8. Don't You Disappear!

I walk into the meeting room and feel almost every pair of eyes on me. I'm aware of a few people whispering behind their hands but most people are just screaming compliment after compliment at Niall, who is currently smiling over at the other boys. I would pay attention to what everybody is saying, but I'm too busy searching for my sister in the crowd. The girls are like animals at a water hole; except the water that they are screaming for is none other than One Direction.

I wonder further and further into the crowd and with every step that I take, away from Niall, I feel my heart drop further and further. I've taken about 6 steps when I feel someone’s warm hand grip my tiny wrist. Their fingers fit the whole way around until they were touching. “Where do you think you’re going?” He purrs at me curiously in his accent. It still surprises me every time he opens his mouth to talk to me; I don’t understand why he's making such an effort with me.

I had been just another girl who was standing at the front of the crowd and now I am talking to Niall Horan; as I have been doing for the past 5 minutes. He smiles at me, looking under his lashes. He is by far the cutest member of One Direction and is in fact quite beautiful.

I take a second to watch him. He flicks back his soft blonde hair that has fallen into his blue eyes and flashes me a smile that means that his full, perfect set of teeth are on show and grinning back at me. I raise my hand and bite down lightly on my finger, to stop the slight giggle that is about to make its appearance to show I'm nervous, when I answer him. “I was going to go and find Lola.” I cock my head and smile at him, charmingly. I feel so comfortable around him; the only thing making me nervous is the people around us that are listening intently and his phenomenally good looks.

He looks relieved. Did Niall think I was just going to leave without saying good bye? Definitely not. Now that I'm getting so close to him, I'm not just going to let Niall Horan slip away from my reach -not now and not any time soon either. I want to get to know him better, though I doubt he will be as keen on me once he leaves the club and sees another pretty girl. But a girl could only try, right?

“Oh well don’t you disappear! Me and the boys will be waiting for you behind the table.” He leaves with an open smile and a friendly wink; ducking his head down and taking long strides in the opposite direction, to the table where I will see him again shortly.

I'm left there smiling to myself when the crowd at the front starts talking to the five boys at the quick arrival of Niall. The fans around me seem elated at what they had witnessed between me and Niall, even though we're only friends at the most. So I offer them all smiles before looking over people’s heads to try and get a better idea of where my Monkey is. I know she's small but I can’t see her at all -so I start towards the back of the crowd; getting ready to work my way through it row by row, when I suddenly see her with her back turned. She is peering out of the door they had all obviously entered and is looking nervous. I walk towards her and as she turns around and spots me at the last second, she seems relieved, before I throw my arms around her neck.

“Hey monkey!” I smile to myself, glad to have found her so quickly -when I kiss her lightly on the top of her head.

“Where were you? I was so worried.”

“You don’t need to worry about me, I can take care of myself. I just nipped outside to speak with Rachel.”

“Are you okay? How did you even get in? I was waiting here by the doors so I would see you as you walked in...”

I shuffle my feet, feeling guilty at the worry I've caused her. “I found a side entrance,” My heart warms up at the memory of walking down the corridor with Niall - he was such a gentleman, coming out to escort me here “and yeah I’m fine now. Amazing in fact!” I feel bad about not telling her the whole story, but I will tell her later - when the rest of the fans have gone.

I really don't need a group of obsessed fans jumping to conclusions about me and the Irish boy that they have convinced themselves they are one day going to marry.

Together we join the back of the queue to meet the boys; one of which I’ve already had a detailed conversation with, but Lola wasn’t to know that yet.

“Niall came in late. Did you see? I wonder where he was...” She peers off into the distance in thought. I'm considering telling her when she shouts at a girl that she has spotted! “Molly!”

It's one of the girls from Lola’s year. I recognise her from school; in the off chance that I would see her in the corridor or with Lola and their group of friends, before or after school hours. She is friends with her, but they aren't particularly close. They talk for a while and I get some spare time to just look around and check twitter on my phone.

After about 5 minutes, Molly tells us she's already met the boys and was just going to go home now. She's with her mum and little sister of about 6, so whilst Molly and Lola hug shyly, I just wave at the family and they leave along with a stream of people on their way out from seeing the members of One Direction.

Me and Lola are literally the last two in the line and have just gotten to the front of it, so the boys seem glad to nearly be finished as they welcomed us over with huge smiles.
