4. With her

I was pacing in the hall when the doorbell rang. I rushed toward the door and opened it abruptly, making Sameerah jump.

“Sorry,” I apologized, “I was too impatient to see you!” She giggled as I push myself aside to let her walk in.

“Don’t tell me you have waiting in the hall for me since you send a text?” She stared at me agape. I moved closer toward her, put my arm around her neck and whispered, “Of course I did.”

She smiled before pressing her soft lips against mine.

We heard footsteps and Simon’s voice shouted “Don’t stay here! There are other people living in that house!” Sameerah blushed and I stuck my tongue at him, making him burst out laughing.

“We’ll go away then!” I took her hand and led her to the living-room.

“What did you say to Liam by the way?” I asked her anxiously.

“I told him I was going at a friend’s to do some science project about geology; he didn’t ask any other question and let me go without suspecting anything!!” I smiled widely at her; everything was alright then!

I held her in my arms and asked her what she wanted to do. She looked up at me and replied with a radiant smile on his face, “Why don’t we go and drink a milkshake?” I didn’t know what to answer; I didn’t think going out would be a good idea. What if we met her brother?

“Don’t worry; Liam went to a training session and he always stay there many hours,” she told me; she seemed to have read my mind. I nodded; feeling less nervous; knowing Liam would be nowhere to be seen was a huge relief. She took my hand in hers and I followed her outside; I could feel the warmth of her skin against mine. I wished to never release her hand.

We slowly made our way to reach the place; we talked, we laughed. I loved her more and more as every minutes went by. Once there, we bought two milkshakes and went to the nearest park where we sat on a bench to drink.

Hours flew quicker than ever and we started to walk back to my house; sadness filling me at every step. I didn’t want to let her go; it was too painful to spend time away from her.

We finally reached it and it was time to say her goodbye. Suddenly, her phone rang; she had received a text. She looked at her phone and turned pale. She held her phone out and showed me the screen.

Come back home. Now! We have to talk.

It was from Liam.
