“Where are you taking me?” I demanded trying to keep my voice from wavering. "I demand to know what you plan on doing to me. Now!"

The man turned his head and stopped abruptly, glaring as if he was a monster himself. Without saying anything he tightened his grip on my arm and continued to move. The corridors all looked the same as we swiftly moved from one to the other, masked by the shadows as we swept the halls.

"Why won't you answer me!" I bellowed my harsh tone echoing of the walls, removing the silence. When all I got in return was a short grunting sound from the man I realized that, like many others, he could not speak. That wasn't rare, the only monster I had met so far that could was my ex-mother. Still grunting the man attempted to push me into the open doorway with no such luck. After he continued to try without success I eventually gave up and stepped through the door.

On the other side of the door was what appeared to be an interrogation room. The plain white walls were dimly lit by two shabby lamps in each of the back corners. This made the room look even more out of place as it was too clean to fit the surroundings. The only pieces of furniture in the room, besides the lamps, were a splintering wooden desk and two very battered chairs. The whole room gave of a foul stench of decay and something worse that I couldn't quite place.

“She is safe and secure, right?” Cooper's voice crept into the room making it easier to guess my fate. The grunting that followed answered his question and once he was certain he entered the room. I noticed something grasped in his hand but I didn't bother to ask, mainly because he probably wouldn't answer. Smiling he sat down on one side of the desk and leaned back, still grinning.

“Why are you doing this to me? Why not somebody else?” I looked over at him, with his cocky smile, and continued to stand. “Why are you keeping us here? What did I do to make you hate me?” I shouted every question that I could think of at him but he didn't reply. He just sat there still grinning at me.

“All will be answered I promise,” He said promptly, yet he managed to keep a note of charm in his voice. “But first please take a seat and we can talk all about the reason your here.

I looked at him un-moving but his glare was serious and convincing. Cursing under my breath I pulled out the chair and took a seat.

“So,” I muttered leaning back in the chair and purposely yawning. “Can we make this quick, for I’m afraid that I am extremely tired.”

"Oh Angel I really have missed you," he stated remembering to keep a cocky smile on his face. "You always were so temperamental, no wonder people said we were made for each other."

"You know what Cooper?" I said sweetly before immediately frowning. "You can cut the crap and tell me what you want ok?"

“Fine, if you must ruin things, I’ll make this quick. Number one I’m doing this because I have to,” he said melodramatically, “Number two we are keeping you here because it’s easier than having to find you every time we need you.” I could have let him carry on but I was filled with rage at what he had said.

“How is that an answer?” I said cursing at him so hard he looked taken aback. “You can’t just walk in here and expect everything to be ok because you say you have no choice that’s just stupid.”

“Hey look. I understand your feeling angry darling but honest I’m not the one doing this I swear,” he looked me in the eyes and smiled. 'How could he say it’s wasn't his fault it was his fault wasn’t it'.

“How can it not be your fault,” I said furiously, “You wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't your fault.” I looked him in the eyes an expecting look on my face as if to say 'I’m waiting'.

“I know but I can’t do anything about it I’m sorry,” he said looking me directly in the eye, “I still love you. Did you know that? I never stopped loving you. Switch sides and we can be together forever just us what do you say?”

“Shove off I don’t love you you’re a monster and no one can love a monster now let me go,” I said banging my hand down on the table.

“That’s it I've tried to be nice to you but I can’t do it anymore,” he said grumpily, “I have had it up to here with you now! do you want to know what you did! 5 years ago the infection tried to take over you but your dedication to save your sister prevented it! Now we want you to join us. It will be slow at first but it will be worthwhile, so hold still this won’t hurt a bit.” He chuckled and pulled out a needle full of red liquid laughing as he edged closer and closer, pointing the needle towards my neck.
