1. McDonald's

"Hurry, hurry, hurry! We have a busy, busy, day tomorrow! Let's try this again!" My mother yelled through the church sanctuary while clapping her hands.

"Mom," I groaned, "This is only like the tenth time we've practiced today, I think we will be fine." She was kind of a perfectionist.

"Come on Ab, don't yell at her, she just wants this to be perfect. This is a once in a life time opportunity for her." Benjamin scolded me like a child.

"Ben, don't you think this is a little too much? I mean, she already has us practicing three times a day. I think we have it down, I don't want to do this again unless it's for real." I said unrelenting.

"Stop being so dramatic, it only takes an hour. Besides, it does you some good to get out of the house." Ben said simply.

"Whatever, I'm leaving. You can do this without me. I guess you will see me at the altar." I almost yelled. He wants drama? I'll show him drama.

I stormed out of the church and jumped in my car. As I was furiously speeding down the street I texted Zayn.

"Hey, you home? Wanna hang out?"

Within seconds, I got a reply. "Sure! Wanna grab a bite to eat?"

I looked at the clock, it was almost 7. I'd been at the church for almost three hours. It'll only take an hour my butt. I texted him back. "Sounds good! I'll pick you up in 5."

I drove as fast as I could without being pulled over. I made it to his house in four minutes.

"You're early!" he called as he jogged to the car.

"Oh, do you want me to leave and come back?" I asked, trying to be serious.

"No! I'm hungry, let's go!" He said as he jumped into the car. And when I say jumped, I mean jumped. I have a dark blue Mustang Shelby GT Convertible. He jumped over the door, landing perfectly in the seat. Practice makes perfect.

"So, where are we eating?" I asked after a couple minutes of silence.

"Well, I was hoping you'd picked somewhere."

"Hmm. How about Olive Garden?" I asked as we drove past it.

"Too slow."

"Min Jiang?" I asked.

"I'm not really in the Chinese mood today."

"How about..." I trailed off not seeing any good places.

Suddenly I saw it. The heaven of all fast food place. The golden arches that angels should be leaping off of. I looked at Zayn and he looked at me at the same time.

"MCDONALD'S!" We both screamed. We burst into laughter.

We pulled into the parking lot got out and went inside. We stood at the back of the line and deliberated about what we were going to eat.

"I bet I could eat more chicken nuggets than you." I said nonchalantly.

"You're on."

I walked up to the register. "Hi, um, could I get two medium drinks and 40 chicken nuggets please?."

The lady looked shocked for a second, "Um, sure." She said as she giggled and handed me our cups.

I walked back over to Zayn and started laughing as soon as I looked at him, "Oh my gosh, did you see her face? She probably thought all those nuggets were for me!" I laughed.

We just laughed as we went to find a place to sit. Before we sat, we filled our drinks.

"Do you remember the first time we met here?" He asked me.

"Of course I do! I would never forget that, it made my day."

"That was so embarrassing! I had a huge red mark on my forehead for the rest of the day!" We laughed again.

I thought about the first time we met. It was 4 years ago.

I was 14 and I was on my home from my cousin's wedding, my family and I stopped to get something to eat. I was standing in line waiting for the food to come when, all of a sudden, I hear a loud thud. I looked to the doors - where the noise came from - and burst out laughing. Zayn was standing outside the door holding his forehead. He ran into the window next to the door.

I literally almost fell on the floor laughing. I had to run to the bathroom and relieve myself before I left it for someone else to clean up.

When I was about the leave the bathroom, I saw a note slipped under the door. It was a little piece of paper with a phone number and Zayn's name. Of course, I didn't know him at the time so I thought it was a little weird.

I went and found my parents eating already without me. I looked and saw Zayn's family eating across the room from us.

I was only there for about twenty minutes but the whole time I couldn't stop looking at him. And every time I would, he would make a funny face and I would laugh. But when my parents asked me what I was laughing at I would say nothing and we would both look away and pretend as if nothing had happened.

"You know, I didn't really think you were gonna text me." Zayn said a couple minutes later.

"If I didn't text you, we wouldn't be here right now."

"Well, I'm glad you texted me. I made a new best friend that day." he said kindly.

"I-" I was cut off.

"Here's your order sir. I hope you enjoy it." the lady from the register said. Did she really just deliver our meal to our table? "Would you like anything else?"

"Abi? Do you need anything else?" Zayn asked, including me in the conversation.

"No thanks, this is all." I said to the lady.

"Just give me a call if you think of anything." She said to Zayn ignoring me again. She smiled at Zayn and walked back to the counter.

"Wow!" I laughed. "Somebody is desperate."

"Oh, come on, she was just trying to be nice. Give her some credit." Zayn said with a serious face but he cracked quickly.

"Right," I said sarcastically, "Let's eat these nuggets!"

"Okay, here's the rules. We have four minutes to eat as many nuggets as we can. No drinks. And, to make this a little more interesting, you can't use your hands, only your mouth." He split the nuggets in half, he gave me twenty and kept the others for himself.

"What, are you afraid I'll beat you if I use my hands?" I teased him.

"No, I just want to give you a fair chance at this." He winked.

"Zayn!" I smacked his arm lightly. "Take that back!"

"Okay, okay. I'm sorry. Let's get this started! Five minutes in three... two..." and leaned over and picked up his first nugget, it was gone in seconds.
