Mind Games

Alex Johns and Derek Morris are two of many who were picked to be a part of what survivors call "The Mind Games". There are a series of rooms, with something planned in each and every one of them. Some can be good, like new weapons, or bad, like vicious monsters. Some rooms trick you into believing something that isn't as it seems. Win, and Survive, Lose, and Die. Your decisions will decide on if you die, or live. How will these complete strangers do in this "Brain Teaser."

1. Meeting

Alex's Story:

I walked out of my house, feeling the freezing air tease my nose, making that and my cheeks rosy. The little town of Linnville was peaceful, and quiet. I walked to the bakery, like I do twice a week. I walked inside as the smell of fresh dough greeted me. I smiled and introduced myself to the boy behind the counter; he looked new. He was tall, and cute; muscular even. His smile lit up the room.

"Hello, I'm Alex," I smiled.

"I'm Derek," he said shyly.

I handed him the slip of the order that my mom gave me, and he took it into the back room. It took awhile, then he came back with the loaf of bread. He put it into a paper bag, and slipped something else in there too.

"Here you go," he smiled as he handed me the bag.

"Thank you."

Just as I was about to pay, he pushed my hand down gently.

"No, no, I got it. It's on the house."

"Thanks," I blushed and waved, and walked out.

I blushed and kept walking, playing it off like it was just because of the cold air. I reached my house and walked inside, placing my jacket on the hook, and setting the bread on the table after taking the slip of paper out.

"Hey, text me sometime:)"

I looked down and saw the number, I smiled and laughed quietly, grabbing my phone. I texted him saying a simple hello, but he was probably still working. I walked up into my room and began to draw a wintery-scene. I drew a small cabin with children in the front yard, making snowmen, and having snowball fights. I smiled and heard my mom yell my name. I closed my sketchbook and ran downstairs. She kissed my cheek and asked me to do the laundry while she cooked dinner. I nodded, and grabbed the basket.

"So how much was it today?"

"Nothing. There's some new kid who looks my age who like just got hired and he paid for it."

"Oh, cute."
