Like Crazy

Everyone thinks Julia Parker is perfect, but she is nothing close.
She is soon to be facing an arranged Marriage to her dad's close friends son, Harry Styles, though Julia wants nothing to do with him.
But, through Harry she meets Niall who she falls head over heals in love with.
They begin doing things behind Harry's back, and when he finds out, they devise a plan.
But with the wedding coming up, Julia is worried there won't be a way out.
But she can't marry Harry.
Because of Niall.
She needs him, she wants him, she loves him, like crazy.

5. "What the hell are you doing in my closet?"

"Yeah, go ahead" I smiled. She looked up at me.
"How are you?"
"Good," I nodded.
"Not to be rude but, what are you doing here?" She asked, looking around the run down cafe.
"Doesn't seem like your type of place."
I laughed.
"Trying to avoid a dinner with some business people. I said, "I was going to see Julia... but.."
She nodded in understanding.
"She was the one you were with last week?"
"Yeah. That's her." I confirmed.
"Are you two...?" She asked.
"No! No. It's.. Complicated." I said, rubbing my neck.

"Oh." She responded.
"Do you like her?" She added.
"Yeah, I mean she's nice and stuff but..."
But she's not you.
She nodded. "I don't even think she likes me," I said, swirling the straw around in my cup.
"You deserve someone who loves you Harry," She said, rubbing my arm.
My skin tingled where she had touched me.
I was about to respond when I was cut off by the bell above the door going off.
"I'm so sorry the steak didn't exactly... Work out." I heard someone say.
I laughed. It sounded like my mom, she was a terrible cook.

Wait... Mom.
My head shot up. I saw my parents and their dinner guests ordering up at the counter.
"CRAP!" I whispered, shooting up from my chair.
"What?" Makenzie asked, confused.
"My parents," I whispered, pulling on my hood.
"Oh, and they think.."
"I'm with Julia, yes I'm sorry but I have to go!" I said rushing to the back of the restaurant.
I received confused looks from all of the staff but ignored them, rushing out the back door.
I quickly began jogging, not completely sure of where I was going. I couldn't go home... Not yet.
Acting on impulse, I picked up speed and headed straight for Julia's house.
My hand was sweating as I jabbed at the doorbell. I heard feet running down the long hallway.
The door swung open to reveal Julia's mom.
"Hello Mrs.Parker," I smiled.
"Hello Harry!" She exclaimed, smiling widely.
"Was Julia expecting you?"
I shook my head, "No, I uh, came to... surprise her" I stuttered.
"How sweet!" She smiled, "I think she's downstairs," She opened the door wider and I stepped inside, kicking off my shoes.
"Thanks," I smiled.
I had been to her house only once so I had no idea where I was going, as I walked down a long hallway.
I saw a door at the end, and decided to try it.
I opened it up, and it wasn't the basement, but Julia's room.

Half of myself knew it was wrong and that I should leave right away, but the other half of me was... intrigued.

I took a step further in.
She had picture frames lined along the wall.
Pictures of her at award ceremonies, With her family, one of her and a girl who I thought was Lilly.
I had met her before, vaguely.
I was still looking at the pictures when I heard her phone go off.
I knew I shouldn't have, but I looked over at it.

Nialler: Hey :) Maybe we could do that something this weekend?x

Niall? And Julia?
I don't know why the thought infuriated me, but it did.
What was the something Niall was talking about? Had they gone out before?
A thousand questions were running through my head.
Just as I was about to leave, I heard feet coming down the hallway.
I quickly looked around the room for a hiding place. I ripped open the door to the closet and dived in as the door to her room opened.
She was humming softly, and she grabbed her phone off her nightstand before plopping down on her bed.
She smiled broadly while she replied to a text, Niall's, I was sure.
"Julia, bring your laundry out here, please" Her mom called.
I braced myself for what was about to happen.
She opened up her closet door, reaching down to grab a laundry basket.
She looked me straight in the eye and screamed.
"Shhh!" I warned, stepping out of the closet.
"What the hell are you doing in my CLOSET?" She asked.

"Well I came to... Surprise you" He explained.
"By hiding in my closet?" She asked in disbelief.
"Well I was looking for the basement and I ended up here... And I didn't want you to think I was creeping in your room..."
"So you jumped in my closet?" She asked. I nodded
"Your weird, Styles" she said, walking out of the room.
"Did you find Harry?" I heard her mom ask.
"Yeah," she laughed, "Sure did," She walked back into her room.
"How long have you been in here?" She asked.
"Only five minuets, don't worry." He smiled.
"You little creep," she laughed.
"So. What are you doing here? I have a feeling your not really surprising me," She said, falling backwards on her bed.
"Escaping a dinner party, actually" I admitted, sitting next to her.
"Clever," she smiled, not at all hurt that I didn't really come to see her.
At least we had our hatred for dinner parties in common.
"Yeah. Until I almost ran into my parents," I laughed.
She sat up against the wall.
"Who was that... Girl?" She asked, playing with her fingers,"The one you danced with?"
It looked like it was really bothering her, and I felt bad.
"She's... Her names Makenzie. She waits on my family sometimes," I said nonchalantly.
She nodded. Did she care? Did it bother her that I danced with her? She didn't act like she cared when it all happened.

"What about Niall?" I asked, turning the conversation around. She looked up at me.
"What about him?"
"I saw your text..." I admitted.
"So not only did you hide in my closet, you read my text messages?" She roared.
"I was just standing here and it went off and how am I supposed to NOT look at it?" He asked.
She chucked a throw pillow at me. "We haven't gone out or anything."
I sighed... Wait, did I care? Did I... like her?
Harry and I had talked in my bedroom for nearly an hour. It felt good to just talk.
Even though the whole thing started with him hiding in my closet.
It was 10:30 by now and Harry said he had to go.
I walked him out, shutting the door softly behind me as I stepped on the porch.
"Are you sure your okay walking alone in the dark?" I asked, nervously.
"I'm a big boy," he cheekily reminded me.
I smiled. "Bye Harry," He looked me in the eye before kissing me on the cheek.
"Bye Julia," he said, stepping away.
I watched him walk down the sidewalk, his face beautifully illuminated by the street lights, until he faded off into the distance.
I sighed, conflicted. Maybe Harry wasn't as bad as he seemed. Maybe I... Liked him.
