Still Mine

What if someone said something to you, trying to discourage you from following your dreams. Would you give up on that dream? Or would you follow that dream and prove them wrong. What if the person who tired to discourage you came to an event of your dream that is now reality and tried to win you back?

My name is Olivia Wilson, and I know what I'd do.

Chapter 60

Harry’s POV

After I left the coffee shop, I didn’t have anywhere else to go and I didn’t want to be by myself at my house, so I drove over to Niall’s.

After a few minutes of driving, I soon arrived at Niall’s house. I pulled my jacket tighter around me as I came in contact with the cold harsh wind as I got out of my car. I walked up the steps and knocked on Niall’s door. A few seconds passed, and Niall opened the door, “Hey Harry,” he said. “Hey,” I said back, and he opened the door for me to come in.

“So what’s up?” Niall asked once I was inside and we began walking over to his living room.

“Just bored,” I said and sat down on the couch.

“Have you talked to Louis?” he asked as he sat down on the couch across from me.

“No, have you?” I asked.

“Yeah, he was texting me last night so I thought he might have talked to you,”

“Well he hasn’t,” I sighed, “Is he still mad at me?”

“I don’t know, I didn’t talk to him for long and neither of us brought up the situation. I think he thinks that I’m mad at you too,”

“Oh,” I said.

“So are you ready for when Liv comes back?” Niall asked.

“Yeah, I’ve probably gone over everything at least ten times today,” I slightly laughed.

“You’re not nervous or anything?” Niall asked.

“No not really,” I shrugged.

“I would be nervous,” Niall said.

“Why?” I asked him.

“I don’t know, it just seems nerve-racking. I mean she utterly hates you right now, and there is no guarantee that she will even give you a second glance. We are acting like all this will work, but it might not, she might not even let you speak to her, leaving you with your guilt forever and ever. But its good your not nervous, it gives you more confidence,” Niall said nonchalantly.

My mouth opened slightly, “I’m a bit nervous now,” I gulped.

“Don’t be, it’s not that big of a deal,” I looked at Niall in confusion,

“Are you hearing yourself?” I asked.

“I was joking Harry, just saying the worst. Believe me you’ll be fine,” Niall tried to assured me, but it didn’t work.

Niall had already planted the worst that could happen in my head, and now my mind was just adding on to it.

I think Niall sensed my now nervous state, because he began to change the subject to the football game the other day.

•••

Seconds passed, seconds turned into minutes, and those minutes soon turned into hours. Hour after hour, it was now only minutes until I needed to drive over to Liv’s apartment. Niall and I threw away the box from the pizza we ordered, and walked back to the living room.

“Hey you should probably head over to Liv’s apartment building now so you’re there before her,” Niall said looking down at his watch.

“Yeah, okay,” I got up from the couch, only to sit back down.

“You okay Harry?” Niall asked.

“I can’t do this,” I mumbled.

“What?” Niall asked stepping closer.

“I can’t do this,” I said louder.

“Come on Harry, you’re just going to talk to Liv tonight, you remember what you’re going to say. You don’t need to be nervous,” Niall told me.

“I wasn’t nervous until you told me the worst possible thing you could think of happening,” I snapped at him.

“Sorry, it was a joke, I didn’t mean to freak you out,”

“What if it turns out worse?” I asked.

“It won’t, honestly I think you’re being a bit dramatic Harry,” Niall told me, and his phone started ringing before either of us could say anything else.

Niall grabbed his phone from his pocket and pressed the screen before bringing it up to his ear.

“Hey Liv,” Niall said.

“Um, as much as I’d like to, I can’t,” he continued.

“I just can’t, I’m pretty busy right now,” he said.

“I’m not being dramatic,” I huffed and crossed my arms as I leaned back in the couch.

“Sorry Liv,” Niall finished, and took his phone away from his ear.

“Okay Harry, you need to go to Liv’s apartment now,” Niall said quickly, and tried to get me up off the couch.

“Her plane’s here?” I asked.

“Yes, she’s about to go back to her apartment, probably on a bus, now get up,” Niall yanked on my arm, and I finally gave in and stood up. I grabbed my keys from the coffee table and unwillingly walked to the front door.

“Good luck,” Niall said as I walked outside.

“Thanks,” I said, not turning around as I walked to my car. I unlocked my car and got inside it, and started it up. I backed out of the driveway, and made my way out of the neighborhood.

After about fifteen minutes, I was pulling up in front of Liv’s apartment building. I parked my car and got out, locking it behind me as I went inside the building.

I was halfway across the lobby, when a small hand tugging on my arm stopped me. I turned and looked down and saw a little girl shyly holding out a pen and pad of paper. I smiled and bent down to sign her paper. The mom of the girl soon came over and took some pictures of her daughter and me. I occasionally looked over at the entrance to make sure Liv wasn’t coming in yet. As nervous as I was, I still wanted this to start out the way I planned it. Her seeing me in the lobby instead of in front of her apartment door would just make me more nervous knowing that the way I imagined this going down was already messed up.

I said bye to the girl and her mom as they walked towards the restaurants. I continued walking across the lobby until I was at the elevators, pressing the button and waiting for the doors to open.

Once the elevator arrived, I stepped in and pressed the button of Liv’s floor, and waited as the ground began to move up.

Soon I arrived at Liv’s floor, and I walked down the hall until I was at Liv’s door. I knew she wasn’t here yet, but just in case I knocked on the door anyway.

No answer.

So now I guess I just wait. I started at the end of the hallway for a while, but when I got bored with that I began pacing back and forth in front of her door. I checked the time on my watch, and she should probably be here by now. I’m pretty sure she was asking Niall for a ride when she called him and Niall said he couldn’t, so maybe she couldn’t find a way to get here. Niall told me she would probably be taking a bus, but he doesn’t know that for sure. I contemplated whether I should drive to the airport to see if she’s there. I decided against it for now, but if she’s not here in the next twenty minutes, I’m driving there. Then again if she is still at the airport, and I came to pick her up when she didn’t have a ride, she’d be really grateful to me, and less mad at me.

“No Harry, that’s not the plan.” I mumbled to myself as I sat down on the ground and leaned against the wall. I kept mumbling to myself that I was just worrying too much and Liv is fine, everything will be fine.

I was so consumed in my mumbling to myself, that I hadn’t realized someone was standing in front of me. I didn’t see her standing there until she softly spoke my name.

“Harry?” she quietly said, and my head instantly popped up. It was weird seeing her right now, since I haven’t seen her in so long. She looked as stunning as always, exhausted, but still stunning.

“U-Um,” I coughed, “Hey Liv,” I said as I stood up.

She didn’t say anything back, she just watched me. I awkwardly shoved my hands in my pockets as I shifted on my feet. I opened my mouth to speak again, but I instantly forgot everything I was going to say.
