Dumbledore's Apprentice The First Year (COMPLETE)

Alisha Moonglow is a 12 year old girl, tortured by some cruel force of nature, but when Albus Dumbledore rescues her from the lips of a Dementor she learns she has gifts, gifts that will open doors she never knew were closed, gifts that will earn her a place in Hogwart School Of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This will be updated every Monday.

This is finito but I will be posting sneak peeks, diary entries, quizzes and fun stuff like that!

5. The Duel

Alisha, exhausted from her trek in the forest, plonked herself down next to Harry at dinner time. Her mouth was too dry for her to eat anything, and anyway, her hands were quaking because of the terrible things she'd seen in the forest, so she'd probably have dropped her knife and fork. Harry and Ron were talking, well so was everyone else in the hall, but Alisha wanted to listen in on their conversation, although she wasn't quite sure why. Malfoy came up behind Harry, with Crabbe and Goyle.

"Having a last meal, Potter?" Draco spat. Alisha waved to him from across the table. He waved back awkwardly.

"Yeah, you'll get sent back to your goggle family tomorrow!" Goyle chipped in, Alisha made personal note to find out his first name.

"What are goggles?" Asked Ron.

"He means muggles." Draco answered.

"Your a lot braver now you've got your little friends with you, aren't you, Malfoy." Harry retorted, Crabbe and Goyle certainly weren't little, but the hall was swarming with teachers, so all they could do was scowl. Alisha had lost interest by then, and was scavenging under the tables for something, she came out looking triumphant with something brown and moving in her hands.

"A MOUSE, A MOUSE!" She bellowed showing the mouse to the hall. Suddenly a volcano of screams erupted in the Great Hall. Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyle shrieked and hid under the table. Dumbledore stepped down from the teacher's table and walked towards Alisha. Everyone went silent, Draco and his cronies peeked out from under the table.

"Alisha, give me the mouse."

"But, I want to keep him and call him Train..."

"Why would you call a mouse Train?" Hermione interjected.

"Becuase it's cool. And I would keep him in a shoe and feed him chocolate biscuits, with lemon in them every day." Alisha continued, going watery eyed at the thought of it.

"Alisha give me the mouse!" Dumbledore repeated and Alisha did, whispering,

"Bye bye Train, don't forget me, I shall telepathically send you chocolate biscuits with lemon in them."

"Now Alisha, please apologise to the children in the hall." Dumbledore said, letting the mouse out through the window.

"I'm sorry, and train is sorry too, we didn't know he was scary." The children in the hall smiled, no one could stay angry at Alisha for long. Everyone went back to the positions they had been before. Draco, who couldn't quite remember where he had been before the mouse incident, decided to wrap up and and Potter's chat.

"A wizard's duel then Potter, at Midnight, today! Guess this is the first time you've heard of a wizard's duel, is it?"

"Of course it isn't, I'm his second." Scoffed Ron.

"Well then Crabbe's my second."

"I'm his third!" Announced Alisha

"Well then, Goyle's my... third." Draco said puzzled, before waking away.

"You don't have thirds Alisha." Moaned Ron, they certainly didn't want her tagging along.

"Well you do now!" Exclaimed Alisha, getting up, stroking the table and going upstairs to bed. She wanted to get some rest before the duel at Midnight!

Harry, Ron and Alisha were all ready and were almost at the portrait hole, when a voice sounded from behind them,

"I cannot believe you are doing this Harry, and you Alisha, of course I can completely believe that Ron would do such a thing but....." Hermione was stood behind them in a pale pink dressing gown and fluffy slippers.

"Hey.." Ron started, but Harry nudged him and he shut up. They exited the portrait hole, only to find Hermione was still there. "Go away Hermione!" Ron said with clenched teeth.

"Fine, I will!" But she didn't "The Fat Lady's gone to visit someone, she's not in, I can't get back in!" Hermione said, sounding worried. "I'll have to come with you!" Ron moaned, three was a crowd, but four? But all the same, they set off and went to find Draco Malfoy, who Harry announced would be in the Trophy Room. Before they could even get anywhere they bumped into something.

"Mrs Norris." Ron whispered. Now they were for it! But it wasn't Mrs Norris, it was Neville!

"Thank goodness you're here, I got stuck out here and I couldn't remember the password."

"It's pig snout Neville, but it won't do you any good now! The Fat Lady's out for the night and we can't get back in!" Hermione said

"Oh, can I come with you guys then?"

"Sure." Said Harry before Ron could do anything stupid. But when they arrived at the Trophy Room, there was no one else there!

"He's chickened out!" Exclaimed Ron, hurt. Then they heard something behind them. Filch.

"Run." Whispered Neville and they did. They ran and ran until the bumped into Peeves.

"Peeves, don't say anything, please!" Begged Harry.

"Ah, how sweet, ickle firsties out of bed at midnight." Peeves danced around them

"Peeves, please don't!" Said Alisha, so Peeves didn't, he went to annoy Snape instead.

"Look there's a door at the end of this corridor!" Said Neville.

"Alohmora." Whispered Hermione and Alisha and the same time.

"Jinx." Muttered Alisha.

"What was that?"

"Nothing." And they pushed the door open. Neville began tugging on Harry's pyjamas.

"Neville, get off!" Said Harry turning around to face a three headed dog. All five children screamed and ran for their lives back to the Gryffindor common room.

'PIG SNOUT!" They shouted in unison before flopping down on the sofas and armchairs.

"Did you see what it was standing on?" Asked Hermione, who (unfortunately) had got her breath back first.

"I think we were all to occupied with it's heads, did you notice it had three of them?"

"It was standing on a trapdoor, it's guarding something. Now if you don't mind, I'm going to bed, before either of you come up with another clever idea, to get us all killed, or worse, expelled."

"She needs to sort out her priorities. Alisha heard Ron say, before Hermione dragged her to bed as well. It wasn't hard to fall asleep.
