Stripes of a warrior

Book 1/3

Jaiyana is just like anybody else but still not like anyone in the whole world. She is something more than just human. She knows there is more in the world than what we think.

Cole Hensher would give anything to go back to thinking he was normal after meeting Jaiyana. But he just has to get used to the knowledge of what he is. And what they can and have to do to stop a group called 'the hunters'

2. Chapter one-Jaiyana

I groaned as my alarm started beeping telling me it was time to get up. I hit the off button and let my arm slide off and hang on the side of the bed. I groaned again and kicked my thin blanket off the bed. I rolled over on my back and stared blankly at the ceiling. After a few minutes I finally got out of my semi-comfortable bed, well, more like mattress. The wood floors felt like ice under my feet as I walked over to my dresser. I took out an outfit and walked towards the door. I slowly turned the loose door knob and opened it. I silently crept down the hallway and opened the bathroom door. I closed the door behind me and locked it then I flipped on the dim light. I threw my outfit on the counter and walked over and turned the shower knob.

After my shower I got changed in the jeans and white t shirt. I took a towel and dried my blonde hair as best as I could before brushing it out. I brushed until it was tangle free and almost flat from the water. I looked at myself in the mirror. I concentrated and stripes appeared on my skin. My eyes fell over the lines as they cris-crossed up my arms and legs and came up to my cheeks. I smiled with satisfaction. I concentrated again and the stripes faded. I took my pajamas unlocked the door and walked out. Out of the corner of my eye I saw someone leaning against the wall.

"It's about time!" He complained

I whipped around and glared at him. I had never seen him at the orphanage before. He was tall, slender, and had longish dark brown hair. He wore an old fashioned Beatles shirt and sweat pants. I could see amusement in his eyes.

'Must be a new kid' I thought

I just glared and turned back around before walking back to my room. I grabbed my gray sweater off my dresser and put it on. I turned off the light and walked out my door. I dug through my sweater pocket and pulled out a tiny key. I shut the door and locked it. I walked through the hallway, down the long staircase and began braiding my hair sloppily.

As I walked outside, a cold wind blew against me. I wrapped my arms around me and kept walking. I looked up at the clear blue sky. I closed my eyes and pictured the moon shining bright in a star covered sky. The full moon was coming up soon

"I have to be ready" I muttered to myself
