Chapter 25

Liv’s POV

Once I finished eating and paid my check, and I got up and left the restaurant. I was starting to feel a bit tired so I decided I would just go back to my apartment and look for some movies on TV. I headed to the elevators and got on one and went back up to my floor. Once the elevator arrived at the floor my apartment was on, I got off and walked down the hall. Once I reached my door, I got out my keycard and went inside. I threw my purse on the couch and sat down and turned on the TV. I flipped through the movie channels, but nothing good was on. I finally decided on just watching the news and weather because there wasn’t anything better on.

After they finished talking about some current events, the weatherman came on. He started talking about the cold front that came in today, then he started talking about some snow starting to come and I started listening more. I never was a big fan of the cold, but it hardly ever snowed in California, so I was pretty excited about it.

After watching TV for about another hour or so, I decided to go get ready for bed. I took off my make up, brushed my teeth, and changed into some pajamas. I got into bed and pulled the covers over myself. I set an alarm on my phone so I’d have time to get ready tomorrow morning. I set my phone on the bedside table, turned the lamp off and went to sleep.

I woke up the next morning to the sound of my alarm going off. I sit up and turn it off and get out of bed. I walked over to my closet and decided on wearing some jeans and a tribal print sweater. After I put my clothes on, I went to the bathroom to do my hair and makeup. As I was finishing brushing through my hair, I heard my phone ringing. I set down my hairbrush and over to the bedside table to get my phone. I looked at the contact name, and it was Harry of course.

“Hello?” I said once I answered the call.

“I hope you’re awake,” he said.

“I’m talking to you aren’t I?” I replied.

“Well then I hope you didn’t just wake up,” he said.

“I didn’t,” I said back.

“Okay just making sure,” he said.

“Okay,” I told him.

“Well um bye,” he said.

“Bye,” I said back to him, and he hung up.

That was kind of a weird phone call, but I let it go and continued getting ready. I got out a scarf from my dresser and some boots from my closet and put them both on. I then picked up my purse and phone and went to the living room. I checked the time and I choose just to go wait for Harry in the lobby this time. As I opened the door and closed it behind me and as I began to walk down the hallway, I noticed Nick walking in front of me down the hallway as well. I continued walking until I reached the elevators. Once I was there, Nick was already there pressing the button and waiting for the elevator to arrive. “Hey Olivia,” Nick said once he saw me.

“Hey,” I said back.

“You look nice today,” he told me.

“Thanks,” I said as I looked down at what I was wearing.

A few moments later the elevator arrived and after some people got off, Nick and I got on.

“So what are your plans for today?” Nick asked.

“Um, I’m not exactly sure,” I said.

“Then where are you going right now?” he asked.

“Harry’s coming to pick me up,” I told him.

“Oh, so are you both back together?” he hesitantly asked.

“No,” I said.

“Really? Because you both seem to be spending a lot of time together,” he told me.

“Yeah, but we’re just friends,” I said.

“Okay,” he said.

“So are you excited for the snow?” Nick asked.

“I’m not excited for the cold, but very excited for snow,” I told him.

“I bet the cold will even worse for you considering you’ve probably adapted to California weather,” he said.

“Yeah,” I replied.

The rest of the elevator ride was silent, although he did stop at one floor and the person who got on was talking very loudly on their phone the whole time.

We soon reached the lobby and we all got off.

“Well bye,” I said as Nick began to walk to the main doors.

“Bye,” he said back and he went to the doors, and I went to the sitting area to wait for Harry.

After waiting for Harry for a while, I looked at the time, showing he was twenty minutes late. I sighed and sent him a text asking him where he was. I really wanted him to show up because I was actually looking forward to spending time with him today. I was starting to get worried when he was now thirty minutes late and I hadn’t heard anything from him.

Usually I would get a text or something from him telling me why he was late. I still continued to sit in the chair and look up at the door every few minutes as I waited. I soon noticed someone running up to me and I instantly realized it was Harry. I widened my eyes when I saw him, he had on a beanie with snow stuck all over it, and a big jacket which he was sweeping snow off of as he ran up to me.

“I’m so sorry I’m late,” Harry spoke quickly as he reached me.

“It’s fine, what happened?” I asked as I help him sweep snow off himself.

“Didn’t you see outside?” he asked.

“No,” I answered.

“Well it’s snowing like crazy out there,” he said.

“It is?” I asked a bit excitedly.

“Yeah, that’s why I was late, there was so much traffic,” he told me.

“Now lets go before it gets worse,” he said and grabbed my hand as he began to quickly head toward the main doors.

Once we went outside, I instantly wished I wore a jacket over my sweater. I was freezing and the snow was making it even colder.

“My car is over there,” Harry said and pointed across the street.

I nodded and followed him across the street and to his car. I was relieved when we finally reached his car and he unlocked it so we could get in.

“You clearly didn’t know about the snow coming,” Harry said as he turned on the car heater.

“I knew it was going to snow, I just didn’t think about how much,” I told him.

“Well welcome back to London weather,” he said as he began to drive out into the road.

“I adapted to much to California weather,” I said and I heard him laugh some as I turned up the heater.

“Where are we going anyway?” I asked.

“Well I was planning on going out to eat and then taking you shopping, but now I think I’ll just take you to my house and cook you something. Then if you really want to, we can do some online shopping,” he said and I laughed,

“Sounds good,” I said.
