Still Mine

What if someone said something to you, trying to discourage you from following your dreams. Would you give up on that dream? Or would you follow that dream and prove them wrong. What if the person who tired to discourage you came to an event of your dream that is now reality and tried to win you back?

My name is Olivia Wilson, and I know what I'd do.

Chapter 75

Harry’s POV

“Hey,” Liv quietly said once she walked into the room.

“Hey,” I said back after taking in her appearance.

I couldn’t help but smile at the fact that she was wearing my jacket, but I tried to bite it back. It was silent for a while and nobody really knew what to say. I was waiting for Liv to say something; she was the one who came here. After thinking those words I couldn’t help but feel giddy that she was the one who came to me for the first time. Sure it may not have been for the reason I would’ve liked, but its still a nice thought that she actually came. I’m still surprised that she actually came though considering she knows what happened. I tried to read the expression on her face, but it wasn’t easy. She didn’t look really angry or really sympathetic. I guess it would be hard to tell right now because the silence that is happening right now is more of an awkward silence so she probably feels uncomfortable.

After a few more seconds passed, I looked up at Liv, and it seemed like she was about to say something.

“So um, are you okay?” she asked me.

It wasn’t really the question I was expecting, I’m not exactly sure what I was expecting, but I guess there’s really nothing else for her to say.

“Do I look okay?” I asked and let out a dry, half laugh, trying to lighten the mood a bit.

“I’m not really sure,” she said back.

I wanted to tell her that obviously wasn’t perfectly okay, my face was scratched up and my chest was bandaged up and every now and then would give me a sharp pain.

“I think I’m just going to leave you too alone for a bit,” Niall said, unknowingly stopping me from saying something stupid.

“No stay,” Liv said quickly just as Niall was getting up from the couch.

I looked over at him, and tried to give him a look telling him to leave, but I didn’t think he saw me because he shrugged and sat back down on the couch. I really wanted up to leave the room for a bit so I could openly talk to Liv and not have to worry about Niall finding out about the drink for awhile. But of course, listening to Liv, he stayed so I’m going to have to be careful with where this conversation between Liv and I go, if we even have one.

It was silent again; I could tell Liv didn’t like the silence that filled the room. I however enjoyed the few moments I had to think of what I want to say, even if I’d forget it all by the time I needed to speak.

“So what happened?” Liv asked me.

I was about to look up and give her a furious glare because I knew what she was doing, but I stopped myself, I needed to handle this well. Liv was trying to see if I told Niall or not.

“Yeah Harry, what did happen? You still haven’t really told me,” Niall said, and I bet Liv knew she could now get Niall mad at me.

“I just hit another car, there is really nothing else to say,” I shrugged, hoping we could just leave it at that, but I knew we couldn’t.

“Wait you hit the other car?” Niall asked, I cursed myself in my head. I knew I was going to mess up what I was going to say and say something I’d regret.

“Obviously, what did you think happened?” Liv asked.

I wanted to tell her not to play stupid, because she knew Niall didn’t know, but then again maybe she didn’t. But I wouldn’t admit it to myself, I wanted to keep thinking that she has a plan to make Niall furious at me, but part of me knew it was just me being paranoid.

“I don’t know, I didn’t really think about it. I guess I just thought it was a mutual wreck, that they just ran into each other,” Niall said.

“Well the person driving drunk is usually the one who hits the other car,” Liv told Niall, but I could tell it was pretty much directed at me too.

“Wait what?” Niall said, and I closed my eyes in frustration as this conversation progressed.

“Harry had been drinking before he got in the wreck,” Liv said, like it was obvious.

“You didn’t know that?” Liv asked, taking in Niall’s somewhat shocked state.

“No…how did know you that? What happened?” Niall asked her.

“He was at my apartment, and he was drinking, then I had him leave,” Liv said, leaving out a lot of the main stuff, which I was thankful for.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” Niall asked, and I could sense he was starting to get upset with her.

“Sorry, I thought you knew,” “Does it look like I knew?” Niall asked a bit harsh.

“Why didn’t you bother to bring it up when I called you?” he asked.

“I don’t know, I guess I was just so surprised, that I didn’t think about it, and forgot that I already sort of knew what happened,” Liv said.

I watched as this conversation went on without me; thankfully, so I grabbed the bed remote and set it back a bit. I suddenly realized that I disliked this whole conversation for nothing. Sure Niall was upset about this whole situation, but at least he was getting mad at Liv for it, and not me.

“Harry didn’t tell you either, “Liv blurted out, and I quickly looked up with wide eyes as she gave me a smug smile.

Of course Liv would bring me into this conversation just as I was starting to enjoy it.

“Why didn’t you say anything?” Niall asked

“I-I um forgot,” I stuttered, saying the first thing that came to mind, even though it was basically the same excuse Liv gave.

“I don’t think you just forgot,” Niall said.

“Liv did,” I said back.

“That’s different,” Niall told me, and I didn’t say anything after that.

What was I supposed to say? Saying the first thing that comes to mind doesn’t usually work for me.

“Can’t think of anymore excuses?” Liv said to me, crossing her arms as I glared at her.

“Give him a break Liv, he is in the hospital,” Niall said, and I perked up a bit and gave him a surprised look. I thought he was getting angry with me too, and now he’s defending me.

“You’re not serious are you?” Liv asked

“I am serious, he was just in a car wreck, you don’t need to make smug remarks to him,” Niall said.

“He got in a car wreck for drinking, “ Liv said back, throwing her arms out in front of her.

“It was still a wreck,” I added.

“Look, you’re pretty much fine, so I am no way whatsoever going to feel any sympathy for you,” she told me, and I’ll admit that statement di hurt some.

She had close to no emotion in it, and I could tell she pretty much meant it.

“Liv!” Niall said.

“Its true,” she shrugged.

“I think I’m just going to leave,” Liv said, and turned to the door.

“No, wait,” Niall and me, said at the same time, causing her to turn around.

I watched as her and Niall talked for a few moments, but I wasn’t really listening. She looked as if she was about ready to leave again, and I couldn’t decide if I wanted her to leave or not. What she said did hurt, but having her leave wasn’t going to help me at all in the long run.

“Wait,” I quickly said, causing her to turn around.

“What now?” Liv asked, clearing annoyed.

“Please stay, I-I want you to stay here,” I stuttered out, and she just looked anywhere except where I was and I could tell she was trying not to meet the stare I had on her.

A few more seconds passed before she finally gave in, “Fine,” she said, and walked over to sit next to Niall.
