20. The Stranger

I woke up the next morning, showered, got dressed, and headed out to buy some more stuff for my house. I know I probably don’t need anything else, but I decided to get some new stuff, and restock some of the other stuff. When I finally finished my shopping, I went home and started unloading my things. When I was done, I jumped because Regina was standing there.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you.” Regina said as I tried to calm my breathing.

“It’s ok, just next time, say something so I’ll know your there.” I said back with a smile.

“I’ll remember that.” Regina said with a smile of her own as we went into my house.

Regina and talked for quite some time, and I couldn’t believe the things she was telling me that Henry and Mary-Margaret said to her. I knew she deserved to be punished for her actions, and I’m glad that Mary-Margaret was taking the high road, but I’m still shocked about what Henry told her.

I didn’t say anything because I didn’t know what would happen if I did, but I was shocked when Regina asked me something that I wasn’t expecting.

“Why don’t you come over for dinner?” Regina asked.

“Oh, I don’t know, Regina.” I replied while trying to be nice.

“It’ll be fine, and I do make a mean lasagna.” Regina said with a smile.

I didn’t want to hurt her feelings by declining, so I did the only thing I could think of.

“Dinner sounds wonderful. Do I need to bring anything?” I said, and I wanted to be safe rather than sorry.

“You don’t have to bring anything, except your appetite.” Regina replied with a smile.

I then walked Regina to the door, and told her that I would see her later for dinner. I hope that I don’t regret this decision, but this dinner might just help me in the end.

I cleaned the house up a bit before heading over to Regina’s. When I got to the door, I was shocked to see that it was already open, and that David was standing there. I was happy to see him, and I guess the same thing could be said about him for me because we both smiled when we noticed each other.

“I didn’t know you were coming.” I said as I hugged David.

“Regina insisted that I stay for dinner, and who could pass up free food.” David said with a laugh as he hugged me back.

I laughed at that comment, and was thankful that I wouldn’t have to sit with Regina, alone. Now, don’t get me wrong, I like the woman, but she can be vicious when she wants to, and I don’t want to be on the receiving end of it. Dinner was wonderful, and when it was time to go, David offered to walk me home.

“So, what happened in the kitchen?” I asked because I knew that something was up just by the way that they were acting.

“Regina kissed me. Well, tried to kiss me.” David replied.

“Really?” I asked in shock.

“Yeah, but I turned away from her, but it was awkward after that.” David replied.

I shuddered after that, but I told David that maybe Regina was lonely, and thought that she could try to get with him. I was glad that David turned Regina down, but I was also afraid of what she would do to him too. I told David that I hoped everything worked out with him and Mary-Margaret.

David went home after that, and I hope that everything does work out because I don’t think that Emma and I can take a big hit from anything.
