Chapter 18

Liv’s POV

Harry and I left his house and he was now driving me back to my apartment.

“So what do you want to do today?” he asked.

“Go to my room and sleep,” I told him as he approached a red light.

“So you want to sleep with me?” he said cheekily as he looked over at me. I rolled my eyes at him,

“I already told you I’m not doing anything with you today,” I said.

“Whatever you say,” he said as the light turned green and he continued to drive.

After what seemed like hours in the car of ignoring Harry’s cheeky remarks about different things, we finally arrived at the apartment building.

“You can just drop me off at the curb,” I told him as he pulled up.

“You don’t want me to walk you in?” he said.

“No, I’m good,” I told him and got out of the car.

As I began to walk inside, I heard Harry call my name. I turned around and saw his head sticking out the rolled down window.

“Bye Liv,” he waves and smiles, showing his dimples. I give him and small smile and wave before walking inside.

As I walked inside the building, I began to head towards the elevators, but I saw Nick waiting for an elevator to arrive. I quickly turn around and walked away, trying to avoid an encounter with him for as long as I can.

“Olivia,” I hear a voice call and I instantly knew who it was. I thought about not turning around and just keep walking, but I decided against it after he called my name again.

“Oh hey, Nick,” I said as I turned around.

“Were you coming to wait for an elevator?” he asked.

“Yeah, I was but-“

“But you saw me here,” he interrupted.

I wasn’t sure how to answer that, I didn’t want to be rude and say yes, but I didn’t know what else to say. I awkwardly smiled as I tried to think of something to say. Just to my luck the elevator arrived, hopefully bringing me out of having to answer.

He gestured for me to walk in the elevator in front of him, and I walked in with him behind me. The elevator doors closed, and I pressed the button for our floor. After a few seconds of silence,

Nick spoke up, “I’m sorry about the other night, I don’t know what I was thinking,”

“It’s okay, I guess I could’ve handled it better,” I told him, trying to make him feel better.

“I just don’t want things to be awkward between us,” he told me.

“Yeah, I get it, everything’s fine now,” I assure him.

He opens his mouth to say something, but is interrupted by my phone ringing. I grab my phone out of my pocket and look at the screen. Harry. Why is he calling me? Well who knows why Harry does half the things he does. I decide I might as well answer and hear what he has to say.

“Hey Liv,” he said back.

“What do you need?” I asked.

“Be ready in about an hour,” he told me.

“For what?” I ask confused.

“We’re going to see a movie,” he tells me.

“Maybe I don’t want to see a movie,” I told him, clearly annoyed with him.

“Feisty are we?” he says and I can hear the smirk creeping on his face by the tone of his voice.

“You just dropped me off, you can’t call and ask me to go to a movie with you and expect I’ll go,” I explained to him.

“I’m not asking you, I’m telling you we are going to a movie in an hour,” he said.

“You can’t do that either,”

“Okay so I’ll see you in about an hour,” he finished and hung up.

“Unbelievable,” I whisper under my breath as I put my phone back in my pocket.

“Who called you?” Nick asked, and I want to call him out for being nosy but I decide against it.

“It was just Harry,” I say as the elevator arrives at the floor.

I hoped he would drop the topic, but I was wrong as he began to keep talking after he both got out of the elevator.

“So are you both back together?” he hesitantly asked.

“Oh God no, not at all,” I told him.

He nods, and puts his hands in his pockets as we walked down the hall. I remember Harry used to always have his hands in his pockets, he had told me that it was a big habit of his, sometimes he never noticed when he did it.

I quickly snapped myself out of my thoughts, I will not think about Harry right now, or ever for that matter. When we approach my door, I quickly remembered something.

“Oh shit,” I cursed under my breath.

“What?” Nick asked.

“I completely forgot I needed to get another keycard.” I told him.

“Why?” he asked.

“I left my original one in my room,” I said and he laughed a bit.

“It’s a long story,” I told him, because he looked like he wanted to know how or why I left it.

“Okay well I’ll see you later,” he said and continued walking down the hall to his apartment.

“Bye,” I said and walked down the hall, back to the elevators.

I was so irritated by Harry right now. It was his fault in the first place that I left my keycard, because he was distracting me by… well just by being him. Also I would’ve remembered to stop at the front desk if he wasn’t filling my thoughts with those bright green eyes, and his dimpled smile, his smile that could make any girl melt inside, especially by knowing the smile was just for her, just for me… I quickly snap myself out of my daze.

“Stop Liv, you don’t like him,” I say quietly to myself out loud.

After a few minutes the elevator finally came, I was hoping there were no stops on the way down; I wanted to get to the lobby quickly because I really didn’t want to be alone with my thoughts right now.

I paced back and forth in the elevator until it finally arrived at the lobby, and I was relieved. I walked over to the front desk and thankfully the lady at the desk was nice and I got my keycard right away. I quickly headed back to the elevators, and slipped into one of the elevators that was starting to close. There were a few people in the elevator, so I just pressed my floor button and stood at the side of the elevator.

I decided to take my phone out of my pocket and scroll through it as I waited. I looked at the time and I only had about forty minutes to get ready before Harry came. I figured he was going to make me go with him, so I might as well look decent. After a long few minutes, I finally get to my floor and I quickly go back to my apartment door and go inside. I put the new keycard on the coffee table next to where I left my purse, and head to my room to start getting ready.
