1. Chapters 1- 8

Chapter 1:

"Happy Birthday, dear Erin, Happy Birthday to you!"

The chorus ended and I was engulfed in hugs. "Thanks guys." i said. I sat on the couch for my favorite part. Presents. I don't care how greedy it makes me sound; we both know it's the best part. "Here you go, sweety." Said my mom as she handed me a small package. It was wrapped in hot pink paper with a silver bow.

"Thanks, mom." I said. Underneath the paper was a small black box. I opened it and took out a silver necklace with my initials on it. "I love it!!" I said. I moved my hair over so it draped over my shoulder. "Here, let me do it." She said. She took the gift from my hands and put it round my neck.

The cool sensation from the metal gave me small goose bumps. "My turn!" I heard someone shout. I looked to the side and saw one of my best friends, Savannah. "Ohhhh, what did you get me this year?!" I said. She smiled and took a card out from behind her back. "Open and find out."

I ripped open the envelope and slid the card out. I opened it and $300 fell from it. "WHAT??" I yelled. She chuckled and smiled at me. "Were going shopping on Saturday. So here's $300." My mouth was agape in shock. "Oh, close your mouth before a fly goes in it or something." she said. I smiled and hugged her. "Your the best friend ever."  I said.

"Wait, what about me??" I heard a voice from behind. "Shut up, Niall we both know she loves me more." Savannah said. I Laughed and turned to face Niall. "I love you, too, Nialler."

"You better love me after what i paid for your gift.." He mumbled. "What was that??" I said, "I refuse to take cheek from you, mister Horan." He laughed and handed me a small box. It was wrapped in blue paper with white polka dots. I stripped it from the covering it and found another black box.

"Well, are you gonna open it?" He giggled. I opened the box and revealed a small diamond ring on a silver band. "Niall.." I gasped. "It's beautiful!" I put it on my finger and extended my hand to examine it. "I knew you would like it." he said.

Chapter 2:

"Erin" I heard someone say. "Erin" they repeated. I groaned and mumbled back a response. "What do you wannntttt" I whined. "For you to get the hell up so were not, oh' i don't know, LATE FOR SCHOOL? YOU PRAT!" I opened my eyes to see Savannah. "Good morning to you, too, then." I said. She smiled and walked over to my dresser, pulling out bright red skinny jeans and a black top.

"Here, put these on. And be quick with the make up today, were already running behind schedule." I sat up and took the clothes from her hands while mumbling a quick thanks. I watched her walk halfway through the door before I asked her, "Did Niall stay over last night?" She turned and looked at me before walking to my bed and taking a seat. She looked at me, thinking about what to say.

"Erin, he did stay last night. But he's not going to..." Her voice trailed off at the end. "He's not gonna what?" I asked. "Never mind that, I'm sure he'll tell you later. Get dressed." She said, patting the clothes in my hand that she had given to me seconds before.

She stood up and walked out of the room, closing the door behind her. What was she talking about? He's not going to what? I shrugged it off and got dressed, then did my makeup. I kept it simple as always, just a quick swipe of mascara and a little bit of blush. I grabbed my bag and a gray sweatshirt before leaving my bedroom.

The smell of waffles filled my nose as i descended the staircase, causing a smile to creep onto my face. "Yummy" I said as I entered the kitchen. I sat down next to Savannah and started putting food on my plate. "Save some for me!" I heard a voice from the other room. Niall walked in and sat on my other side smiling. "Soooo I have news for you Erin."

I looked at him inquisitively and smiled. "What is it?" I said, swallowing my food. He smiled and looked at Savannah, who did not look happy at all. "Well, you know how I was thinking about auditioning for The X-Factor?" He asked. I nodded my head, as this was old news. Niall's been singing since he could even speak. I wasn't surprised last summer when he said he might try out. "Yep" I said, waiting for him to continue.

"Well, Im going to do it." He said, looking at me with a smile. I let out a shriek of joy and hugged him. This has been his dream for as long as I can remember, and he' finally getting a shot at it. N words could explain my happiness. "Niall! That's great! When do you leave?" I said. His smiled faded and he looked at his hands. "Niall?" I said, raising his chin to look at me.

"Well..." He started. I looked in his eyes and waited for him to continue. "I leave tomorrow morning, and if i make it past the first round.." He trailed off. I raised my eyebrows and spoke. "What happens after you make the first round?" I asked. He bit his lip and looked me in the eyes. "I won't be back for 3 months." He said quietly. Shock took over my body as his words sunk in.

"Well, what happens if you make it past the second round?" I asked. "I won't be back for 5."

Chapter 3:

I  thought about what Niall had just said. 5 months? How am I supposed to last for 5 months without my best friend? But then it hit me. "What if I came with you?" I asked looking up at him. He thought about it for a moment then said, "I guess you could come with me for the audition."  I smiled and hugged him while we both laughed. I thought about his future, how his dreams were finally coming true.

Niall's P.O.V.

She hugged me and smiled. God, I love her smile. I'm gonna miss that when I'm gone. But at least she's comming with me to the audition...right? I still get to see her then... but what happens when the audition is over? What happens if I make it through, and she goes home?  I thought about all the possibilities. "Niall? Are you okay?" She said. I smiled, pulling myself back from my thoughts. "Yeah, I'm fine, But...were late for school." I said. Erin and Savannah laughed. Man, I forgot Savannah was even in the here. It felt like Erin and I were in the room alone.

Savannah's P.O.V.

What's up with Erin? No, wait. What's up with Niall? He's in a whole different world. I'm just worried about Erin. It's clear she has feelings for Niall, but I have no clue whether or not he feels the same. I mean, he drops subtle hints every here and there, but it's just not clear. you know what I mean? We all got into Erin's car and drove to school, singing along to every song that came on during the drive.

"Can we pretend that air planes in the night sky are like shooting stars, cause I could really use a wish right now, wish right now, wish right now-"

"Niall shut up, this is my part:" Said Erin. I giggled while she tried to rap. "I could use a dream, or a genie, or a wish, to go back to a place much simpler than this" We pulled into the parking lot of the school. I got out of the car first, then they followed. I walked into the front doors and took off for class, leaving them behind. When I walked into homeroom, everyone was staring at me and whispering.

I sat down next to my friend Katie. Her hair was pulled back into a bun today, with a white flower pinned to her blazing red hair. "Hey ginger." I said as i pulled out my books for the day. "Hey." She replied. I looked at her and made a weird face, and we both laughed. "Your too cheery in the morning for your own good, Savannah." She smirked at my look of shock and hurt and started talking about last nights chemistry homework, although I wasn't listening. I was in deep thought, trying to decipher what everyone in the class was talking about.

"Hey Katie," I said, looking at her. "Yeah?" She asked. I moved to a more comfortable position in the stiff desk and asked her what had been drilling my brain for the past couple minutes. "Why is everyone talking about me?" Her face tightened and she avoided my gaze. "Katie?" I said.

"They're not talking about you, Savannah, they're talking about Erin. They're looking at you because everyone knows how inseparable you two are." I scrunched up my eyebrows in confusion. "Why is everyone talking about Erin, then?" "Because word has it she slept with Niall." I raised my eyebrows in disbelief. "Erin? Sleep with Niall? Of all people? Who started that rumor?" She bit her lip, deciding whether or not to tell me. "Niall did."

Chapter 4:

I parted ways with Niall and walked to my homeroom. I don't really understand why Savannah was in such a rush to leave, we have the same homeroom teacher. I shrugged it off and walked into class, scanning the room for Savannah. I found her sitting next to a red haired girl named Katie, and it was obvious they were gossiping. I sat down next to them and laughed, "Is this all you two ever do?" Katie laughed and Savannah said, "Yea, pretty much." I chuckled and kept the conversation going. "So what are you guys talking about now?" They both looked at each other. "Well, rumor has it you slept with Niall..." Katie said, her voice fading towards the end.

Katie's P.O.V.

It was obvious that Erin hadn't heard the rumor yet. The only thing that was hard to decipher was her facial expression. Was she sad? If so, was it because this was all a lie, or was it because no one was supposed to find out? Was she angry? Confused? I couldn't tell, and when I looked over to Savannah, I knew she couldn't either. We sat in silence while Erin thought. The whispers and sounds of pencils scratching on paper filled the lack of noise coming from our mouths.

Erin finally broke the silence by scoffing. "Who the hell started that stupid piece of crap rumor? Because they're about to get a beat down." She said. I looked over to Savannah, and it was clear she wasn't going to tell Erin, so I did. "Everyone is saying Niall started it. Remember the party last weekend? Well you were really drunk, so I guess you and know, it." I said. Her mouth quickly opened to say something, but closed just as fast. I could see the hurt in her eyes as she thought of what to say.

"But why would Niall do that? I never even touched him." She Said, her voice cracking in the end. Her bright blue eyes filled with tears, and before she could stop herself they were streaming down her face. I reached out and hugged her, pulling away only to wipe the streams of tears flowing from her eyes with my thumbs. "It's okay, Erin, Savannah and I believe you." I said in a comforting voice. Savannah stood up. I slowly let go of Erin, thinking she was going to take her turn in comforting the poor girl. But she just looked at us, turned around, and stormed out of the class.

Savannah's P.O.V.

It all happened so fast. Erin started crying, and I felt a monster erupt in my stomach. Wanting, demanding to take over my entire being. I stood up from my chair and ran out of the class. I power walked down the hall, scanning every corner, every inch, trying to find the messy mop of blonde hair that caused my best friend pain. I turned the corner, walking to one of the many places I might find him. Sure enough, there he was, getting his morning snack out of his locker. I walked up behind him and slammed the door shut, causing the loud noise to echo down the hall. If it weren't for all the people talking, everyone would've noticed. He turned to look at me, and the beast inside clawed and scratched, trying to escape. "You," I said, trying to keep my cool, "You made Erin cry. You've got 10 seconds to explain why before your the one in tears." He looked at me. The confusion on his face was unconvincing. "Why did you have to start that stupid rumor? Erin would never sleep with you, she doesn't even find you attractive." I said, fists clenching at my sides. "If you want to be with her, you ask her on a date, not tell the entire school she slept with you at the stupid party, you prick." I spat. He opened his mouth to explain, but he never got the chance. "Your 10 seconds is up." I said, before my fist made contact with his right eye.

Chapter 5:

Niall's P.O.V.

I felt the pain in my eye as soon as Savannah made contact. "WHAT THE FUCK?!" I yelled. She glared at me, turned around and walked away. But seriously, what the hell was that for? I'm so confused. I opened up my locker again and got the books  I needed for class. Before closing it again, I looked at my eye in the little mirror attached to the door. It wasn't that bad, a little red, but probably not going to bruise. I shut the locker door as the bell for first period rang. I walked to my first class, math. I sat down next to a friend of Erin and Savannah's named Katie. "Hey." I said as I took my seat. She looked over at me and asked, "Why did you spread that rumor about Erin?" I looked at her, confused.

"What rumor? Savannah asked me the same thing before I got punched by her." I said. Katie looked shocked.

"Savannah punched you?"

"Because of the rumor you started?"

"I didn't start that stupid rumor, Katie, but yes. That is why she hit me."

She opened her mouth to say something, but was interrupted by the teacher telling us all to quiet down.

Katie's P.O.V.

I don't know why, but for some crazy reason I actually believed Niall. The way his eyes looked when he said he didn't do it...something in them made me believe him. I was about to tell him that I knew he didn't do it when the teacher hushed me. Rude much? Yea. I thought so too. The rest of the day went by okay. I met up with Erin and Savannah during lunch so I could explain what happened with Niall in math.

"Hey." I said as I sat down. They both grunted in  response, mouths full of today's meal, pizza. "So I have good news." I continued, trying not to laugh at their lack of table manners. Savannah swallowed and asked, "What is it?" I explained everything about the whole  Niall situation, and Savannah rolled her eyes. "You honestly believe him?" Erin, who had already finished her slice and was standing up to get another, said nothing. I watched her walk away towards the lunch line, and wasn't shocked. Today was a weird day for her. Niall, who she's been best friends with since the second grade, is leaving for 3 months, maybe even 5. And on top of all that, this stupid rumor was roaming the ears of all the students in the school. She came back to the table and sat down. She picked up her newly found slice of pizza, looked at me, then to Savannah, then put it down again.

"I believe him, guys. Niall wouldn't do that to me. We've been friends for so long, it just doesn't seem possible." She said. I looked at Savannah, who was obviously defeated. "Okay, I guess I can believe him if you guys can." Erin and I smiled,

Chapter 6:

I took a deep breathe as I walked onto the stage. "Good luck!" I heard Erin call to me. I took my place in the center and looked out into the audience.

"What is your name?" I heard someone ask me. I pulled out of my thoughts and looked at the judge's panel to see Louis Walsh awaiting my answer.

"Niall." I quickly said.

"Niall what?"

"And why are you here today?"

"I'm here to be the best artist I can be."

"Ok, and Niall, how old are you?"

"I'm 16, Louis"

I heard the crowd clap and Louis tried to speak over them.

"So you're like and Irish Justin Bieber, yea?"

"I reckon so."

I heard a female voice and looked to Louis' right. There sat Katie Perry.

"Does this make you really popular at school?"

"Yea, school is ok."

She turned to face the audience and made a look of surprise, using her hand to cover her mouth.

Louis suggested I start singing, so I did.

"Gotta change my answering machine

now that I'm alone

cause right now it says that we

can't come to the phone

and I know it makes no sense

cause you walked out the door

but it's the only way I hear your voice anymore"

The crowd cheered and a smile lit up on my face. Katie started talking, and they all went silent.

"I think your adorable," she started. Adorable?

"And, you have charisma...I just think that you should...maybe work on it...your only 16..."

chapter 7:

Savannah's P.O.V.

I walked down the sidewalk away from the school, my eyes glued to my phone as the sound of sneakers against pavement filled my ears. Katie was walking next to me, rambling on about how she wants a boyfriend.

"Just give it time," I said, looking up at her, "You don't wanna rush yourself into a relationship." She shrugged her shoulders. "I just hate being lonely..." I sighed. We've had this argument a million times before. "Listen, stop feeling bad for yourself, we can deal with that later. Right now, we have to figure out how we're gonna get my parents out of the house in time for the weekend."

"Oh yea, that." she said. I raised an eyebrow at her. "This party is gonna be really hard to pull off, Savannah." She looked at me while she spoke. "Yea, but it'll be worth it in the end." I said, looking back at my phone.

We started thinking of ways to try and get my parents out of the house for the night, and eventually gave up.

"Let's just have it at my beach place." She said. I agreed, since her parents would think we were just spending the weekend like we always do.

We got to her house and went straight to her room. We were just planning what snacks to buy for the party when my phone rang. I picked it up, and saw it was Erin. "ERRRIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNN!!!!" I said, while Katie tried to take the phone from me.

"Hey" she said and laughed while i tried to keep Katie at an appropriate distance. "What's up with Niall?" I said. I finally agreed with Katie, and put the phone on speaker.  We all talked for a bit, and said hi to Niall before she had to go.

Erin's P.O.V.

I hung up the phone and walked down the hall with Niall. "Do you know where your parents are?" I asked, looking at him. "Naw," he said, "But I was hoping I could talk to you in private." I looked at him. "What's wrong?" I asked as I stopped walking. I could tell he was nervous. He looked down at his shoes, debating if he should tell me what was on his mind.

"What's wrong?" I said again. He looked at me and shifted his feet a little. "Well...I..." He said. Silence filled the air for what felt like forever.

"I like you." He said, shuffling his feet again. What? He likes me? Me? ME? Wait, hold up. Niall likes me. This is... amazing.

Chapter 8:

Katie's P.O.V.

Savannah and I planned the rest of the party, then decided to go to sleep. We woke up the next morning and got ready for school. "Red skinny jeans and my Minnie Mouse shirt, or purple skinny jeans with my Barney shirt?" I said looking at her. "Uummmm.... purple skinnies with barney." she said.

I pulled on my clothes and started my make up. I did a thin cat eye, with the wings flaring up to make my eyes look more dramatic. Or...well, at least that's what the box it came in said.

Savannah was wearing her neon green skinny jeans with her black Asking Alexandria band shirt, paired with black heels and neon green studs in her ears.

"Well, someone's playing up their punk side today." I said while i looked at her outfit. She laughed and said whatever, and I slipped on my green flats. "Let's go." She said.

We pulled into the school's parking lot and got out of the car. I opened the trunk and grabbed my book bag.

we walked into the building and had our usual classes. I walked into first period and sat down, the teacher told us all to be quiet. She announced that we have a new student in our class, and made her get in front of everyone and introduce herself.

"My new friend senses are tingling." Savannah said, poking my shoulder. I shushed her, saying it's rude to speak when people are presenting. "She's not presenting. She's introducing herself." I shook my head.

I could see the girl was nervous, she was playing with her fingers; knotting then between her hair, then taking them out and repeating the process. "So what's your name?" The teacher asked, looking at the girl.

" name is Jasmin..." She said. Her hair was curly and black, and about medium in length. Her skin was tan, and she had big brown eyes. She had on a white knee length dress, with a thin brown leather belt around the middle and  leather flats in the same color.

"And where are you from, Jasmin?" asked the teacher.

USA. Cool.

"And why did you move to Ireland, Jasmin?"

Why is the teacher being so damn mean?

"Because my Mom wanted a change in environment."

The teacher starred at her, then turned to the class.

"Does anyone have a question for Jasmin?"

I saw a girl on the other side of the class raise her hand.

"What do you do for fun?"

"welI, I dance. I like to play soccer. I crochet, too...and I sing." she finished.

so the reason why I have 8 chapters here is because I had paused the story on my old account while it was 8 chapters in. That's all :)
