16 year old Violet just moved to the states from Austrailia. She was considered the "emo girl" at her other school just because she wore mostly black and she listened to bands that some people called satan worshiping bands. She never really had "crushes" on people or ever been in love, until she meets a boy named Gerard. Will Violet fall for Gerard or will she continue on her love free life.

1. New Girl

I hate being the new girl. It sucks. When you walk into a new classroom with everyones eyes laid on you. I feel like this time its gonna be different because I'm from Austrailia and I'm going to a New Jersey school. I'm going to be known as the girl with the weird accent. I've heard many good things about America, I mean I've always wanted to go there since I was little, but will the kids be the same as the kids back home?

I woke up and took a shower. I put a Bring Me the Horizon shirt on with a pair of black skinny jeans and some black high top converses. I put my sky blue medium legnth hair in a messy ponytail. I brushed my teeth and went to the kitchen to go tell my parents goodbye. When I got there, the kitchen was empty. They must have left for their new jobs. Well I had to go start my first day at Newton High School. I know I'm 16 and we've been in America for a week so I had plenty of time to get my license, but I wanted to take the bus because I'm so paranoid that if I start driving I screw everything up and total my car in less than 12 hours.

When I got off the bus and started to the main office to get my schedule and my locker number, I noticed a whole group of girls who seemed to be "girly" looked at me and started to laugh. Nope. American schools aren't very different from Austrailian schools so far. I got to the main office got what I needed and then went to my first class. Since it was spring, and the school year was basically over, I was going to be behind in class.

I walked into my Algebra 2 class and I noticed alot of kids weren't in the same grade as me. It looked like there were 9th, 11th, 12th graders. That scared me because I'm in the 10th grade here and older kids scare a little because their bigger and I get bullied alot for the way I dress. The teacher saw me and motioned me to come towards her. "Class, today we have a new student. What's your name dear?" "Ummm my name is Violet Peir." I have a fear of speaking in front of people. The teacher took my schedule to make sure I was in the right class. "Ok Violet you can sit next to Mikey. Mikey raise your hand so Violet knows who you are." A kid who looked like he was the same age as me raised his hand. I took my stuff and sat in the desk next to him. The kid next to me named Mikey tapped my shoulder and told me I had a cool accent. I told him thanks and he also compliented my Bring Me the Horizon shirt. A guy who actually has the same music taste as me?! This is amazing.

After school I walked to my bus, but as I was walking someone tapped my shoulder. I turned around and Mikey from  Algebra 2 was there. "Hey. Violet right?" "Yeah my names Violet. Mikey?" He smiled and said, "Yeah. So you ride the bus? That sucks. Do you want me to take you home?" "Aww thats sweet, but I dont want to cause you any trouble and don't want to waste your gas." He laughed. "You won't waste my gas. I just think your cool and want to take you home." I blushed. "Ok." I told him where I lived and we got into his car. Mikey turned on the radio. Of Mice & Men's "My Understandings" was on. I though Mikey was an incredibly sweet guy with an awesome taste in music. About 5 minutes passed then he started talking about how it was when I lived in Austraila. Then he pulled up into my driveway. I got out of the car and told him thanks. When I thought he drove off he spoke up and said, "Hey Violet! I saw you sitting at lunch alone today! You should sit with me and my brother tomorrow!" I smiled and replied with an ok. I think I just made a new friend.
