The Best Three Days Of My Life

Jake is just your average 15 year old. He isn't very well liked and people just make him sick. But, when new girl Clarisse shows him some kindness, will he change? Or is heartbreak going to swing another blow to his pride?

1. Cloudy Mornings

The sun rose over another shitty day in Bedford. Well, it would have if you could actually see it through all the cloud. Yes, it was going to be a shit day; it always was.

Jake sighed and swung his long legs out of bed. He was the perfect image of your everyday 15 year old boy. He was not overly tall, slightly muscular and had messy, light brown hair. That and the fact that he hated school.

Boys will be boys, they said.

He’ll find a hobby, they said.

What did they know; they weren’t forced through five hours of being with people you couldn’t stand.

But there he was, walking down the road with a slice of toast, ready for the first day of the new school year. Whoop de fucking doo.

“Oi, Rockwell,” Evan Bassett, little Mr Popular called, “Still not got your nose fixed?”

“At least I don’t look like an angry bird.” He called back.

What? Evan did look like an angry bird! His nose was slightly hooked, and his green eyes were big and he always looked…well…angry. There was no other way to describe him.

He could hear him and his posse coming up behind him. Knowing Evan, this meant a fight.

That’s just the way Evan was; he always had to have his fist in someone’s face.

Jake turned around to face them. Behind Evan was Andrew; a small, sweet guy. He was blonde and his hair was a little long, down to about his chin, and big brown eyes. God only knew why he hung around with Evan. Andrew was nice to everyone, and everyone liked him even if he was a bit of a nerd.

Then there was Megan, picking at her nails.

Now, Jake wasn’t the sort of person to call a girl a bitch; but Megan Ford was the only exception. She had her straight brown hair tied into a low ponytail, allowing her fringe to fall into her grey eyes. She could get boys to do whatever she wanted and everyone just loved her. If that wasn’t a perfect definition of a bitch, he didn’t know what was.

“What did you just say to me?” Evan growled.

“You deaf, Bassett? I said you look like an angry bird.”

Then the fists went flying.
