26. 5 years earlier- Lucky Street

I walked into a building with the others and glanced upwards the whole celling had caved in and was littering the floor.

“Erm are you sure this is the best place to stay it looks kind of dangerous,” I said eying up the celling haphazardly.

“No it isn’t the best place is it,” Mason said, “But it will do for the night we’ll find somewhere better in the morning.” I nodded and settled myself in a corner where the roof was still intact and it looked fairly stable. It was very late now and I had no trouble falling asleep strait away. I woke to Josie gently shaking me.

“Angel we have to go,” Josie whispered, “Angel they have found us we have to go now.” I jolted awake and sat up to look at her.

“What’s going on I’m so confused,” I said worriedly as Josie guided me towards the door and out into the crisp early morning air. Mason was standing there when he noticed that I was tired he picked me up on his back as a piggy back and we started walking.

“Are you comfortable up there my dear?” Mason said as we walked, “It is not to bouncy up there is it?”

“No it’s fine thank you,” I mumbled sleepily as we headed down alley way after alley way, “I hope you know where you are going because I don’t.”

“Yeah I know where we are going,” Mason said shifting me on his back, “Don’t worry you will be able to sleep soon.”

“Thank you,” I said yawning as we walked along. Eventually we reached a beautiful four floor house in the middle of an untouched street. All the houses on the street still had perfect well-kept gardens and newly painted houses with no broken windows and a brand new front door.

“This is the only street not touched by the earthquakes,” Mason said as we walked down it, “They call it Lucky Street because of that. I heard that the monsters have cleaned this street tied it up no idea why but we will be safe here.”

“That is strange but good for us and kind of cool,” Rebecca said as we entered the house. Inside was just as nice as outside with brand new furniture and a Pantry full of food.

“It looks like they raided the nearest department store,” Miranda said smiling, “And used trucks to deliver it here.” We all burst out laughing at the thought, it sounded so funny to think of those monsters driving big removal trucks to deliver the furniture.

“Come on let’s get settled in,” Josie said as we walked around the beautiful house.
