15. "I'm sorry, but I need to go,"

I drove for a while before ending up in Central Park.
There was some sort of street fair going on and I supposed it would be something to do.
I walked aimlessly through the throngs of people, hoping not to run into anyone my parents knew.
I found a cotton candy stand, and decided to find a place to sit down and eat it.
It took a while, but I finally came across an empty bench.
I had only just sat down when someone sat next to me.
I didn't look at who it was, incase it was someone who would recognize me.
"Harry?" I heard someone ask.
Damn it.
I turned around and was face to face with Eleanor.
Eleanor's POV:
I arrived at Central Park to see there was a street fair going on.
I was having a fine time until I started walking towards the bridge.
I saw Louis, leaning against a tree, smiling widely as he talked to a girl.
So he says he is sorry and he loves me, yet as soon as I brake up with him he goes to that cunt?
I walked away, tears threatening to spill over.
I hadn't walked far when I saw a bench and decided to sit down.
A curly haired guy was sitting next to me, but the tears were flowing now and I didn't want to see anyone.
I looked over my shoulder again.
He looked really familiar..
He turned around and looked at me. Dang. I said that aloud.
"Eleanor? Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine." I lied, wiping the tears from my face.
He nodded awkwardly.
"I haven't seen you in a long time. How are you and Louis?"
I was a bit shocked.
Harry and Louis were incredibly close, why wouldn't he tell Harry? Was there a reason or did he simply not tell him?
"Uh.. We um we broke up. I figured Louis would have told you..." I trailed off.
He scooted closer to me, draping an arm around my shoulder.
"I'm really sorry. Did you want to talk about it?" He asked.
And I don't know what came over me, I hardly knew Harry for Pete's sake, but I told him everything that had happened. And he nodded. And he understood.
Harry's POV:
I listened intently as Eleanor talked.
Louis was such an arse
She was heartbroken and he just went after another girl? That didn't sound like the Louis I knew.
"I could talk to him if you want," I offered a few minuets later when she finished talking.
"No, it's okay. I don't want to-" she continued talking but I didn't hear her.
I had looked up to see Kenzie. She was a few yards away, holding some dudes hand.
Suddenly, she turned around and pressed her lips to his.
My blood was boiling. Why would she do something like that? What had I done to her?
I turned to Eleanor, and as she looked me in the eye I pressed my lips to hers.
I could just barely see Kenzie in the corner of my eye, but I saw enough to know she saw.
Eleanor pulled away.
"What the-?
Eleanor's POV:
Harry cut me off mid sentence by kissing me.
I was shocked at first, but kissed him back.
This was wrong.
"What the hell?" I asked, in shock.
"I'm sorry.. I don't know why-"
I didn't listen to the rest of his apology as I saw Louis and Hannah again.
Louis looked in my direction before planting one on Hannah.
That little...
When he looked back at me, I turned to Harry, and kissed him again.
He put his hands on my hips, reacting immediately.
"Holy shit" he muttered, as I pulled away.
"I'm sorry but I need to go," I said, feeling the tears return.
"El-," I said quickly.
"Bye, Harry,"
Harry's POV:
Eleanor left and I stood to do the same before I was blocked by Louis.
"What, Lou?" I asked.
"Why did you just kiss my girlfriend?" He spat.
"Because she isn't your girlfriend," I informed him.
"I'm quite sure she is," Louis corrected me, stepping closer.
"Well that sure as hell isn't what she told me Louis! She loved you and you just replaced her. You didn'" I said firmly.
"Didn't care?" He shouted.
"She hates you Louis. And that's your problem, not mine," I said, walking away.
He said nothing more.
Julia's POV:
We didn't have time to ask anymore questions before we arrived at.. Well I wasn't exactly sure.
Niall opened the door for me, grabbed his guitar and walked with me towards some trees.
"Niall?" I questioned, ducking under branches.
He didn't respond, just led me further into the trees.
Finally, we reached a clearing.
There was a small river, and a table set up near it. Rose pedals littered the ground, and it was incredibly romantic.
"What do you think?" Niall asked, hopefully.
"Niall, this is amazing," I gushed.
He smiled, setting his guitar case down, and sitting on top of an abnormally large rock.
"Before we eat I want to play something for you," he said, pulling his guitar strap around his neck.
I nodded, smiling as I sat next to him.
He started strumming and looked me in the eye as he began to sing.
Now that she's back in the atmosphere, drops of Jupiter in her hair hey hey-ey.
Walks like summer and talks like rain, reminds me that there's time to change, hey hey-ey.
My hand clasped over my mouth as he sung.
He remembered. This was the first song we ever danced to. The first time we met.
He smiled at me as he continued singing,
But tell me, did you fall for a shooting for shooting star? One without a permeant scar? And did you miss me when you were looking for yourself out there?
He continued singing and I was grinning like an idiot.
Can you imagine no love, pride, deep fried chicken?
He made a funny face at that part, causing me to laugh.
Can you imagine no first dance, freeze dried romance, 5 hour phone conversation? The best soy latte you've ever had and.. Me.
He finished the song and at this point I was crying.
I wrapped him in a hug, as soon as he put his guitar down.
"Hey, I still have another question left, right?" He asked, referring to the game we played earlier.
"Uh yeah why?" I asked, confused.
"Because I want to ask mine," he said.
"Julia?" He asked, looking me in the eye.
"Niall?" She mocked.
"Will you be my girlfriend?" He asked.
I immediately nodded, hugging him again.
"I have one left too," I informed him.
"Ask away,"
"What would you do if I kissed you right now?"
He smiled,"I would have to kiss you back,"
I put my hands around his neck, firmly pressing my lips to his.
It wasn't like the first time we kissed.
It was better. Sweeter.
He pulled away first, declaring,
"I'm hungry,"
Harry's POV:
I went home, running my my hands through my hair in frustration.
What just happened was... Fucked up.
What the hell Kenzie doing with that.. Guy? And what's Louis' problem?
"You weren't gone long," my mother said, upon my entrance to the living room.
"Oh.. Yeah. I suppose not.." Was all I could think of to say.
"Is there a reason?" She pressed.
"No. Not really." I said, nonchalantly.
"Are things okay between you two?" She asked.
"Yes mom, things are just grand" I said, sincerely.
Fortunately she bought it, because I didn't feel like talking about anything.
But then I thought.. Should i try to talk to Kenzie?
I liked her of course, and I thought she liked me. Until today, that is.
I went upstairs, and forced myself to dial her number.
Julia's POV:
Niall and I had finished eating, and were now sitting by the small river near where we ate.
I sat with my hands intertwined with Niall's, our feet in an entangled mess.
"You know what?" Niall asked.
"Hmm?" I softly replied.
"If I were to jump in this river, right here, right now, you'd come with me," He explained.
"Niall don't even think-"
But before I could finish, he did just that.
-Hours later-
I quietly opened the front door, trying to avoid my mother.
"Where have you been young lady?" She snapped.
"Out with Harry, why?" I asked, nervously.
"Because his Melinda called about an hour ago saying Harry was at home. Is everything okay between you two?" She asked.
I nodded.
"So where have you been for the last hour?" She pressed.
I couldn't lie...I never lie... But if I don't lie...
"Lilly's," I said quickly, not allowing me to think anymore.
"Lilly's mother could beg to differ," She said.
Damn damn damn damn..
"I went to Lilly's but.. Her mother wasn't there." Did that sound believable?
"I trust your not lying to me, Julia. And why in the bloody hell are you wet?" She asked.
"I.. Feel in a river. Clumsy me," I said. That wasn't really a lie. I mean I did fall into a river.
My mother sighed heavily and I walked upstairs.
I shut my door and leaned against it.
I just lied to my mother. And it felt good.
I'm such a rebel. A rebel with a boyfriend, that is.
