The Abandoned Street

After Lenay decides to drop out of school and begins the "fun life" a 16 year old should really have, she thinks up the most idiotic things to do to begin her life without the boredom of school and it's work being in her way.
She decides to walk down the long time abandoned street, the short cut, home.

This street was abandoned for a reason. What will Lenay find there?

3. The Fall

Why didn't I ever think? This wasn't your ordinary street! You don't know the cracks like the back of your hand, you don't know where to step. I finally realised I hadn't fallen yet, I hadn't touched the rocky surface of the rough road. I was still falling. Alice and wonderland much, I thought just before a shrill scream broke the silence, even I was shocked by the echoing scream, like the ones in horror movies when the beautiful "Paris Hilton" girl gets brutally stabbed in the chest. But I was no Paris Hilton, and I sure wasn't being stabbed. I was getting closer and closer to the rough patch of ground, I closed my eyes, awaiting my fate. A dust cloud arose round me when I hit the gravelled dirt. I know I was out for a while, the only patch of light outside had disappeared. I was alone. My head throbbed, I instinctively placed my hand to my head, stickiness overwhelmed my hand, I knew it was blood. I instantly felt dizzy as I tried to sit up. I strained my eyes to see the edge of this crater like pothole.

Nobody's going to come looking for me here, I know it. I lay my head back down in the pool of sticky blood I had created on the impact of my fall. At least it was warm. My eyes felt heavy, I knew I had to try my best to keep them open, too bad I couldn't have afforded to buy a phone, thanks mum, I said sarcastically in my head before I fell into an awful sleep I wasn't too sure I'd awaken from.

I believe it was hours later that I woke up, surprisingly light had graced me with its presence. How? I had to find out. But blood crusted the edges of my eyelids together, I rubbed furiously at my eyes. Flakes of blood fell away into the palms' of my hands. Now I saw where the light had been coming from, and you could imagine the confusion on my face. What seemed like a caves in tunnel had a small gap where rocks couldn't close it up, light flooded in brightly through the hole.
