18. The Jellyfish Peril

I slithered my way through the crowd of beach visitors, trying to make my way to the changing tent. Only when I got close did I realize there was a huge line. Scouring the line, I finally found Niall in the mid-back. He stood, tapping his feet.

"I'm about to change right here!" He shouted.

I laughed, and upon hearing me, Niall turned and hugged me.

"Thank God! Okay, you cover me up and I'll change," he said, obviously frustrated with the length of the wait for a changing tent.

"Niall, it's moving pretty fast, just wait a little. I'll be down by the beach, swimming a bit,"

"Yeah. I've swam in normal clothes before,"

As I was near departure, Niall slid his hand onto my hip and kissing me passionately on the lips. I was unaware of the length of the kiss, only that he was putting everything into it.

"Bye love, have fun on the beach," he smiled and moved up in the line.

Oh, so we're doing that now? Kissing goodbye? I didn't have a problem with it, but... Wow. That was one kiss there.

I turned and walked to the beach, sliding off my shoes and hiding them in a crevice of sand near the parking lot entrance. For some reason, the beach was starting to clear of the little kids and was becoming overpopulated by other teens.

I got to the water, an felt as the water brushed lightly over my feet, leaving them wet and salty. The sun bounced shades of orange and red off of the ocean water, and in the distance, para sailors' silhouetted bodies were gliding against the smooth waves.

I continued to wade out to the middle of the ocean, leaving behind the land of sand. With Niall, Alan, my parents, school, Aj and Zayn, all my problems.

Near my feet, I felt a brush of seaweed against my leg. Without warning, a stinging sensation ran up my leg and I let out a scream. I tried to run back to shore, but I suddenly tripped over my own pain. I remembered everything up until my face hit the water.

I woke up later in someone's arms.
