Still Mine

What if someone said something to you, trying to discourage you from following your dreams. Would you give up on that dream? Or would you follow that dream and prove them wrong. What if the person who tired to discourage you came to an event of your dream that is now reality and tried to win you back?

My name is Olivia Wilson, and I know what I'd do.

Chapter 8

Liv’s POV

I couldn’t believe Niall, why on earth would he invite Harry. I walked out of the restaurant and realized I didn’t have a ride home. I was not going to go back in there though. I’d look pathetic going back in there asking for a ride home. Also I didn’t feel like seeing both of them right now, mostly Harry. I know Niall was just trying to help Harry and I not be furious with each other anymore, but we don’t need any help, what’s done is done.

I walked out of the small parking lot and walked down the sidewalk leading to the rode and tried to catch a taxi. There were less people here so it was easier to catch one. After about three failed attempts, I finally caught a taxi. I quickly got in and told the driver the name of the building I was staying in. The driver nodded and began to drive. As he was driving, I leaned my head against the window and began to look outside.

As I was watching all the kids playing at the park we were driving by, I heard my phone ring from my purse. I lifted my head from the window and opened my purse to grab the ringing phone. I looked at the contact name and it was Niall calling, I decided just to accept the call.

“Hey Liv,” he said.

“Hey,” I said back.

“Look I’m sorry about what happened,” he told me.

“It’s okay,” I lied.

“No its not, I just miss you and Harry together,” he said.

“I know Niall,”

“I just thought since its been a few years, you both won’t get into an argument,” he explained.

“It’s sweet that you tried Niall, but I don’t think Harry and I will be getting back together.” I told him.

“I know, but what about being friends?” he suggested with a bit of hope in his voice.

“I honestly don’t know Niall, it all depends on how Harry handles himself considering he likes to constantly pick fights with me when he’s mad.” I explained.

“So I can still have hope with the thought of you both being friends?” he asked.

“If it makes you feel better then yes, but don’t get your hopes to high. Also don’t bring him along every time we have something planned.” I tell him.

“Okay,” he agrees.

“Well I have to go now. I’ll talk to you later,” I say.

“Okay bye,” he says.

“Bye,” I say back and then hang up.

The taxi driver had drove up to the curb in front of the building. I grabbed my wallet and paid him the amount that was on the small monitor. I then thanked him and got out of the taxi. I was walked inside and began to head to the elevators when I realized I hadn’t eaten anything today. I was so occupied with everything else that I didn’t realize how hungry I was and didn’t have the taxi driver take me to a restaurant.

I guess that is a good thing because I’d have the hassle of having to catch another taxi, because I doubt he would have waited outside plus that would’ve been a hell of a bill. I started walking over to the front desk to ask if there was any good places to eat within walking distance when I spotted some formal restaurants towards the back of the lobby.

I mentally gave the creator of this apartment a pat on the back, this place was phenomenal. I went over to the two restaurants, I decided on the seafood place. The other one was just a regular formal restaurant.

I walked up to the podium in front of the seafood restaurant to get a table so I could finally eat and tame my hunger.

Harry’s POV

“That was not supposed to go like that,” Niall mumbled softly

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“I mean that you and Liv were supposed to get along,” he told me.

“What made you think that?” I asked.

“I don’t know, I thought that some of your feelings for Liv may have come back when you saw her last night,” he said.

“Again I ask what made you think that?” I asked again as I moved to the other side of the booth to sit across from him.

“Well your eyes lit up when you saw her yesterday and I figured if you were just nice to her instead of picking a fight with her, she would come around and start to like you again.” he said.

“Well maybe she should just be nice to me instead,” I told him defensively.

“I hate to break it to you Harry, but the break up was your fault and you start arguments with her a lot.” he told me and as much as I hate to admit it, he was right.

I just sighed and sat back in my seat, that’s all he needed to know that he was right.

“W-What was Liv’s reaction when she saw me yesterday?” I hesitantly asked.

“Why?” he asked smiling really big.

“Don’t get all giddy and hopeful, I just want to know.” I told him.

“Well, her eyes didn’t light up as much as yours did, but she mostly just seemed shocked and surprised to see you there.” he told me.

“That’s it?” I asked.

“Well you have to remember she didn’t know you would be there so of course she was shocked. You however obviously knew she would be there so I got to see your reaction of just seeing her.” Niall smiled.

I started feel my cheeks heat up and I looked down at the table.

“See now you’re blushing,” Niall pestered.

“Stop Niall,” I said with a smile.

“Admit it you still like her,” Niall said.

“Maybe I do maybe I don’t.” I told him.

“I think you do, I think you’re developing a crush on her again.” Niall smiled.

“I don’t know if I am,” I told him.

“I’ll ask you again in a few weeks,” he joked.

“I’m probably not even going to be seeing her again, remember she hates me.” I told him.

“Well I’ll just bring you along every now and then when Liv and I go do something,” he said.

“Won’t she hate that, she’ll just leave.” I said.

“Well she didn’t leave today until you started an argument with her,”

“I guess,” I said.

“Just be nice to her Harry, nice, kind, friendly-“

“Niall, I get it I’ll be nice.” I said cutting him off.

“Okay good, I’m going to go call Liv, then we can enjoy lunch,” he said and I nodded.

He got up and went to the back of the café; I could still see him considering how small the place was. He got out his phone and called Liv, I watched him start talking. I tried to figure out what he was saying, but as I figured out yesterday at the party, I was terrible at it. I saw his face fall little and I guessed he was trying to persuade Liv to like me again.

I stopped watching him and looked at the menu in front of me. I still hadn’t ordered yet, or even come close to figuring out what I want to eat. I picked up the menu to read all the food options after a moment or so I finally decided on one of the sandwiches. I saw a waiter a few tables away and once he finished with the family who was at the table, he turned around an I motioned for him to come over here. He made his way over to me,

“Yes can I help you?” he asked.

“Yeah, I’d like to order,” I said and told him the name of the sandwich and asked for a glass of water as well.

“That’ll be right out sir,” he said and I nodded.
