Marriage Contract [ON HOLD]

"You may not kiss the bride"

Keira Bright is a talented girl. She's a fashion designer and a supermodel. Not only talented, professionalism also courses through her veins. However, one day, she had to face financial problems caused by her father, who is addicted to gambling and eventually fled - leaving her behind to pay back his depths. That's when she met Harry Styles, the head owner of the most well-known resort throughout the whole world, World Resort Hotel. Harry instantly fell in love with her from the moment he saw her but problem is, she doesn't feel the same way. "Here, I'll help you out with your financial problems, only if you become my bride." Out of desperation, she had no other option. In the end, all she needed to say was, "I do."

6. It's All Part Of The Act

A few days ago when I spoke to Harry...

I saw so many little bulbs in the sky, scattered all over the wide dark-blue ceiling at night. There were a few people walking around, some were holding hands.. oh how happy they were. Love.. that's probably one thing I haven't received. I've lost my first love to my best friend.. As an exchange, I've got this career. It wasn't a pretty bad deal though.. but it still wasn't enough.

I bowed my head and sighed.. Then, I lifted my head and watched the sky instead.

Good things come to those who wait but greater things come for those who'd get up and find it.. I kept telling myself. If I've been waiting, who was I looking for? And if I've been searching.. who was I searching for? After the encounter with Hana, the past wounds I've been burying inside myself dug itself out. I wasn't jealous of her, it was the past that kept haunting me and I believe it haunts her too. It may be easy to forgive but not to forget..

"Hey," a voice greeted me. I carefully turned around to see who it was; Harry.. I'm actually glad to see him. It would've been worst if it was a burglar or a kidnapper instead of him. "You know.. it's not nice for girls to be out this late at night," he said with a crooked smile. He gripped one of the bars and smoothly made his way up.

"Go away, you weirdo."

"Weirdo? That's funny, coming from someone like you," he grabbed the last bar and pulled himself up next to me. I glanced at him, "Someone like me? What do you mean?"

He shrugged, "Well, you're the one started acting all weird and said a bunch of strange things." He edged closer and lifted a brow, "Like, mentioning roses on the bed?" he recalled our previous conversation on the phone at the cafe.

"It was just an act!" I cried with my cheeks flushed. He pulled backwards and smiled, "Well, you're a good actress."

Then, both of us remained silence. He was staring into the sky.. I wonder what's on his mind. I've never notice this before.. but he's gorgeous. No, no, no. I shook my head, I'm not falling for him. I'm never going to. My work is my main priority and no matter how much I've yearn for love, it could wait.. couldn't it?

"So, umm.." he paused for awhile, shuffling words inside his head, unsure what else to say. "Uh, nobody knows about us yet.. right?" he finally spoke.

"Well, my best friend, Jane knows.."

"Oh. I guess it's alright.. it wouldn't hurt if a few people were to know," he said.

"It wouldn't be that easy," I faced him. "Not with this ring around our finger," I fiddled with the marriage ring he gave me. "Sooner or later.. people will find out."

"Yes, they will unless we kept our mouth shut. Then, it'll probably take them awhile to be aware of this," he answered tenderly. "By the time they know about us, we'll probably already be in our separate ways."

Separate ways..

"I just wanted you to be my wife, so I could introduce you to my parents. After that, they'll definitely stop bothering and pushing me into marriage. It's a good thing you're also talented in acting, then keep up the good act and do whatever you have to do to convince them. That's all I've wished for," he smiled genuinely.

"I'll do my best," I gave him my most charming smile yet. His cheeks were flushed and he immediately turned away.

He cleared his throat, "U-Uhm, speaking of which.. there's this one thing I've been meaning to discuss with you," he said nervously.

"Sure, what is it?"

"What about it?" I looked at him with a blank face expression. "Our interactions.." he continued.

"You see.. if we were to convince anyone about our 'marriage', they would probably want us to do things," he scratched his head, reluctant to continue. "D-Don't get the wrong idea, what I actually meant was, things like hugs and -"

"A kiss?" I interrupted his line.

"What? We're going to entertain them by displaying a public affection?" I rolled my eyes.

"It's not like that. We're not entertaining, we're proving. Although our evidence are false, it's good enough to-"

"Convince them.. I know."

"You're okay with it?"

"Of course not!" I cried, my tone sounded harsh.

Then, silence consumed us again. I felt guilty for scolding him, it wasn't his fault. He just wanted to make it look real to everyone else.. but truth is, it was all fake. "I'm sorry..I didn't mean to."

"It's okay, I shouldn't have pushed you into it if you didn't wanted to," he smiled apologetically. "No, it was my fault," I replied.

"I mean, if we were to kiss.." I pursed my lips. Then, he'll be my first kiss.. I said to myself inside my head. I've been wanting to have my first kiss but I wanted to have it with the one I'm truly in love with.

Suddenly, Harry held my hand. His eyes were fixed to mine, "It's alright. We don't have to kiss, just by holding your hand.. to me, it's already too real." I was mesmerized by the moonlight gleaming in his eyes and without realizing it, our lips were only a few inches away. He leaned closer, his lips almost reached mine but when I regained my senses, I quickly pulled myself away. That was awkward.. what's gotten into me?

"Uh, I've to go now. It's getting pretty late."

"Y-yeah, me too."

Both of us climbed down and once we landed onto the ground, we said our 'goodbyes' and parted ways. Along the way, I couldn't think of anything else besides him. What happened back there? Seriously.. what's gotten into me? I shook my head once again. Just forget it Keira.. Just go home, go to sleep and wake up early for breakfast..

"One more photo! Give us your most best pose yet, Keira!" the photographer instructed.

Click! Click! Click! The lights from the cameras flashed.

"Excellent! Stunning pose, Keira. Absolutely loved it!

"Alright, time for a break," Kacey interrupted.

Finally, break time.. I've been posing for hours, I terribly need a rest. I headed towards my dressing room but Kacey stopped me. "You did so well today, good job," she complimented.

"Thank you."

It was nice hearing compliments, it's not because I like the attention. I just love it when people appreciated my hard work. Unlike my dad, who disappeared himself.. he never appreciated me and instead, he took advantage of me (which I was aware of but I was dumb enough to let it slide). A few seconds later, one of our bodyguards barged in. "Uh, Miss Kacey, there's a news reporter and a huge crowd right in front of the studio. They're requesting to see Miss Keira Bright.. should I let them?"

"A news reporter? To see Keira? What do they want with her?" Kacey straighten her body posture.

"They just wanted to ask her a few questions.."

"Questions? Tell them she's incredibly busy at the-"

"N-No, it's fine. I'll do it," I answered and turned to the bodyguard, "Take me to them."

As soon as I stepped out from the studio, everyone rushed towards me. Thank God the bodyguards were here.. They were crowding around me, their loud voices hurting my ears. Then, a female news reporter stepped forward and a cameraman followed behind her.

"Keira Bright, we've heard rumors that you're married. Is that true?" she asked, holding out a microphone.

"Rumors? Where'd you heard that from?"

"So, it IS true!"

"N-No! That's not what I meant," I replied. Geez, this was probably why I disliked handling female reporters.

"Is that your wedding ring?" she pointed out the ring I was wearing on my index finger; the one Harry gave.

I quickly hid my hand behind my back. "I.. uh"

"Could it possibly be true? Could the man you're married to.. is Harry Styles?" she continued. Hearing Harry's name, everyone's voice grew louder and wilder.

"Are you both secretly married?" she shot another question. Then, another. I was about to berserk but it probably wouldn't be a pretty sight to the others.

"When were you married?"

"Does it affect your career in some way?"

"I've no interest in conversing with you," I decided to say politely. I carefully turned away from her and made my way back into the studio. Everyone's eyes was drawn to me when I entered the studio, I pursed my lips and swooped my way into the dressing room.

How'd they found out that fast? The female reporter said, they've heard it from a rumor. Where'd that rumor came from? Who's been spreading rumors about us? I mean.. I knew eventually they were going to find out but I didn't expect it to be THIS soon. In this case, our 'marriage' will surely be exposed to the media. Ughh (groan*) just when things were perfectly fine.. I need to see Harry. If the media has already found me, it wouldn't take long for them to 'ambush' him. We obviously need a new plan and something tells me Harry has already got one..
