“Thanks again for the amazing pizza Marie! See you all soon, hopefully!” Niall was calling back into the house as I stepped outside after him and shut the door slightly.

“So did you have a good time?”

“Of course...” he smiled widely at me and looked down at my socks that were bare against the concrete tiled floor. He looked back up, through his eyelashes and I felt my heart melt into a sticky mess. “Your family are so nice, I hope I’ll be able to meet them again soon.”

Was that his way of saying he wanted to see me again? “Me too.” I whispered shyly at him; his grin that could not get any bigger, told me that he had heard. Li coughed, as if to remind us that they were still there, so I walked over to him and Rach who were standing a few meters away. “Thank you so much for coming guys, I hope it wasn’t too boring. I know that I had fun with all of you here.”

“Boring? Niall and I are lucky if we get a boring day even once a year! ‘Boring’ definitely isn’t the adjective that I’d use to describe tonight though.”

I wrapped my arms around his strong torso and he squeezed me tight. “Night Liam. I hope you have fun tomorrow! Let me know what Sophia thinks of the presents and the surprise you’re planning for her.”

“Sure, I will do hun. Have a good day at school and I’ll see you soon.” He kissed me on the cheek as he turned to Rachel and did the same. “Night bestie!” Rachel laughed as he gave her a high five but then pulled her in for a hug.

“You’re so silly. See you soon?”

“Of course! I’m sure we’ll all be seeing a lot more of each other.” I grinned at the idea and we waved him into the limo that was parked on my driveway. I hugged Rachel and checked that she had everything she needed before telling her that I’d see her tomorrow as I kissed her on her cheek. She waved to Niall; whom she’d already hugged, and started walking down the road with a spring in her step.

“Does she need a lift?” the blue eyed boy questioned me.

“Yeah, for eight houses.” I laughed sarcastically. He moved closer to me when I suddenly yawned.

“You need some sleep.” Niall smirked at me whilst I reached a finger to his drowsy eyes.

“So do you.” He laughed.“I had such a good day Niall, thank you for taking us out. You were quite the gentlemen to me and Rach.”

“Two beautiful girls don’t deserve anything less.” It was so cheesy but I had to blush. “Come here love.” He pulled me in for a hug and I breathed in his scent, one last time, before he would have to go. “Sleep well.” His accent sounded beautiful and I couldn’t help but let it ring through my mind on repeat.

“You too Niall.” He smiled at me with a weird expression, like interest mixed with longing, before he turned to go slowly.

I had done this to him last night. Now it was my turn to call him back. “Niall wait. You forgot something.” He turned around and before he could say anything I stepped up as high as I could on my tiptoes and planted a quick kiss on his cheek. “Good night Niall.”

“Good night Rosie.” He seemed delighted but shocked at the same time, and with that he had gotten into the limo and was now gone. It was a few moments later when I forced myself to move and walk back inside of the house; legs and arms stiff from the frosty weather. I opened the door and wrapped my arms around my hoodie as I hugged myself and stepped back onto the warm, cream carpet.

My feelings were all over the place. I knew that I had feelings for this boy, but I had never had a proper boyfriend before -especially one that I had cared about as much as this.

I shut the door quietly. Lola would be in bed by now; it was just turning 11:00pm and we had school tomorrow.

I walked into the living room to find mum and dad so that I could say good night when I found them on the sofa, cuddled up watching TV. “Good day?” my mum looked up at me when my dad copied her shortly after.

I couldn’t help but laugh. “Slightly surreal but great. I could have done without the paparazzi but I guess I should have known what I was getting myself into.”

“I wouldn’t worry about it Roselyn. The boys seem like they can take pretty good care of you, especially when stuff like that happens.”

“Plus, if they are really worth being around then you will  be able to find ways to cope and get used to everything.” I hoped so. “It’s a shame we only got to meet two of them tonight though...”

“I’d be glad if I were you mum! They can be a bit overpowering all at once.”

“Boys will be boys.” She laughed and Dad chuckled along with her.

“I’m going to bed now anyway.”

“Night, night darling.”

“Sleep tight.”

I was glad that my parents had acted so comfortable and care-free around Liam and Niall; it gave me a bit more confidence around the fact that I knew that they were nice boys. It was also important to me that my friends got along with my family, so it was all going well so far. Two down, three to go. I couldn't wait to see my mum and dad's face when Louis would eventually burst through the door to my house with a scream or a shout. I felt to laugh at how naturally I was thinking about everything - to say that I was talking about the biggest boy band in the world meeting my family - but I was honestly scared that everything had been too perfect so far; something had to go wrong, didn’t it?

Before I knew it I was lying in bed, and trying to sleep, but so many different thoughts were racing through my mind. I knew that I would have to get used to the fame in the future, if I wanted to reach my aspirations, so this would be good for me. Not only would I be able to make some incredible friends along my way, but also throw myself into the lime-light to see how well I could cope with it.

I couldn’t sleep. Nothing would work, no matter what position I tried to sleep in, I was still kept wide awake with only one person on my mind. Niall.

When would he ring me next? Would I get a text in school again? How would his interview go tomorrow? When will I be able to see him again? It was these questions that specifically cycled round and round in my mind, tag teaming each other –never giving me a break. I knew exactly what I needed.

I walked into my walk in wardrobe, to where I had undressed earlier. Tired and grumpy from lack-of-sleep, I lazily pulled out the new jumper that I had been wearing all evening, before I slipped it on, zipped it up over my sweats and pulled the collar to my nose. I inhaled Niall’s sweet scent of mint, cinnamon and vanilla washing powder before climbing back into bed and freeing all the tension from my body with a sigh.

My jumper smelt of him and I knew that it would be my prize piece of clothing until I finally got to meet up with Niall again. Seconds later, the duvet had warmed up around me and I felt myself slipping away from consciousness; in a haze of mint, vanilla and spicy cinnamon dreams.
