Chapter 97

Harry’s POV

Once Liv and I had walked inside my house, I walked into the living room, and Liv followed me. I sat down on the recliner, and she went ahead and just sat on the couch. I could tell that the silence was killing her. I knew she wanted me to just straight up tell her what all happened in the meeting, but I just couldn’t bring myself to do it right now. I was just so pissed at everyone in that office building. What they asked of me to do really wasn’t too big of a deal, yet it bothered me so much. I’m pretty sure that was their goal anyway. The good thing about it is I’m guessing that it is my punishment. So Liv was right when she told me they weren’t going to do anything too drastic. What they did was just annoying and unfair.

As I continued to hold off on breaking the silence with Liv right now, I decided to go ahead and check my phone. I took it out of my pocket and turned it back on, since I turned it off before I went into the meeting to avoid any more confrontation with everyone in the room. With them I never knew what was going to bother them, and they were already mad at me for everything that’s happened, and for bringing Liv. I didn’t need them starting riot just because my phone ringed or something. As the turned on and the screen lit up, I waited for the Internet connection to start up with my phone before my notifications would show up in the screen.

Once my phone was connected, I saw I had some notifications appear in the screen. The first few were just social media that I would deal with later. The next few were texts from Louis, and I think maybe a few in the group chat. Another notification had shown up and taken the spot of the other text before I had gotten to read the name, but I’m guessing it was the group chat. I’m glad I turned my phone off though, because I might have gotten more then just those two texts, and sometimes the social media notifications make some noises too.

Once my phone opened to the message app, I looked at the names that I had gotten texts from, and just as I thought it was from Louis and then someone in the groups chat. I opened the group chat first because that one was less likely to stress me out, because I knew Louis’ text was going to be about the meeting. Once I opened the group chat, I realized it was just all the boys talking amongst themselves.

One of the messages Niall had sent was directed towards me, but I’d just answer it later. I went ahead and just finally opened Louis’ text. His text is just what I suspected it would be, it was asking how the meeting went and what all happened. As much as I don’t feel like talking about it and explaining everything, I’m just glad this is one of those situations where only two people are going to ask me what happened. Most of the time, all the boys know about why one of us had to go to a meeting, and then they all decide to ask at different times what happened.

I went ahead and texted Louis and told him I was just going to tell him everything that happened in just on long text. That resulted in him asking why I couldn’t just call him, and I had to explain to him that Liv was here. I knew I could just have Louis on speaker phone and tell them both at the same time, but then both of them would most likely have a bunch of questions, and its just easier to answer them at separate times instead of both of them at once.

I soon started my text to Louis, trying my best to summarize as I much as I could to make the long text shorter by leaving out unnecessary details. I knew that I probably should’ve told Liv first, because she has been waiting longer to know what happened, and Louis just sent that text maybe twenty minutes ago. But I decided just to tell Louis first what I was planning to tell Liv and just see how he reacts to it. Plus Louis was probably the one who might get mad at me, so I just wanted to get telling him over with. I didn’t want to tell him that I ratted him out to management about telling Liv, but if I didn’t tell him and management contacted him about it saying I told them, he’d be even more mad at me that I hadn’t said to him that I told them in the first place.

After I finished typing my text out, I skimmed through what I had typed and then sent it to Louis. Once it was sent, I set my phone down next to me, because I knew it might take awhile for Louis to read the text and then come up with a response. I looked over at Liv who looked bored as hell. She was messing with her fingers and just aimlessly looking around the room, trying to find something interesting to look at I assumed. As I was watching her, I felt my stomach make a weird noise, and I realized I haven’t eaten since lunch. I told myself to stop moping as I walked over to the couch Liv was sitting on, and sat next to her.

“Do you want some dinner?” I asked her.

She turned to face me and nodded and then we both got up from the couch.

A couple hours had passed since Liv and I finished dinner, and we were currently sitting on the couch watching TV. The silence between us hadn’t subsided very much; we were still talking to each other though. Liv was just not talking as much as I knew she wanted to because she probably wasn’t sure of my mood and how much I wanted to talk. I knew she was dying to ask me about the meeting, but she wasn’t sure how to bring it up. I didn’t really now how to bring it up either. I wished I would’ve just told her about everything in the car because that’s when we were silently on the topic of the meeting. Louis’ reply to my text gave me more assurance of what I was going to say though. Luckily he wasn’t angry that I told them about him being the one to tell Liv. He said he’d gladly take the punishment that they would give him, because he did tell her and she needed to know.

Liv and I continued to watch the TV in silence; it wasn’t until I saw her yawn that I decided to check the time. I was surprised to see that it was almost eleven now, I didn’t think we’d been watching TV for so long. I sat up a bit and cleared my throat before I spoke,

“Hey Liv,” I said, and her head quickly turned to face me.

“It’s pretty late now, so do you want to stay here or do you want to go back to your apartment?” I asked. “Well what would you prefer?” she asked me.

“I’d like it if you’d stay here,” I answered.

“Ok, then I’ll stay,”

We both, decided to go ahead and get ready for bed. I did what I always did when Liv stayed over with notice, and gave her one of my shirts and some shorts. After rummaging through different drawers in my bathroom, I finally found an unused and unopened toothbrush for Liv to use.

Once we finished doing everything we needed to do to getting ready for bed, we both crawled under the covers of my bed. I was about to turn off the lamp that was lighting the room when Liv stopped me.

“Wait,” she said.

“What?” I asked her took my hand off the lamp switch.

“Can you please tell me what happened in the meeting, I can’t wait any longer to know,” I nodded in reply to her question and sat up on the bed, as did she.

I explained the small amount of things that happened before she was told to go to the lobby, and then the large amount of events that occurred afterwards.

“They seem like jerks,” Liv said once I finished.

“They’re not always like that, but when they are, they’re cruel. Especially since I was in a shitload of trouble with them,” I told her.

“So what was your punishment?” she asked.

This was the part that made me so angry and pouty, because it wasn’t fair. I let out a large sigh before telling her,

“They want me to come back for meetings again,” I told her.

“Like the way it was before?” she asked me, and I nodded.

“But that whole deal thing is off isn’t it? I already know about it,”

“They want to continue giving me advice,” I told her.

“On what? How to date someone?” she asked.

“Who knows,” I said and laid back onto my pillow.

“Then don’t show up to the meetings,” she told me.

“Are you crazy? I have to,”

“No you don’t, just tell them you aren’t coming to the stupid meetings. What are they going to do, take you out of the band? They won’t do that,” she continued on her small rant like she had had in the elevator earlier today.

“Okay, okay, I get it,” I said just to get her to stop, “I won’t go,” I told her.

“You better not,” she said, and got back under the covers next to me.

I turned to switch the lamp off, then got back under the covers, and wrapped an around Liv. I was so thankful to have her here next to me, despite everything we went through, she’s still here, and she was still mine the whole time.
