Lily Potter and The Eight Zones of The World

It's Lily Potter's first year at Hogwarts and she's really excited. From what she had heard from her older brothers, James and Albus, and her cousin, Rose, Hogwarts sounded amazing. But then a new Dark Lord comes into power and steal the Wizarding World's protective relic, the Sword of Gryffindor. Will Lily be able to stop the Dark Lord before the Eight Zones of the world fall under his rule?

3. Chapter 2

The September sun was high in the sky when I woke up. Today was the first of lessons. What I’d been looking forward to since James started Hogwarts. So I quickly got washed and dressed into my uniform with the Gryffindor colours, scarlet and gold. I rushed downstairs into the common room to meet Hugo. Then the two of us went downstairs to the Great Hall where everyone else was sitting down eating.

Hugo and I perched ourselves next to Rose and Albus who were talking to James. “Ah, come on James.” Albus was saying. “We know you like her.” Rose said with a sigh. “Like who?” I asked curiously. “James likes Annie Blanchard. The girl you met on the train.” Albus told me. “Oh shut up, Al,” James snapped, “You’re just jealous.” I giggled at this then our head of house, Professor Longbottom, started to hand out our timetables.

My first lesson was History of Magic with Professor Totterdell. So once we’d finished our breakfast, me and Hugo went to History of Magic. Professor Totterdell welcomed us warmly. “Welcome class,” he said with a smile “I’m Professor Totterdell and I’ll be your History of Magic teacher for this year…” as he continued to talk I noticed that there was students from Hufflepuff in our class.  Hugo looked pretty nervous due to the fact that we may not be sitting together.

Then Professor Totterdell started to read out the seating plan. “Norman Fredricks and Xylie Berry… Hugo Weasley and Jeanette Brody … Kyle Vincent and Dana McPhillips… Mark Cramp and Lily Potter…” When I heard my name I quickly sat myself down next to the boy I now knew as Mark Cramp. “Hey, your Harry Potter’s kid, aren’t you?” he said. “Well, one of them.” I squeaked shyly as Professor Totterdell started the lesson.

“Now,” he said, “This term we will be learning about a topic that the ministry has ordered us to teach. The Eight Zones of the World,” I edged forward in my seat. Listening carefully, I started to take notes. There are eight zones, Technical, Magic, Muggle, Fire, Undead, Water, Air and Herbal. Obviously I knew about the Magic and Muggle Zones. The Technical Zone supplies the Muggle Zone and itself with contraptions and gadgets e.g. a devices called televisions or TVs as muggle call them. Their leader is President Una Swinn.

The Fire Zone exports fire and heat to every Zone in the world. Their leader is Prime Minister, Bradley Hansford. The Undead Zone doesn’t supply to any other Zones. But they are helpful on Halloween for a good scare. The population are basically zombies. Their leader is Queen Priscilla XVII. The Water Zone also supplies to every Zone. They export water into our lake, river, seas ect. Their leader is President Leo Skeef.

The Air Zone is the most important Zone of them all. I mean how would we all live without air (except for the Undead or Water Zones who don’t need it)? They export gallons of air a day into the atmosphere and other places like bouncy castles (another muffle contraption made by the Technical Zone). Their leader is Prime Minister Brittany Hitchins. Finally the Herbal Zone (or the Earth Zone) is also really important. Tons and tons of herbs and plants are exported into in surrounding zones per hour. Their leader is President Wayne Harpic.

After the lesson, me and Hugo discussed the Eight Zones of the World. “This topic is really interesting.” I said with a broad grin. “It’s OK.” Hugo shrugged. But there was one thing I couldn’t get out of my head. Professor Totterdell had said there was a tree in the middle of a forest in each zone and if you stand by it you’ll be able to see into the other Zones. This really got me thinking. So I decided to ask Albus to borrow his invisibility cloak and sneak out into the Forbidden Forest and see if it was true.
