7. Hot New Gossip

"Excuse me."

"Yes. How may I help you?" the female receptionist flashed a friendly smile. "I need to see Harry Styles," the words instantly traveled from my mouth. "Certainly, I'll connect you to him now. And you are..?" she surveyed me from top to bottom. "Oh my God! Keira Bright?!" her mouth flew open.

"Hi," I smiled awkwardly.

"Oh my God! I'm a huge fan of your designs! Well, practically, not only me but almost every female staff in this building admires your work!" her eyes glowing with excitement.

"Thank you," I replied, my voice sounded tender. "You are an absolutely amazing fashion designer. Your outfits were top notch and I even bought your entire collection and I desperately couldn't wait for the new one," she continued.

Everyone's attention were drawn to us and before anyone else notices me, I better get going or else I might have to confront a huge rampage. "Thank you very much, but could you tell me where Harry might be?" I asked politely, even though I was in a rush.

"Oh, right! You were here to see the President. I'm sorry, I got carried away," she bowed her head apologetically. She instantly grabbed the telephone handle and pressed a number. After a quick call, she placed the phone back to where it was and said, "The President has been expecting you. He said he's busy for awhile, so he requests for you to wait for him by the west lounge."

"West lounge?"

"Second floor. From the stairs, head straight and turn right," she pointed the directions.

"Thanks."

The President, huh? That's hilarious. That's a pretty grand name for a resort hotel owner. Come to think of it, I've never once visited this place. Hmmm, the World Resort Hotel, it's even got such an extravagant name too. This place is incredible, I've seen rare art sculptures displayed (mainly for attraction and it certainly attracted mine), the color of the wallpaper and floors synchronized perfectly together. Those marbles floor were squeaky clean, I couldn't even find a single dirt or dust. I walked further ahead, with an amazed face expression. This would make a splendid place for a relaxing vacation, I said to myself inside my head.

Once I've reached the lounge, I saw him.. talking to another guy. When he mentioned 'busy', I thought he'd be in a meeting. However, both of them seemed serious for some reason, probably talking about business matters. He doesn't seem to notice my presence. Oh well, I decided to take a seat.. I shouldn't bother them, so in the mean time, might as well enjoy myself and enjoy the lovely view. There's a huge translucent glass window and I could see perfectly from the spot, the beautiful view of the blue ocean. The calming colors of the sky and the sea was a perfect fit.

"What would you like to drink, miss?" a waiter appeared next to me with a pen and a notebook in his hands.

"An orange juice, please."

Tik tok tik tok.. An hour passed.. two glasses of orange juice was placed on top of the table in front of me. I took one of them and sipped. My stomach's growling, these orange juices wasn't enough to fill me up. What's taking them so long? A simple conversation couldn't possibly take THIS long! Ughhh (grunt*) I could've barged into their private conversation anytime but since I'm a civilized person, it wouldn't be wise to interfere. Either way.. I needed to talk to Harry. What were they talking about for the past hour? Hmm.. I wonder if I could eavesdrop a small part of their conversation. I leaned against the chair, pushing it backwards with my back. I still couldn't hear them. Closer.. Just a little closer..

ARGHH! Suddenly, my foot was detached from the ground and the chair fell backwards. The orange juice from the glass, which I was holding spilled all over my shirt. Everyone in the scene rushed towards me, including the waiters and waitresses. Oh God.. this is embarrassing. Ha, I've an idea! I quickly shut my eyes, pretending to faint (to cover the overwhelming embarrassment). I could hear everyone's panic voices. Hopefully there wasn't anyone recording at this moment.. I continued the act, not moving and inch and only listened.

"Miss, miss, are you okay?"

"That's alright. I'll handle this one," I heard a familiar voice - Harry! It's him!..

"Are you sure, sir? We could just get th-"

"That's not necessary," he sounded calm. A few seconds later, he lifted me from the ground and carried me in his arms. Just keep your eyes closed Keira.. close them!

Where were we headed to? I heard a few gasps and I could sense eyes watching us. What's going on here?? He headed downstairs and his footsteps echoed against the walls. Then, I heard distant voices coming from every direction.

"Good day, sir. Uh, isn't that-" I recognized that voice - the receptionist! The one I spoke to an hour ago.

"Please hand me the key to the suite."

"U-Uh, umm certainly."

The suite? Wait a minute.. what was he trying to do?! I squinted my eyes. If he was trying to take advantage of this moment, he's got another thing coming! He started walking again and after a few minutes, he stopped.

Click! A door slide opened itself and he stepped inside. He reached another stop and gently, he placed me on top of something comfy.. a bed,  perhaps? I still haven't opened my eyes..

As soon as he lets go of me, he said "That was a brilliant act Keira but you can stop now." Should I stop or..? "You're not going to fool me," he continued. Huh, guess there's no use continuing.. I shot myself up. I turned my head towards him and narrowed my eyes.

"How'd you know I was pretending?"

"Well, someone as hard-headed as you couldn't possibly faint that easily," he explained while fixing his tie in front of a mirror. I carefully untied my hair and combed them with my fingers, "Well, let me tell YOU something, Mr.President," I said sarcastically, "If you were expecting for someone, don't occupy yourself doing something else."

"I wasn't occupying myself doing anything," he answered.

"Wasn't that you, having a conversation with that other guy by the lounge?" I lifted an eyebrow.

"I told you to wait for me but when I came, you haven't arrived yet. Coincidentally, an old friend of mine was there and we decided to have a chat."

I remembered walking to the lounge and stopped by a huge painting to take a photo. It took me a few minutes and then, I saw another painting. So, basically, it was my fault.. oops. Those paintings were exotic, the colors would've been amazing on fabric, would've been a great idea for my new designs.

"W-well, so it was both of our faults," I shrugged.

He didn't bother to argue, instead he smiled "I didn't thought you'd come."

"I needed to talk to you. It's about-"

"I know," he usher, "I saw you on TV. Didn't you realize they were recording live?"

I instantly sank myself and hid my face with a pillow. This couldn't get any worst.. no wonder everyone in the studio looked at me quizzically. They were watching me on TV!

"Oh great.. here I thought my modelling pictures were going to be in the front cover of the magazine. Instead, I'd be in next week's headlines.." I complained.

"I believe, we both are," he interrupted.

"A hot new gossip waiting to come," I sighed. That's not good news..
