Chapter 21

Liv’s POV

Once Harry parked the car, we both got out and headed up to the door of Niall’s house.

“When was the last time you were here?” Harry asked as we walked up the patio steps.

“Since the last day I lived here, my parents and I stayed here after we sold our house earlier than we expected.” I told him.

“Oh,” he said and knocked on the door after he realized the door was locked.

After a few minutes, Niall and Liam opened the door.

“Hey,” Niall greeted with a big smile on his face.

“Hey,” I said back as he fully opened the door to let us in.

“It’s great to see you again Liv,” Liam said as he pulled me into a hug.

“You too,” I said back.

“Liv’s here!” Niall shouted across the house as we all walked towards the living room.

I heard a bunch of commotion as we approached the living room. As soon as I came into view, Louis jumped up from the couch and pulled me into a big hug.

“Good to see you too Louis,” I laughed as I hugged him back.

“Look who has got an American accent,” Louis joked.

I smiled, and Zayn soon got up from the couch and came over to me.

“Good to have you back,” he said as he hugged me as well.

Once Zayn pulled back from the embrace, someone quickly jumped in and gave me a hug. I smiled once I realized who it was,

“Niall, I’ve seen you almost everyday since I’ve been here,” I said. “I know, I’m just really happy right now,” he said and smiled as he pulled back.

“Don’t I get a hug?” Harry asked with a boyish grin as he stretched out his arms.

I rolled my eyes at him and turned back to face the rest of the boys.

“Oh, denied,” Liam joked as he looked over at Harry.

I heard Harry let out a sigh as he came over and joined the rest of us.

“So Liv tell us what you’ve been up to,” Louis said as we all walked over to the couch and chairs.

I sat at the end of the couch and I noticed Harry, who was behind the boys, trying to get past them. I’m guessing he was trying to sit next to me, but Niall beat him to it. Harry gave Niall a look but he didn’t notice, he probably didn’t even realize Harry was trying to sit next to me. I mentally thanked Niall anyway.

Once everyone found a place to sit, they started asking me questions about the tour and life in America. Harry stayed quiet, and he would tense up every now and then. Sometimes it seemed as if he was going to get up and leave the living room, but he stopped himself.

I think we all talked for about an hour before the conversation gradually died down.

“So now what should we do?” Niall asked.

“We could watch a movie,” Liam suggested.

We all agreed and Niall showed us where he had a basket of movies next to his TV. We all got up from the couch and chairs and began going through the movies. The boys decided on watching The Dark Knight, I didn’t necessarily want to watch it but I didn’t protest against it. Liam and Louis seemed the most excited to watch it, seeing as they quickly put the movie in and jumped back into their chairs, then they hurried everyone to sit so they could start the movie. I sat back down on the couch, and this time Harry was already sitting in the spot next to mine.

I almost decided to sit somewhere else, but decided against it, considering his attention would mainly be focused at the movie since he seemed pretty excited to watch it. The movie was at the main menu right now, and Niall was about to press play when Louis stopped him,

“Wait,” Louis said and we all looked at him. “We need popcorn,” he said and everyone agreed.

“You can play the movie and I’ll go make some popcorn,” I told them.

“Are you sure? You’ll miss the beginning of the movie,” Liam said.

“I’ll survive without seeing the beginning,” I told him, and Harry looked at me and gave me a slightly confused look, but I ignored it.

Niall told me where he had the popcorn as I went into the kitchen. Once I was in the kitchen, I went to the pantry where Niall said the popcorn was. After looking up and down the shelves, I finally found the bags of popcorn and grabbed two of them. I closed the pantry, and as I walked to the microwave, I could hear the loud opening music of the movie. I put one of the bags in the microwave, and grabbed two bowls from the cabinet as I waited for the popcorn to pop. I sat on the counter facing the microwave as I waited.

While I was waiting, I listened to the sound of the popcorn popping, and the sound from the movie coming from the living room. The popcorn was almost done, and I was about to hop off the counter when I felt someone tap my shoulder. I jumped a bit and got of the counter, and I turned around to see Harry standing at the side of the counter. I wasn’t surprised to see him here, I had a feeling he would come in here.

“Did I scare you?” he asked with a cheeky smile as the microwave timer went off.

“What do you think?” I asked.

“I think I scared you,” he said still smiling.

“Why aren’t you watching the movie?” I asked.

“I think the better question is why aren’t you,” he said as he poked my shoulder and continued speaking, “You’ve always loved the beginning of movies, you’d always get so mad at me if we ever arrived late to a movie,” he said.

“Yeah, back when you actually checked movie times before going to the theater,” I told him and he laughed.

“Seriously why aren’t you watching the movie?” he asked.

“I honestly didn’t want to watch it,” I said and finally took the popcorn out of the microwave.

“You should’ve said something,” he said as he walked over to me.

“You all seemed so excited to watch,” I told him.

“So you’re making popcorn because you don’t want to watch the movie,” he clarified.

“Pretty much,” I said and poured the popcorn into a bowl.

“Good, because I thought you just offered because you wanted to get away from me,” he said.

“Well that too,” I joked and smiled, as he put a hand up to his chest pretending to be wounded, only to result in both of us laughing.

“Do you need any help?” he asked once we stopped laughing.

“No, I think I’m good,” I said and put another bag of popcorn in the microwave.

“Okay, I’ll stay here just in case,” he said and sat on the counter.

Once the popcorn was done, I poured it into the other bowl. I closed the microwave and threw away the empty popcorn bags. Then I grabbed the bowls and began to go back into the living room as Harry followed me.

“I can carry one of those,” he offered as he walked up next to me.

“It’s fine, I got it,” I told him and he nodded.

He took a step ahead of me, and opened the door to the living room for me. I silently thanked him, and walked into the living room. Once we both were in, I put the two bowls of popcorn on the coffee table and the boys all reached for it at once, not taking their eyes off the TV. I silently laughed at them as I made my way back to my seat on the couch. A few seconds later, Harry sat back down next to me holding one of the bowls of popcorn. He held out the bowl to me and I grabbed a small handful, as Harry grabbed a big handful and got up to put the bowl back on the table.

“If you want anymore popcorn, just tell me,” Harry whispered as I put some popcorn in my mouth and nodded.

We were about half way through the movie, and the whole time Harry was been asking me if I like the movie, or showing me ridiculous things on his phone. Him showing me things on his phone like random tweets or stupid pictures usually results in me laughing, and then Harry starts laughing. I tried to be as quiet as I could but Harry and I always ended up getting shushed by the boys. I hate to admit it, but I was actually enjoying Harry’s company right now.

“Are you liking the movie?” Harry whispered.

“I’m even sure what’s going on,” I told him. “Also that’s like the fifth time you’ve asked me,” I added.

“Well I want to make sure you like it, because its an amazing movie,” he said.

“Then why do you keep distracting me with your phone?” I whisper-yelled at him, and he just smiled and shrugged as he showed me another picture on his phone.

“Stop,” I said and lightly slapped his arm, which gave us a loud shush from the rest of the boys, and we both just smiled as we tried to hold in more laughing.
