A Thousand Years (Sequel to Red)

The moment you realize that in the blink of an eye you have lost everything, its the most terrifying moment of my life. As I drive away from not only my friends, but my family the recent events played in my head. Its hard to believe that in an instant you can looses everyone important to you. Here I am, driving away from the people who picked me up when I fell down and got me where I am today. The people whom I called my family.

55. She Is The Reason

***Liam's POV***

Sometimes I wonder, why do I try anymore? Not a night goes by when I don't find myself crying myself to sleep. Each night I dream about the moment I learned of her disappearance and the note, the words on the note haunt me. You guessed it. I got her. By now I have pushed everyone away. People who care about me, people who love me, I push them all away. The only person I want is Beth. Until the moment I get her back, my life will never be the same.

I was sitting my the window, staring out at the hopeless rain clouds, wondering, could she see this rain too? Were we looking at the same sky, was she thinking about me? My thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door. When I didn't respond the door slowly opened and Louis walked in.

"Liam, we need you to come downstairs so we can talk about something." Louis said softly.

My gaze did not meet his nor did it leave the rain clouds.

"Liam." He said.

Still my eyes did not shift.

"Liam I know you miss her, we all do but we need to talk about this." Louis sighed.

Finally my eyes met his. I slowly stood up and followed him out of the room silently. We reached the bottom of the stairs and I could see everyone sitting in the living room. I took my seat in Beth's old place.

"So, we've been putting this talk off for some time now and I believe its time we talk about... what happened." Harry sighed.

"Whats there to talk about?!" I spat.

They all stared at me, worry in their eyes.

"Well first of all your attitude." Niall said.

I glared at him. "You have no idea how I feel right now."

"We know that but Liam, we still miss her. A lot." Louis sighed.

"So... does anyone have any idea of where she might be?" Emily asked.

They all shook their heads.

"We need a plan then. A plan to look for her." Zayn said.

We all thought for a moment.

"I- I have an idea but I don't think Liam will like it very much." Niall said. "Um, I think we're all guessing that Danielle is working with her father. Liam... I know you won't like this but if you make her believe that you still love her and use your charm on her, she may give away the location of Beth."

I stared at him. "Are you mental? Are you absolutely mental?!"

"Its just an idea Liam and its not a bad idea." Miranda said.

"I don't think any of you realize just how much I hate her. She is the reason why I went six months of my life without Beth. She is the reason why her father is out of prison and SHE is the reason why I don't have her now." I yelled.

"She is the reason why she may not even be alive now." I whispered.

Just the thought of Beth being dead made tears fall. They were all silent. I saw a tear slip down Miranda's cheek.

"I- I never really thought about that." Niall mumbled.

"None of us did." Louis whispered.

"What are we going to do?" El asked quietly, tears in her eyes.

"I don't know." I mumbled.

I got up and walked back upstairs. I laid down on the bed and hugged Beth's pillow to my chest. Soon I feel asleep.

I was walking alone in a forrest, fog filled the forrest floor. It was nighttime and I could hear the crickets in the trees. The full moon above me was the only light. The vast forrest almost seemed endless, like there was no way out. As I walked the twigs and leaves below my feet snapped. No matter how long or how far I walked, I still did not meet the end. A twig snapped behind me and I whirled around. A woman stood there. She had long dark brown hair and piercing blue eyes. She looked so much like Beth, but it wasn't. I knew who it was.

"Evelyn?" I whispered.

She nodded slowly. I looked around.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"I listen. Every time you come to my grave. I listen." She told me.

"Y-you do?" I asked.

She nodded. "You come to see me when you miss her. Liam, I have never seen a boy look at a girl the way you look at Beth."

I could feel tears in my eyes. "B-but he took her from me. She may even be dead."

She shook her head. "She's not dead. She's close to it though."

"Can you tell me where she is?" I asked in a shaky voice.

She shook her head. "That I do not know."

"How do you know she's alive then?" I asked her.

"I watch over her. She's hurting. She needs you Liam." She whispered.

She began fading into the distance.

"No wait!" I called.

She disappeared and I was again left alone in the forrest. I need to find her.
