Chapter 9

Harry’s POV

Niall finished his call with Liv and came back to the table.

“How’d it go?” I asked.

“Well she’s not mad at me,” he said.

“That’s good, what about me?” I asked.

“Oh she hates you,” he smiled.

“I’m not to fond of her either,” I said.

Niall rolled his eyes and said, “Don’t lie to yourself Harry,”

“Seriously how did the phone call go?” I asked again.

“She said she’d consider at least being friends with you, and I can’t take you with me every time her and me go do something.” he told me, and I just nodded my head in response.

A few minutes later the waiter came with Niall and I’s food. He had Liv’s as well, so we told him she left so he took her plate headed off. Niall and I began talking again as we ate our food. He dropped the topic of Liv for a while because he knew it was still a sore spot for me to talk about too much.

Niall and I continued to enjoy our food, and as we were about finished my phone vibrated on the table. I set down the remainder of my sandwich to pick it up.

“Who texted you?” Niall asked.

“Louis,” I said as I was reading the name.

I opened up the text to read it.

“He said he needs me for something,” I told Niall.

“What does he need you for?” he asked confused.

“I’m not sure,” I said equally as confused. I texted him back asking what he needed. He replied seconds later,

“He has something he needs to tell me,” I said.

“Why can’t he just text you what he needs to tell you?” Niall asked, saying the question that was going through my min right now.

“I’ll ask,” I tell Niall as I type the question and press send.

After I sent the text Niall and I began talking again, it took Louis longer to answer this time. We stopped talking once I heard my phone vibrate. I opened up text and told Niall what it said after I read it.

“Louis said just to come over and he’ll explain.” I said.

“Well he’s acting weird,” Niall said.

“He is,” I agreed

“And that just makes me want to go over there and figure out what’s going on,” I added.

“I don’t blame you, go ahead and go.” Niall said.

“Thanks,” I told him and handed him some money to pay for my food, setting it down next to Liv’s.

I felt bad that Liv and me had both left Niall, but I had to figure out what was going on with Louis, Liv just left because I came.

When I walked out of the café, it was already starting to get dark outside. Nevertheless I went to my car and unlocked it. I got in and started it up before driving to Louis’ place.

Liv’s POV

I was finishing my meal at the seafood place, and the food here was amazing. The waiter came by with my check and took my plate and cup. I thanked him as I grabbed the black leather book with my check inside. I opened it up and slipped a credit card inside the clear pocket and set it on the end of the table as I waited for the waiter to come by and pick it up.

After a few minutes the waiter had come by to pick up my payment and was currently bringing it back. I thank him again and got up from my seat at the table and left the restaurant. I made my way across the lobby and to the elevators. I quickly sped up once I noticed one of the elevators beginning to close. I slid my body threw the closing doors. Sighing with relief once I made it in, happy that I didn’t have to wait for another one to come.

I jumped when I heard a voice, “Hey Olivia,” I heard the voice say.

“Oh hey,” I said, still startled as I turned to see who was talking to me.

“Did I scare you?” Nick asked.

“Yeah, a little,” I said.

“I didn’t know you were in the elevator,” I told him.

“Well I guess it’s kind of the other way around now,” he chuckled.

“What do you mean?” I asked not quite getting what he was hinting at.

“You know the other night, when I got into the elevator at the last second and you were in here,” he explained.

“Oh yeah, I remember now,” I said.

“So how was the café with your cousin?” he asked.

“Um…” I thought about it for a second, contemplating on whether I should talk about my problems to a complete stranger, or just lie. “It was okay I guess,” I told him.

“You don’t seem so sure about that,” he said.

“It just didn’t go the way I thought it was going to go,” I said.

“What happened?” he asked.

“I’m not trying to come off as rude, but I don’t really know you so I don’t feel comfortable telling you about my problems,” I said as politely as I could.

“Oh sorry, I just thought it might feel better to talk about it and I might be able to help,” he said and he looked a bit upset so I decided I might as well tell him considering it might help.

I sighed, “It’s just that my cousin invited my ex-boyfriend to the café,” I said keeping it simple. It felt weird calling Harry that, I don't think I've ever called him my ex-boyfriend before even though he was.

“Was it Harry?” he asked.

“How did you know that?” I asked, confused on the fact that he knew this information.

“Its all over the media websites,” he said.

“What?” I asked alarmed.

“Well not what you told me, but pictures and assumptions are all over,” he told me as he held out his phone showing my one of the articles.

Just as I began looking at it, the elevator arrived at the floor.

“I have to go,” I said and scurried out of the elevator and towards my room.

I stopped in front of my and quickly dug through my purse, looking for my key card. After a few frustrating seconds I finally found it. I opened my door and walked in, shutting the door behind me. I quickly went to my bedroom, throwing my purse on the living room couch in the process. Once I got into the bedroom, I grabbed my laptop and sat down on the bed.

I opened up the computer and clicked on the Internet icon and typed my name in the search bar, and sure enough Nick was right. I looked through the articles that were already posted. Right now there were only about three, but I’m sure tomorrow once word gets around there will be more.

I clicked on one of them and began to read it. It showed pictures of Niall in front of the café, and pictures of me getting out of Nick’s car and joining Niall. There were also pictures of Harry walking into the café and pictures of me leaving. That article being mostly pictures, I opened up another one. This one had the same pictures, but also had a few others of a close up on Nick and me being in his car. I ran a hand through my hair,

“Oh my goodness,” I mumbled out loud to myself.

This is just great, the media thinks I’m hanging out with Harry again and possibly dating him, and to make it worse they drag Nick into it all too. I hardly know him and the media has already grabbed him and made him an item in my life even though he wasn't.
