you?”

“Yeah of cause I do come on Dylan lets go inside we could always do some gambling you know if you want to.”

“Yeah sounds like fun let’s do it,” Dylan smiled and followed him towards the house as he walked past me he grasped my hand and squeezed it tenderly. I smiled at him and he smiled back.

“Hey are you two coming or what?” Mason said as he had now reached the door, “Or you could stay out here in the cold your choice.” I rolled my eyes at him let go of Dylan’s hand and we walked towards the door together and went inside. When we got inside Molly was standing by the door smiling.

“Oh good you have finally finished your game,” she said to the boys and then she turned to me, “Come on Angel it’s our turn to make dinner.”

“Yes mother,” I said rolling my eyes as I walked past the boys. I followed Molly into the kitchen and we got to work.

“So what do you want to make for dinner?” Molly said opening the cupboards. I glanced around the half empty kitchen and frowned then I spotted a small portable camping cooker and smiled.

“How about some pasta and tomato sauce with some granola bars and a banana each,” I said pointing to the cooker I had seen. Molly looked where I was pointing and nodded so we started cooking. I turned the small cooker on and put a pan of water on top to boil, and then when it had boiled I put the pasta in and waited. Molly had found a pot of ready-made tomato sauce so we didn’t have to make it, and she found four bananas that hadn’t gone off and four granola bars as well.

“Wow something smells good,” Dylan said coming in with Mason and walking strait over to me, “So what are you making?” He put his arms around my shoulders and resting his chin on my shoulder managed to have a look at what I was doing.

“We are having pasta,” I said dramatically with a pause to add effect, “Now do me a favour and just sit down.” They sat at the table and we plated up. After everyone was finished the boys cleaned up and Molly and I sat on the couch.

“This has been a wonderful day,” she said and I couldn’t agree more.
