How sweet the Taste

With a world full of mysteries, secrets and lies, how certain are you that you aren't apart of something beautifully dangerous? Something incredibly supernatural? Anna was fairly certain from a young age that something just wasn't right.

33. The Kill

    Harry’s POV

I opened the front door to a rather interesting looking scene. I instantly recognized the small frame of a brunette as she looked down. My eyes followed and I realized that she was sitting on someone. Irish slurring caught my attention and made my stomach turn. What the hell are they doing? Anna shifted forward, neither of them seeming to realize I was even here. She paused and Niall shifted underneath her, making my jaw clench. He can’t have her. If I can’t, no body will. I reign in my temper and collect myself.

“What’s going on here?” I say loudly, making both of them jump. Anna quickly turned around to face me, not bothering to remove herself from Niall.

“Harry?” She asks, her brown eyes wide with surprise.

I nodded my head at her before looking at Niall. He was still placed under the small girl, a smirk playing on his face. I frowned at him, earning an even bigger grin. We will have words about this.

Anna quickly stood up, dusting her hands off on her jeans. She gave me a wary glance before turning to Niall, offering him her hand. I frowned again, not liking the grin Niall had when he took her hand. I wanted to rip his arm off.

“What are you doing here?” Anna asked nervously, fiddling with her thumbs. For some reason, I had expected her to be happier to see me.

“To help you. Bonny took off the affects of the bite. You’ll always have the mark but it can’t be activated again unless you are bitten again.” I explained, shutting the front door and kicking my shoes off.

“I don’t need help.” She stated, her tone serious.

“I would like to say differently, little tigress.” Niall responded. An annoyed look crossed her face but she ignored him.

“I’m fine. There’s nothing wrong with me.” She said again, crossing her arms over her chest.

“I don’t think so.” Niall offered, causing her to huff. He just grinned but she continued to keep her back to him.

“What’s happened earlier, Niall?” I asked, ignoring Anna for a minute.

“Well, long story short, I was feeding and the girl managed to get away from me. Anna had some how broke out of her room and ran into my lunch. She wanted to go on a rescue mission but ended up failing. I caught the girl and fed. Anna showed interest and I showed her how. She drained the girl and then I called you.” Niall said casually. I watched Anna’s face when he said this.

She kept it blank but her eyes said something different. She was dying to run away but she wanted to prove she was stronger than that. Tougher. I winder what’s changed. Apparently I’ve missed a lot since Bonny put that bite on her. She’s changed. A lot.

“Why did you have to go so fast?” I asked, noticing Anna shift her weight to her left leg.

“Well, princess here decided she didn’t like it and began to puke it all up. Oh, um, by the way, your favorite rug is ruined.” Niall informed me, making me shake my head.

“I told you not to keep it in the hallway but no.” He kept on talking, dragging out the no.

“How are you feeling, Anna?” I asked, speaking to her directly now.

“I feel fine, actually.” She stated before Niall pitched in.

“Only she has supernatural strength in her tiny human muscles.” Niall teased from behind her.

“I’m fine.” She stated again, clenching her jaw in aggravation.

“You do you that the first step you getting help is admitting you have a problem.” Niall taunted. Anna spun around, facing the irish boy with her fists clenched at her sides.

“I swear if you don’t shut up with your stupid remarks, I’ll-” She started but Niall’s voice was louder.

“You’ll what? Growl at me?” Niall interrupted, yelling right back at the girl.

She did just that, a low growl coming from her small body. The sound was deep and threatening, warning Niall. The boy refused to back down, yelling her to come on and show him everything she’s got. It was childish but it worked. There was no way she was going to show me this on her own. She had to be pushed and Niall knew all the right buttons.

“Aw, little kitty shy to show off her true nature? Here, let me help.” Niall said harshly before bringing his arm back.

My jaw dropped and I took a step forward as he brought his hand down, full force. The echo of the slap was heard through out the house. Anna’s head snapped sideways, surprisingly keeping her feet planted. She cupped her cheek for a few seconds before slowly turning to the boy in front of her. His smug look dropped when she faced him, a low chuckle coming from her as she looked up at him.

His eyes were wide because of something I couldn’t see. Something told me it truly had to be terrifying if Niall looked like that. All his smugness and pushiness was gone. He was blank. He looked unsure. Like he knew he had pushed to far or didn’t know what was going to happen next.

“I thought I would loose sleep over this but it’s been decided. I won’t.” Anna said as she looked up at Niall. He frowned and his mouth opened as if he was going to say something but it was to late.

Her speed was inhuman as she reached up with both hands, gripping Niall’s face. His blue eyes went wide and bright with some emotion that I’ve never seen Niall hold before. Fear. And with a quick snapping sound, the light was gone and Niall’s lifeless body slumped to the floor.
