4. Text Book

Lacey's P.O.V

It was the fourth period of the day and also the only class I had without one of the boys. Biology.

I walked into the classroom and recognised some people as they were in my other classes but still felt completely out of place. I shuffled to an empty desk in the second row, next to a boy with blonde hair and deep, ocean blue eyes.

Just as I sat down, the teacher bumbled into the classroom dropping her bag onto the desk.

"Good morning class," she said. "Sorry I'm late, I was talking to the principal. He has moved your biology exam to Thursday, which is two days away, so we have a lot of studying to do. Please take out your text books and read over chapter 7."

I leant over to get my bag and realised I had left my text book in my locker. Damn. Just as I was about to put my hand up to ask to retrieve it, the boy next to me tapped me on the shoulder.

"You can share with me, if you want." He whispered.

I nodded and shuffled my chair next to his. He opened up to Chapter 7 and started reading.

"My name's Niall, by the way," he whispered, turning towards me.

"Lacey," I whispered back.

He stuck his hand out under the table and smiled at me. I smiled back and shook his hand discreetly under the table. As I looked back into the book I saw a light pink blush crawl up his cheeks. Aw.

I didn't understand anything written on that page, so started thinking about this school. I didn't really know what Harry, Louis and Zayn's reputations were here but I had a feeling they weren't good. I reached over to my desk and ripped out a piece of paper. I wrote:

Niall, This is a weird question but what are Harry, Louis and Zayn's rep here?

I folded it in half and put it on his lap. He looked down immediately and picked it up. While reading it he showed no emotion what so ever. I didn't know what he was thinking. He then reached into his pencil case, retrieved a pen and started writing his reply on the back. After he had finished, he tossed it in front of me. It read:

Well, all the girls want them and all the guys want to be them. They try to uphold the 'bad boy' rep but they act like total douches while doing it. I personally don't like them but others think different.

Ok. I ripped out another page out of my book and wrote back.

What do they do that make them act like douches? And sorry for all the questions about them. They're my 'buddies' till the end of the week.

I placed it in front of him and turned back to the text book. He read it again emotionless and started replying.

Wow! It's good to see them helping people other than themselves but I'm sorry you had to get paired with them :( They constantly back chat the teachers and beat guys up because they can They also use girls for a week and dump them in behind the stands in the stadium . Then they just walk away, leaving the girls balling their eyes out. Girls deserve better than that.

I picked up the note. Aw, he will make some girl the perfect husband some day.

I started to scribble my reply on the back when the teacher raised her eyebrow and said "Lacey is it? What are you writing?"

"Urm, just taking notes Miss, sorry." I replied nervously.

"Oh, that's ok then, continue." She said turning back to her laptop.

I finished scribbling Thankyou on the sheet and tossed it onto his lap again.

I started to read the text book. None of the words made any sense and I had no idea what I was even reading about. Thankfully for me the bell rang soon after. I thanked Niall for letting me use his text book and shoved my book into my bag. I then threw it over my shoulder and hurried out of the classroom.

I wanted to get to the bathroom before one of the guys saw me and took me to the cafeteria table with them. Unluckily for me though, Louis was leaning on the frame of my classroom door. I tried to push past unnoticed with the rest of the class but had no such luck.

He grabbed onto the back of my bag and said with a wink, "Didn't you see me, Hun? I skipped the last 5 minutes of Drama for you."

"Oh, sorry. I didn't even see you standing there in my rush to the bathroom." I said. It was only partly true, but he didn't need to know that.

"Oh, do you want me to walk you there?" He said kind of awkwardly.

"Urm, you don't have too. I might be a while." I said. I was starting to imagine the blood seeping out, and was suddenly in a rush.

"I'll meet you and the boys at the cafeteria. I really have to go." I rushed to the bathroom and turned into the first stall. I put my bag on the ground and pulled down my pants. Oh my god. It turns out it wasn't my imagination at all.
