Still Mine

What if someone said something to you, trying to discourage you from following your dreams. Would you give up on that dream? Or would you follow that dream and prove them wrong. What if the person who tired to discourage you came to an event of your dream that is now reality and tried to win you back?

My name is Olivia Wilson, and I know what I'd do.

Chapter 44

Liv’s POV

Harry’s family and me and Niall’s family left today around noon. It was the day after Christmas, and Harry, Niall, and I were just now leaving a local restaurant that we went to for a late lunch.

“I’m surprised I’ve never eaten there before,” I said as we walked out of the restaurant.

“I know, that place was awful,” Niall said.

“What? No it wasn’t,” I said back.

“Are you kidding me? That was the worst hamburger I’ve ever had,” he complained.

“Well my pasta was good,”

“Whatever,” he scoffed, and Harry laughed at us as he snaked his arm around my waist.

We walked over to where our cars where parked, which was near the back of the lot, because this place was pretty crowded, Niall seeming to be the only person who didn’t like what he ordered.

“Well we will see you later Niall,” Harry said once we approached his car.

“See ya,” Niall said and walked a few spots down to his car.

“So what are we going to do for the rest of the day?” I asked Harry as he unlocked his car.

“As much as I would like to do something today,” Harry stopped talking as both of us got in the car.

“I have a meeting today,” he continued.

“Oh,” I said a bit upset.

“Don’t worry, I don’t like it’s a long one, so when I’m done we can go shopping or something,” he said.

“Okay,” I said back, my mood raised some.

“Why doesn’t Niall have to go to the meeting?” I asked curiously.

“Oh um, I don’t know, sometimes we get called in for individual meetings depending on what management wants to talk about.” he said,

“Some of the other boys might be at this meeting too,” he added.

“Oh okay,” I answered.

The restaurant we went to was closer to Harry’s house, so it took as a bit longer to get back to my apartment.

When we did arrive at my apartment, I had expected Harry to walk me up to my apartment, but instead he just stopped his car in front of the entrance.

“Bye Liv,” he said and leaned over the console to give me a kiss.

“Bye,” I said back and hopped out of the car. I turned to wave bye to him but by the time I turned around, his car was already out of sight.

I sighed and turned back around to walk inside the apartment building. Harry just must have been running late for the meeting, I’m pretty sure the building he has to go to is on the other side of town.

I walked across the lobby and headed to the elevators. I had no clue what I was going to do today until Harry got back. I’ve pretty much been with him all day every day for the past few days.

The elevator opened, and I had to wait for a few people to get out before I could get in. Once the people who were in there got out, I stepped in and pressed the button of my floor. I then pressed the button that closes the elevator doors because I didn’t feel like have people in the elevator with me right now. Thankfully no one got in, or even tried to get in by the time the doors closed. I leaned against the back wall of the elevator as it started to go up. I watched the red numbers projected on the small screen on the top of the doors go up as I waited.

Finally the elevator arrived at my floor and I got off once the doors opened. I walked down the hall and got out my keycard, sliding it into the door once I got there, and walked inside. I sat down on the couch and threw my purse on the other side of the couch as I took my shoes off. I turned on the TV, leaving it on the channel that it was already on.

An ad on TV advertising an airline company made me remember that I still needed to get my plane ticket so I could go visit my parents for New Year’s. I decided to give them a quick call first to make sure they still wanted me to come on the days we planned. I also realized that I still haven’t told them that Harry and I got back together. I mentioned a few times that we were hanging out when I would call them every now and then, but its been a few days since I’ve talked to them. I was worried what their reaction would be to Harry and I getting back together. They were pretty furious with him, my dad threatened to and I quote, ‘hunt him down and teach that bastard a lesson,’ whereas my mom was a shoulder for me to cry on.

I figured my parents would just figure out about us dating from all the tabloids, but I knew they would text me the minute they found out, but they haven’t.

I unlocked my phone, and pressed my mom’s contact name, and she answered on the second ring. “Liv!” my mom said excitedly into the phone.

“Hey mom,” I said back.

“Pete get in here, Liv’s on the phone,” I heard my mom shout to my dad, it was pretty late there so I’m guessing my dad was watching Friends reruns on TV.

“Liv?” I heard my dad say.

“Hey dad,” I said.

“How’s it going?” he asked.

“Well I was just calling to make sure you wanted me to come on the same days we discussed before I bought my ticket,” I explained.

“Yes the days are still the same, but you just come out anytime that works for you,” my mom said and I laughed a bit.

“Ok mom, well I got to go so I’ll you both in less than a week,” I said.

“Ok bye sweetie, we love you,” my mom said.

“Bye, love you too,” I said and we hung up.

After I hung up I realized that I didn’t tell them about Harry and I, partly because I forgot and partly because I really just didn’t want to tell them right now. They just seemed so happy right then because I called.

I told myself that I’d tell them soon, and then went to get my laptop. I sat back down on the couch once I got my laptop, and opened it up. I clicked on the Internet and opened up the website of the airline I like to use. I went through the procedure of getting the ticket, picking the days and destination. Once I finished, I decided just to print it later because there wasn’t a printer in my room, I’d have to go down to the lobby.

Almost two hours had passed, and I figured Harry wasn’t coming back anytime soon, so I decided just to go ahead and take my laptop down to the lobby to print my ticket. I grabbed my keycard and my laptop and headed out to the hallway. I walked down to the elevators, and got in one and waited for it to arrive at the lobby. I got off the elevator once it got to the lobby. Once I got off I realized I didn’t know where the printer was. I just remember someone telling me there was one. Maybe I just imagined someone said that. I shrugged and decided just to ask someone at the front desk.

As I was walking, I ran into someone, part of me hoped it was Harry even though I knew it wasn’t. I looked up and saw Nick in front of me,

“Hey Olivia,” he said.

“Hey Nick,” I said back.

“What’s up?” he asked.

“I just bought a ticket to go visit my parents for New Year’s and I’m going to print them,” I told him.

“Oh cool, well I’ve got to get back to my apartment, I have a lot of work to do,” he said.

“Okay,” I said and he began to walk away.

“Wait,” I said and he turned back around.

“Do you know where the printer it?” I asked.

He chuckled and point back to an area near the restaurants, “Just walk down there and you should see an office area and there is a printer in there,” he told me.

“Thank you so much,” I said.

“No problem,” he said back and headed to the elevators.
