5. An Email Arrives

I had been sat in the living room, debating whether to join Sinead in the shower. We'd spent many precious hours there. Blow this, I thought. It'll wait an hour. I was just exiting the room when I heard the beep on the computer announcing another email. I half turned back. Why now, I'd practically got my shirt off in anticipation. What should I do? I was torn. Reluctantly I retraced my steps and looked at the screen. If it wasn't from Kiyoshi then I'd be upstairs and in the shower as fast as I could.

My heart, half sank. Yep it was from Kiyoshi. I quickly scanned through the message. It might just be a nothing email after all. When the enormity of what was enclosed hit me, I sighed. Putting my shirt back in place I stood at the bottom of the stairs and shouted Sinead. I heard a groan and then she shouted Ok.

Returning to the computer I re-read the email. This was getting more bizarre by the day. The door opened and Sinead entered. Her hair was wet and she only wore a towel pulled around her body. She hadn't taken time to dry herself off and everywhere she walked she left damp patches. She sat down on my knee and leant across to the computer. She quickly read through the email before sitting back. I put my arms around her feeling her wet body through the towel. She kissed my forehead and snuggled down.

'So,' she said,' the plot thickens, do you reckon it's still real?’

I paused, how could I answer that. She looked at me with those questioning eyes. She wanted to believe that Kiyoshi had been telling the truth.

At this point I ought to fill you in on what's happening with this email.

Shortly after we got together, Sinead revealed that she was in communication with this bloke in Malaysia. As she'd told me, she really was into the game Pokemon. Over the years she'd built up friendships with many aficionados of the game worldwide. through these contacts she'd been in touch with Kiyoshi. He was an investigative journalist working in Malaysia. He claimed to have information that far from being a game, the world of Pokemon was real. Now I'm one of life's skeptics. I know computers inside out, know that it's really easy to falsify documents and photos. Sinead wanted to believe, I knew that. She was really easy to convince. The first stuff we'd got was pretty poor to be honest. however the quality of the material that he'd sent recently was stunning. I was beginning to believe that Pokemon did really live.

Kiyoshi was on the trail of a global corporation who'd bought an island off the coast of Malaysia. There were rumours that the company was developing some sort of nature reserve. However the security in place was really tight. He'd begun to wonder if there was some other use for the island.

Then came the request for money to help him. It was only a few hundred pounds, sure I could afford it but I didn't really want to part with it. In the end, he'd promised us incontrafutable proof that Pokemon really did exist. He said it would blow our minds away. I was yet to be totally convinced.

Now came this email. Sinead was reading it though the fourth time. Basically he'd sent the parcel, but it hadn't made the right post. It'd be there tomorrow.

I looked at Sinead, she was so happy. She believed wholeheartedly that it was the truth. She pressed her lips to mine opening her mouth in the process. Ah well, tomorrow was another day. I undid the towel which was wrapped around her and we fell backwards onto the sofa both hungry to explore each other once again.
