Still Mine

What if someone said something to you, trying to discourage you from following your dreams. Would you give up on that dream? Or would you follow that dream and prove them wrong. What if the person who tired to discourage you came to an event of your dream that is now reality and tried to win you back?

My name is Olivia Wilson, and I know what I'd do.

Chapter 13

Liv’s POV

We arrived at the restaurant, which thanks to Niall happened to be a somewhat expensive one. Harry was waiting for me next to the car door and he was about to opened it for me as I unbuckled my seat belt. I surprised him though by sliding to the other side and getting out of the car. He gave me a playful glare, which I didn’t return, and I walked over to Niall.

Once we got into the restaurant, we had to stand in a line with around two or three groups of people ahead of us so we could get a table.

A few minutes passed and we were now at the front of the line.

“Can we have a table?” I asked.

“Name?” the lady asked, not even bothering to look up from her typing on a tablet.

“Um we don’t have-“ I tried to tell her we don’t have reservations but she cut me off.

“Name?” she asked again. I turned to look at the guys and they just shrugged, then I looked back at the lady.

“Um Olivia,” I tried to make it come out as a statement, but it sounded a bit more like a question.

She looked up and pressed a hand to her temple before saying, “Your last name please.” she said annoyed.

“Wilson,” I told her.

“No, reservation,” she stated.

“I could’ve told you that when we came up, in fact I tried but you cut me off. We didn’t even know we were coming here two hours ago.” I told her, clearly irritated.

“Kill the attitude Hollywood,” she said.

I was about to say something else when I felt someone grab my arm.

“It’s not worth it to argue with her,” Harry whispered into my ear so only I could hear.

I sighed and lightly pulled my arm away from him and he released his grasp.

“Can we please just have a table?” I asked as politely as I could.

“Sure,” she said with a fake smile, “But you’ll have to wait,” she added as she handed us a black buzzer.

I held back the bitter look I wanted to give her, and the three of us walked over to one of the small couches set out for people waiting.

“Well that was interesting,” I said as we sat down on the red couch.

“I’m guessing she’s not a fan of yours,” Niall said.

“Not only that, I think she has a strong dislike for me,” I said with a slight laugh.

“You got that right,” Niall said.

“I wonder how long we are going to have to wait,” Niall asked.

“I have no idea,” I told him “Probably longer than we should though,” I added.

We had been waiting for about almost forty-five minutes, and I had about had with this.

“Should we just leave?” I asked.

“Yeah, lets just go somewhere else, I cannot wait any longer.” Niall said.

“Okay, lets go then.” I said.

We got up and Niall tossed the black buzzer on the table.

“You’re just going to leave it there?” I asked.

“Yeah, why not?” he said and I laughed at him, and we left the restaurant.

“You’re being awfully quiet,” Niall said to Harry as we were walking down the parking lot.

Harry just shrugged and continued kicking rocks with his feet as he walked.

“Are you okay?” I asked him.

“Yeah,” he said.

I wasn’t convinced and I could tell Niall wasn’t either, but we let it go and kept walking until we reached the car. I took advantage of Harry’s mood to sneak ahead of him and get the front seat. He didn’t notice until I already had my hand on the handle. He gave me a slight smirk and got in the back seat.

Once we were all in the car, Niall started it up and began to drive somewhere else. “Where are we going to go?” I asked. “You’ll see,” he said and continued to drive out of the parking lot.

A few minutes passed, and the conversation between the three of us was pretty light.

“I’m still confused about something,” Harry said, breaking the silence.

“What are you confused about?” Niall asked.

“Why were you both making such a big deal about that claw machine?” Harry asked, and Niall and I started silently laughing.

“What’s so funny?” he asked.

“That was just kind of a random question,” I told him.

“Yeah, why didn’t you just ask earlier?” Niall said.

“Well I tried but you both ignored me.” Harry said a slightly bitter.

Niall and I both looked over at each other, then looked back. I knew we were both thinking the same thing, Harry was feeling a bit left out. Niall told him everything about the bowling alley. Once he finished, we both started talking to Harry, Niall talking to him more than I was. I needed to remember that I am mad at Harry.

We finally arrived at the next restaurant of Niall’s choice. We got out of the car and walked inside. Luckily when we got inside there was no line to get a table, but we ended up having to wait for a table. The lady told us it would only be a ten minute wait though. The two benches they had set out for people waiting already had some people sitting in them so we just stood to wait.

After almost five minutes had passed, I thought I heard someone say my name; I looked around but didn’t see anyone I knew or anyone coming over to me.

“Did you guys hear someone say my name?” I asked, both of them shook their heads no.

“Olivia,” I heard it again, and I think the boys heard it too.

I then noticed a familiar person walking over to me.

“Hey,” Nick said once he came over to us.

“Hey,” I said.

“Is this Nick?” Niall asked.

“Yeah,” I said. I looked over at Niall and Harry and noticed them both either glaring or scowling at him.

Great, I finally make a new friend in London and they’re going to scare him off.

“Okay well…I’m going to go now,” Nick said.

“You do that,” Niall said.

“Bye,” I said to him.

“Bye Olivia,” he said quickly before looking at Niall and Harry again and scurrying off.

“Way to go guys,” I mumbled.

“What did I do?” Niall asked. I turned to look at him before saying,

“What did you? I meet someone with the potential of being my friend and you’ve already frightened him.” I tell him.

I felt the buzzer in my hand start vibrating indicating that our table was ready.

“Enjoy your dinner,” I tell him as I gave him the buzzer and started for the door.

“Where are you going?” he asked.

I didn’t answer, and I kept on walking. I honestly didn’t know where I was going since he drove me here, I suppose I will just catch a cab, again. I was walking down the parking lot when I noticed Nick getting into his.

“Nick,” I said loudly from across the lot.

He looked up and saw me, and he gave me a confused look and motioned for me to come over to him.

“What’s up?” he asked.

I contemplated whether to ask him for a ride or not. I decided I might as well considering I already had his attention and I didn’t know what else to say.

“Um, I was wondering if I could have a ride back to the building. I mean if you’re going there, if not I can just take a cab.” I said.

“Yeah its fine, I was heading there anyway, hop in,” he said.

I thanked him and got in the car.

“So why do you need a ride to the apartment? I thought you were here eating with Niall and Harry,” he asked.

“I was, but I decided to leave.” I told him.

“Why couldn’t they just drive you back then?” he asked.

I could tell he wasn’t going to drop the topic until I told him what happened, so I went ahead and explained the whole situation to him.
