Chapter 96

Liv’s POV

I was still on the couch, feet on the floor, and playing on my phone. The meeting seemed to be taking forever, but it really only seemed that way because of how nervous I was for both Harry and me. I heard someone stomping against the tile as they walked; I looked up and saw Harry storming around the lobby with a somewhat angry look on his face. He seemed to me looking for me, clearly not thinking to look in the place where he had wanted me to stay in the first place. I picked up my purse, and stood up to begin walking over to him.

“Harry,” I said as I neared him.

As I got closer to him a noticed what I thought was a somewhat angry expression was actually a very angry and probably irritated looked on his face.

“Are you okay?” I asked, walking up next to him.

“Let’s just go,” he mumbled with clear frustration in his voice.

Before I could say anything else, he grabbed my hand and quickly began to walk out of the building. I struggled to keep up with him, but I managed. I didn’t want to tell him to walk slow and disrupt his rant of walking fast, probably just trying to get out of this building as quick as he can, and I don’t blame him for that. We made it out of the building, and I now regret parking further away from the entrance then I could’ve.

Harry slowed down a bit now that we were out of the building, so now I could catch up him up easier. I really wanted to ask him what was wrong, and what wet on in there that is making up seem so worked up. I decided that I should just wait until we are in the car before I ask him any questions, it just seems like a better environment, and he might calm down a bit more once he’s in the car and on the road away from the building.

We eventually reach the car, and I grabbed my keys out of my purse as fast as I could once I saw Harry impatiently waiting in front of the passenger side door. I finally found the keys in my purse and I pressed the unlock button. Just as I unlocked the doors, not even a second later Harry had his door open and was inside with his arms crossed. I rolled my eyes at him and sighed once I realized he was now pouting. I guess that’s better than Harry being furious and probably end up with a bloody hand by punching something in the car by the time he got home. I walked over to the driver’s side of the car and got inside, then I put the keys in and started up the car.

As I backed out and began to start driving on the road, I had to stop myself from already asking Harry what happened. As much as I wanted to know right away what happened, I knew it would be best to wait. I wanted Harry to be out of his angry and pouting mood as much as possible before I started talking to him.

The newfound silence was starting to bother me a bit more than it should as I drove away from the building. I hesitated turning the radio on before I finally just put my hand on the knob and turned it on, only for Harry to turn it back off seconds later. I guess the silent state of the car wasn’t bothering him as much as it was bothering me. I was fighting back and forth with myself as I still tried to decide whether or not to say something to Harry.

He obviously is okay with the silence, but I wondered if it was just the radio he wanted off, or just noise in the car altogether. I went ahead and just tried to stop thinking about the topic for a while and just focused on my driving.

Harry hadn’t given me his phone as a GPS this time, and I doubt he’s really paying attention to where we are going to see if we’re going the right way. So I really had to pay close attention and know where I’m going. I was tempted to ask Harry if I could use his phone or if he could set up the GPS on my phone, and once again I decided against speaking right now. Plus I could probably figure it out on my own, I drove this way before, I can figure my way back. As much as I enjoy having Harry’s car as my own for a while, these are the times I wish he were driving or even just being in a taxi would be fine with me.

Driving definitely was not one of my strengths. It’s even harder to drive when you have someone in the passenger seat that was just in a car wreck a few days ago. I know I’m probably not going to get in a car wreck, but I’m still worried because you never know when it comes to driving, especially when you’re not very good. Nevertheless, I continue driving, and so far I’m pretty sure I was on the right road and going the right way back to Harry’s house, but I wasn’t sure. I finally quit arguing back and forth with myself and decided just to ask Harry.

“Harry,” I said and turned my head to face him before quickly facing back to the road.

“I’ll talk about it later,” he mumbled, assuming that I was going to ask him about the meeting and what happened during it.

“I wasn’t going to ask you about it, I was going to ask something else,” I told him.

“Okay, what?” he continued to mumbled as his head was leaned against the glass window.

“I just wanted to make sure I was going the right way,” I said to him.

“Yeah,” he said, “You are,”

“Okay, I just wanted to make sure,” It was quiet after that, just as I had expected it to me.

I wished the small conversation would’ve lasted a bit longer right now, but I knew it wouldn’t, and it didn’t. I wish he would’ve offered the GPS since I had asked about directions, but I guess I can’t blame him for not offering. He seems to have a lot on his mind right now and probably didn’t think to set up the GPS.

After awhile longer of driving, I finally reached the familiar area of Harry’s neighborhood. I drove down the road with the familiar houses that surround Harry’s. I soon reached his house, and pulled up into the driveway. I parked the car in the driveway, and took the keys out of the car. “We’re here,” I told Harry once I saw that he wasn’t up getting out of the car. His head just stayed leaned against the car window. I was about to say something to him again, but then I saw him move a bit and he lifted his head up.

He weakly began to open the car door, so I went ahead and opened my door and got out. I joined Harry on the other side of the car as he was closing the door behind him. It pained me to see that the look of anger on his face was now replaced with what seemed like dismay and still irritation. I slipped the keys back into my purse, and waited for Harry to start walking inside, and I followed next to him once he began walking up to his front door.

He took his house key out of his pocket, and put it into the lock and turned it. He slid the key back into his pocket once the door was unlocked, and then he turned the knob and opened the door and we both walked inside the house.
