Like Crazy

Everyone thinks Julia Parker is perfect, but she is nothing close.
She is soon to be facing an arranged Marriage to her dad's close friends son, Harry Styles, though Julia wants nothing to do with him.
But, through Harry she meets Niall who she falls head over heals in love with.
They begin doing things behind Harry's back, and when he finds out, they devise a plan.
But with the wedding coming up, Julia is worried there won't be a way out.
But she can't marry Harry.
Because of Niall.
She needs him, she wants him, she loves him, like crazy.

21. "Being friends?"

"This house is so cute," Julia muttered, walking down the hallways and observing every inch.
I scoffed.
It wasn't nearly as big as her house, yet she seemed extremely enthused.
"This one is my room," she declared, walking into a beautiful room that had floor to ceiling windows, over looking the ocean.
"No fair," I pouted.
"I called it," she smiled.
"You're being childish." I retorted.
" Whatever its mine. Go find the other one," she said dismissively.
I took my time, observing every inch of the house before arriving at the second bedroom.
It was noticeably smaller, with no floor to ceiling windows, but it was still beautiful.
This trip hadn't exactly started out swimmingly, and if the rest of the week was going to be like this, I wasn't sure what I would do.
I walked into the kitchen, pleased to see it had been previously stocked with food.
"I know, it's adorable. I'll send you pictures. Yes! I really miss you," Julia's voice echoed as she walked into kitchen as well.
"Alright. Okay. Love you too. Muah," she hung up and I gave her a questioning look.
"..already talking to Niall?"
I didn't know why her and Niall being together bothered me so much, but it did.
I felt bad, because she doesn't care that I'm with Kenzie... But a piece of me wants Julia, and I think it always will.
"Um yeah," she replied quietly.
It was quiet for a second before she spoke up.
"I'm going swimming,"
"Obviously," I muttered, looking down at the bikini she was dressed in.
"Whatever, Harry. Bye," she said, snatching her towel from the counter and walking outside.
It was nearly dark, and I was worried about her being alone.
Don't ask me why.
I quickly threw on my swim shorts before heading to the pool in the back of the house.
We were beachfront and there was an added pool, either one within walking distance.
I saw her in the hot tub, eyes closed.
I quietly walked over, not wanting to disturb her.
Quiet as I tried to be, her eyes shot open.
"Shit, Harry!" She cried.
"Sorry..." I muttered.
She opened her mouth to speak, but i cut her off, "Can we talk?"
"Fine," she sighed.
"Look," I said, sitting next to her, "Like it or not were going to start having to spend a lot of time together.. And I don't want it to be awkward and I don't want you to act like you hate me... Could we try.. Being friends?"
She looked down.
"I'm sorry. And your right." Her voice picked up firmness, "But to be FRIENDS there can beno flirting, no touching and no kissing unless my parents are around, I have a boyfriend."
"And I have a girlfriend,"
"You made up?!" She squealed with excitement.
I nodded, blushing.
Guys didn't exactly talk about this kind of thing.
"Yay!!" She clapped.
I laughed, "you're a great girl, Julia. I'm glad we can be friends ,"
"You're a great guy too Harry. And so am I."
We smiled at each other.
Being friends was going to be difficult...
Julia's POV:
"Niall it's the green button!" I ordered.
He was trying to Skype call me, but his technology skills were scarce and it was quite difficult to help over the phone.
"I see it... Ok... I got this!"
My computer flashed, signaling an incoming call.
I hung up the phone and accepted.
"YES I DID IT!" He exclaimed, making me laugh.

"Hey baby," I said.
"Hello, beautiful,"
I blushed.
"I want to hug you." He pouted.
I laughed again as he came up and hugged the webcam.
"How's Hawaii?"
"Beautiful. Waaay less crowded, that's for sure.
Niall's POV:
I smiled as she gushed about Hawaii.
I sat there, just taking her in. My thoughts then wondered to the letter.. Should I tell her now?
Now didn't seem like a good time… but when would be a good time to tell her I'm going 5,000 miles away for four years?
•That morning•
The first thing I did when I woke was look over at my calendar.
Today could be the day.
Or not... Maybe.
I was nervous already, I'm sure the mail wasn't even here yet.
But if the letter didn't come today, it wouldn't be coming at all.
I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down before trotting down the stairs in search of breakfast.
To my surprise, my mother was already in the kitchen, wearing a bright smile.
I gave her a questioning look before she quickly said, "You got a letter from that college in London!"
Okay then. I guess the mail had come.
Despite my hunger, she through the letter into my hands.
Now I didn't want to open it.
Crazy as it sounds, my whole future laid in the contents of this thick envelope.
Wait, it was thick. That was good news right?
What if I got in?
What would happen to Julia and I?
Long distance relationships never work out, and it would be a bit difficult and expensive to fly from London to New York on weekends on holidays.
"Well, go on then!" My mother said, finally.
I nodded and with a shaking hand, opened the letter.
Niall Horan,
I am pleased to inform you that you have been accepted to the University of London!"
I dropped the letter on the counter in utter shock.
I couldn't move... I didn't know what to do.
I did it.
I got in.
My mother interpreted this as bad news, and with a frown, picked up the letter.
A smile quickly appeared on her face as she squealed and hugged me.
She hasn't hugged me in years, I thought.
She's probably excited to get rid of me.
But who cares, I was going to London.
•End flashback•
I decided I needed to tell her now.
I wasn't keen on keeping secrets, and I was sure she'd be happy for me.
"So what's new with you? I've been talking your ear off," she laughed.
"Um.. I actually have something to tell you," I said, rubbing my neck nervously.
"What is it?" She asked.
"You know that college I was talking about in London? Well, I got accepted."
There was a moment of silence.
Maybe she didn't hear me..
"NIALL! That's amazing!!" She screeched.
I stand corrected.
"Thanks," I blushed.
"I am SO happy for you!" She smiled.
"Can you keep it down please?!" Someone, Harry I assumed, yelled.
She rolled her eyes dramatically, making me laugh.
It reassured me to know Harry was annoying and Not attracting her.
I knew how Harry could be.
"How's it going with you two?" I asked, sleepily.
"Just six more days..." She sighed.
I laughed.
"I should go," she pouted, looking over at the clock.
It was quiet again.
"Niall.. Are you.. Going to London?" She asked carefully.
I sighed, "Right now.. I really don't know,"
"I love you, Niall. No matter what," she said.
"I love you more," I responded.
"Oh hell no you don't," she scoffed.
I laughed, she was so competitive.
"I think I do," I said.
"Don't push me, Horan"
She said it in such a serious tone I could barely hold back my laughter.
"Fine! I love you as much as you love me." I said.
"Goodnight, Nialler,"
"Goodnight Juliaaaaa" I said, dragging out the a like I always did.
She smiled again, and I sat there until the computer screen faded to black.
Was I going to London?
