5. Chapter 4.

WHAT did you do?” I asked, my words leaving my mouth without me thinking about it first.

“What do you mean?” He asked as we keep walking God knows where.

“Yes, well, this seems like a punishment for you.”

“It is,” he said as he rolled his eyes and I felt nothing but annoyed.

“Oh,” the only word that came out of my mouth. He didn’t want to be here with me? Fine. “Why don’t you just go? I’ll tell Mrs. Yarnall that you showed me the school, don’t worry.” I half smiled.

“Why?” He asked.

“Why what?”

“Why would you do that?”

And I had no idea why. Maybe it was the fact that I wanted to stay away from him as much as I could, or maybe it was that I felt sorry for him and I knew what it felt like when someone makes you do things you don’t want to. Like my parents; they brought me here even though it was totally against my will.

“I don’t know, because you don’t want to be here. Why should you stay?” I asked.

“Because I don’t want to stay here until five,” he answered.

“I already told you I’ll tell Mrs. Yarnall you did that tour around school with me.”

He said nothing, instead I just heard him chuckle and shake his head a bit.

“Just come on,” he said... In a good way, I may add.

What the fuck was wrong with him? Like, was he serious?  He told me this ws a punishment for him and yet he didn’t accept my offer of him leaving me alone and me telling Mrs. Yarnall a white lie. This guy was mental! I could now feel it.

“This is the building for first to fifth graders.  You will never have class in here so there’s no need to come,” he said as we walked in front of another building different from the one we were at.

He kept talking and I kept looking around recognizing everything he showed me, from every building to every single bathroom. I thanked God Mrs. Yarnall made me do this; otherwise I would’ve been completely lost. I had to admit I didn’t want to come with Styles at first but he seemed like a good guide. I was pretty sure after this ‘tour’ I wouldn’t get lost anymore, well, at least not as much as before.

“Hey!” His voice broke me out of my thoughts.

“So- Sorry,” I stuttered.

“This is it, I got to go,” he said and once again I was completely alone. I knew it wasn’t it; there was a whole lot of places around the school that he hadn’t showed me. Well, at least I knew how to get back to my next class.

I walked back to third period; I stepped into the classroom and took a seat. As I was looking at the split-ends of my hair, I felt Rosalie coming in the classroom. Thank God! At least now I knew somebody in this class. She took a seat beside me and beckoned me.

“What’s going on?” I asked her.

“A lot of people saw you and Styles while he was giving you that ‘tour,’” she said air-quoting the last word.

“So what?” I half laughed.

“You have to be careful, Sam.”

“Um... Why?” I asked confused even though I knew is because he’s no good.

“He can be charming, hot and all you want, but you can’t fall for him, he doesn’t date the school girls and he’s obviously dangerous,” she explained and I laughed.

“I won’t fall for him; that is ridiculous I don’t even know him! He was just showing me the school because Mrs. Yarnall made him do it, that’s it,” I said and it was the truth.

My life right now was a complete mess and to be honest I didn’t need another thing to mess it up more... Harry would be that ‘thing’. Yes, he could be hot. Yes, he could be charming. Yes, his voice could be sexy, and more if he had British accent. Oh, and those dimples that formed when he smiled... Wait. He was no good. He was trouble. He was dangerous. He was dark. I had to stay away from him. The thing was that there was something about this guy that made me want to know more about him.  But I would stay with my doubts forever because I didn’t want my life fucked up more than what it already was.

“I really hope you don’t,” she said and I smiled at her while the teacher came in the classroom and I sat properly.

“Good morning, class,” he said.

“Good morning Mr. Parker,” everyone answered in unison.

“Today I was going to ask you questions about the book that y’all were supposed to have read already,” he said and I heard a couple of people saying something like ‘shit’ or ‘crap’. “But... I can see we have a new student here who I suppose hasn’t read Animal Farm yet.” He smiled at me and someone opened the door harshly.

“Sorry, I’m late,” he explained.

Harry.

“Don’t worry, sit down and pay attention.”

Don’t worry? Don’t worry?! What was wrong with him? A normal teacher would’ve given him detention or whatever it was called in here!

He did as told and took the seat behind me. Couldn’t he take another one? Great.

“No, I haven’t,” I said answering to the teacher’s previous question.

So tell me, Miss, do you read?” He asked.

“Yes,” I responded honestly.

“What books have you read, then?”

“Umm...” I paused, deepening in my thoughts, trying to remind all of the books I had ever read but picking out the ones that I liked the most. “I’ve read ‘The Notebook’, ‘Dear John’, ‘The Last Song’, ‘The Lucky One’, ‘A Walk To Remember’ all by Nicholas Sparks, and I’ve read ‘Pride and Prejudice’ by Jane Austen and ‘Ana Karenina’ and ‘The Death Of Ivan Ilych’ by Leo Tolstoy, and a bunch of others that I do not really remember right now,” I said.

“Wow, you do like to read.” He smiled.

“Yes,” I said.

“Styles!” He screamed and I felt Harry startling behind me. I still didn’t get why people called him by his last name. “Tell us, what books have you read?” The teacher asked.

“None. I don’t read, it’s boring,” he answered and once again I felt annoyed by him. Reading was not boring! It was fun, it was entertaining.  He was just so lazy and irresponsible, that he didn’t even took the time to open a book and check it out. But wait. If he hadn’t read any book, how had he passed every English class he had been into? There was something about this guy that was totally not normal, and a part of me wanted to find out more about him, but the other wanted to stay completely away. The thing was that I didn’t know what to do.
