Still Mine

What if someone said something to you, trying to discourage you from following your dreams. Would you give up on that dream? Or would you follow that dream and prove them wrong. What if the person who tired to discourage you came to an event of your dream that is now reality and tried to win you back?

My name is Olivia Wilson, and I know what I'd do.

Chapter 12

Liv’s POV

We were over halfway through with the bowling game. So far Niall was beating me by five points and I was beating Harry by almost twenty five points. At first Harry was actually trying but after Niall and I kept bowling strikes and spares, and he was lucky if he even got a spare, he gave up. He was aimlessly rolling the ball down the lane, not caring if it went into the gutter or not. He would roll the ball down the lane in a different and bizarre way every time.

I was surprised that I was actually enjoying myself considering Harry was here. I was mostly talking to Niall, but when Harry did try to converse with me, I would talk to him, but I tried to end the conversation quickly. He was making so many cheeky remarks.

The game was almost over and Niall was rubbing in my face that he was winning so far. Niall and I were always making all different types bets when we came here. Today we kept the bet simple though, the loser between Niall and I had to buy lunch. After we made the deal, Niall went on to tell Harry about all the crazy deals and bets we used to make.

Niall ended up winning the game, beating me by two points. He could not get enough of rubbing it in my face. It was a big accomplishment for him because I would always beat him when we were kids.

We grabbed out shoes and changed out of the bowling shoes. After we but our regular shoes back on, we went up to the desk and put the shoes up there and headed to the arcade.

“You’re so jealous that I won,” Niall said still pestering me.

“I can assure you I am not jealous,” I said back to him as the three of us walk over to the arcade.

“Sure,” Niall said sarcastically while laughing, making me laugh some too.

“You’ve had time to practice, you’ve been on break while I’ve been on tour,” I told him and he chuckled.

I noticed Harry tense up when I said those words. I wish he’d stop being so sensitive towards everything that involved my new life in America.

We made it to the arcade and Niall and I ran inside like little kids. We ran straight over to where the claw machines always were.

I was confused when I only saw one claw machine when there were usually three. I looked over at Niall, “Where are the other two?” I asked him.

“I have know idea,” he said, equally as confused as I was. We walked closer to it and I realized that it was a completely different claw machine.

“What the hell,” I said.

“They got rid of it,” Niall said.

“What’s going on?” Harry asked.

“Look, that guy works here lets ask him,” Niall said ignoring Harry’s question. We went over to the guy sweeping the floor,

“What happened to the claw machines?” Niall asked.

“What?” the guy asked.

“Those claw machines, there used to be three of them,” I said.

“Look, I just clean the floors, why don’t you go ask the owner or someone else,” he said clearly annoyed with us, and he stuck his other headphone in his ear and walked off.

I rolled my eyes and Niall and I headed to the front desk with a confused Harry walking behind us.

“Why are you both making such a big deal over this, it’s just a claw machine,” Harry said.

I rolled my eyes at him as well. He was somewhat right, but the machine’s held a lot of memories for Niall and I. Niall rang the bell at the empty front desk and waited for someone to come. Once someone emerged from the back, Niall began to speak.

“Can we talk to the manager?” Niall asked.

“Yeah hold on,” the lady said and went to the back.

A few moments later an older lady came from the back.

“Liv? Niall? Is that you?” the lady asked.

“Carol?” Niall asked. “I didn’t know you still worked here.”

“Yep, I’m here everyday. Say, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen you bother here, How’s fame treating you?” she asked with a smile.

“It’s good,” we both replied.

“It’s nice to see you both back here. So what can I do for you?”

“We were wondering about the claw machines.” Niall stated more then asked.

“Oh those old things, had to get rid of them. One broke, and the other two were too easy to win something from, we were almost out of toys by the end of the day.” she told us.

“I know you two liked to win a bunch of toys everyday,” she added with a smile.

“We only got like five each though, now ever took very many,” Niall said.

“I know but that was when the alley first opened, now business is getting better and more people have been coming and more people have been winning a bunch of things from the machines.” she explained.

We nodded, deciding to just let it go and forget about it all, it’s not like we ever used it anymore, it’s the first time we’ve both been here in a long time. We said bye to her and left the bowling alley.

“I believe someone owes me lunch,” Niall said and poked my shoulder.

“Yeah whatever,” I said and shooed his hand away as we walked to the car.

I was walking slightly faster than them so I could make sure that I got to sit in the front. I think Harry noticed what I was doing because he started walking next to me, a few paces ahead with a smirk creeping on his face. He reached the car and Niall unlocked it. Harry took his long legs to his advantage and took one big step ahead of me and opened the front door and got in.

I sighed and got in the back seat. Once I was in, Harry turned around a playfully stuck his tongue out at me. I rolled my eyes at him, and he turned around once Niall started up the car.

It was different seeing Harry so cheeky and playful today. The last few times I’ve seen him, he was fighting with me. I wasn’t sure if I liked him better playful or when he was ignoring me. I like him playful because he’s nice, but I like him ignoring me because I don’t have to talk to him and I can stay mad at him.

As he was being friendly, it made some of the angry emotions fade, but they quickly came back when I reminded myself that I was mad at him, infuriated with him. I was still confused to his sudden change of attitude though, I needed to remind myself to ask him later, and make sure I get an answer.

About ten minutes later, we arrived at the restaurant of Niall’s choice.
