Chapter 77

Harry’s POV

Of course the tabloids would try to make something out of Liam and Liv hanging out. I knew they would, I had just forgotten about it, so this of course is bothering me much more than it would’ve if I had still been expecting it. Now almost the whole world things they’re dating, and that’s much worse then me just being paranoid that they were, or might. The tabloids are saying that is Liv the bad guy in our relationship because she is supposedly dating Liam and me. When in reality, I’m the one who messed up our relationship, but the media just hasn’t gotten the hint that we aren’t together anymore. I’m happy they don’t know yet, but with Liv, I’m surprised she hasn’t gone down to a tabloid and personally tell them we aren’t dating anymore. Hopefully for her more tabloids make take this whole Liam thing as a sign that we broke up instead of her cheating.

I wonder how all this is making Liv feel. She’s acting like it’s not bothering her, but I can almost tell it does. She always does this when it comes to media rumors about her. She’ll always act like she’s fine and not let people know it bothered her. Niall and I would almost have to force her to talk about it and tell us what was bothering her. Niall would tell her all about how she just shouldn’t listen to the media because it’s their job to create these rumors. Then I remember I would always tell her that if she wanted me to I would’ve gone down and beat up the bastards who started the rumor. She would just laugh like it was a joke, but I would’ve done it.

I watch Liv as she taps her foot up down and as she watches her black shoe move. Seemingly finding it more interesting than anything else. I knew she was just avoiding eye contact with us right now though. She knew we could see right through her when she tried to cover up, and not look up at us.

The three of us sat in silence for awhile until Liv’s phone started to ring. Niall and I looked at her as she looked at her phone and pressed the screen, then brought her phone up to her ear.

“Hello?’ she said into the phone, “Yeah, I saw it,” she continued talking into the phone.

Niall mouthed a ‘Who are you talking too?’ to her, but she just waved him off. She was now listening to the person on the other end of the call. She raised a finger to us signaling that she would be right back, and she got off the couch and headed to the door. Just as she was about to open the door, it was opened by someone else on the other side. Liv then walked out through the exit, hardly even acknowledging the doctors presence. The doctor watched her leave and seemed a bit surprised by Liv just going past him through the door like that, but he recovered himself.

“Who was that?” the doctor asked as he walked over to me.

“My cousin,” Niall answered.

I was happy Niall went ahead and answered because I was coming close to giving the doctor an obnoxious remark. I wanted to tell him he should obviously know who Olivia Wilson is and he needs to get out from under the rock he is living under. I knew I shouldn’t say that though, and anything in the related area. I wanted to and needed to stay on his good side.

“Okay well I have some news,” the doctor finally spoke.

“Okay…” I said, not really sure what to expect.

“No need to be nervous, it’s not too bad,” the doctor told me. I had a feeling that his definition of ‘not that bad’ and mine were completely different, but I wasn’t sure I wanted them to be or not.

“Okay so the person who you hit isn’t going to suffer from any major injuries, so that’s good on your part,” the doctor began.

“Okay,” I said, “What else?”

“As far as your punishment goes, they’ve decided that they’re not going to press charges against you since no terrible injuries were caused. They do however insist you pay for the damages to their car, but you’d probably have to do that anyway,” he said.

“Is that it?” I asked. I was hoping it was because I was fine with the way everything was now.

They aren’t pressing charges, and all I have to do is pay for car damages.

“Not quite,” he said. “What else?” Niall asked before I could.

“The police came by with your car, and we discussed your punishment. You did break the law for drunk driving, so there are some other consequences for that,” he began. A shot of worry flushed through me and I could tell it was evident on my face.

“Don’t worry, you’re not going to jail,” he laughed as he saw the worry on my face. I relaxed a bit, but the worry I had was still there.

“Your drivers license is getting suspended for a little less than two months,” he told me.

“Seriously?” I said. I was annoyed that my driver’s license was getting taken away, but then I realized it’s better than going to court or a holding cell.

“Yes seriously,” he said, “Now I’m not sure if that’s a relieved or upset expression on your face, so I’m just going to tell you to be thankful that that’s all that happened to you.” he told me.

“Okay,” I said.

“Good, now I have to go do a few things and when I get back, we’ll get some papers signed and you can leave,” he told me, and I nodded as he walked out the door.

“At least you didn’t get in too much trouble,” Niall said once he left.

“Yeah,” I said. “They basically let you off the hook with all this,” Niall said.

“I guess, not really,” I said back and Niall shrugged.

A few minutes passed, and the door was starting to open. I was hoping it was the doctor coming back so I could get out of here, but once the door was fully opened, I saw Liv walking in.

“Hey,” she said once she was in and closed the door.

“Hey,” I said back to her, but she ignored me. I knew that her greeting was more directed at Niall then it was me.

“Who were you talking too?” Niall asked.

“It was Liam, he was wondering if I saw the article,” she said, and I could tell it was still bothering her.

“So the doctor came in,” Liv began a new topic, “What did I miss?” she asked.
