An Angel's Love

Rebecca Snow did not know what made her special. She only knew her eyes normally green turned silver on the full moon days and nights. That she had two crescent moon birthmarks on her shoulder blades, and that somehow the exchange student seemed to follow her everywhere. Watched her with a certain degree that she found both endearing and slightly stalker-ish. She didn't think she loved him, but what if he had the key to a secret that could open her eyes and tell her who she is. _What_ she is.

Phillip Evans knew what he was, a Fallen Angel, cast down from Heaven because he could not choose fast enough, but not accepted by Hell at the same time. He found love in the Louisiana town Carlyss, her name Rebecca Snow, she didn't know she was a Fallen. Her eyes normally green, glowed silver on the days and nights of the full moon, just as his did. She had the mark of the Fallen on her shoulders. She was his soul mate, only she didn't know it...yet

8. Carmella's Secret

Carmella's Secret

The class ended shortly before the snow storm began. Everyone who was originally from Louisiana knew it never snowed here. But Rebecca couldn't deny that it was snowing here in the small town of Carlyss, Louisiana. She turned to face Philip and he was whistling like he had no idea what was happening, but she saw his fingers weaving, the same way they were when he broke the chains that had bound her.

"Philip Evans! Stop what you're doing!"

"What are you talking about dear?" Philip said to Rebecca without glancing at her. He was intent on one piece of snow, one snow flake. It landed in her out stretched palm and with her angel eyes she saw that in the flake intricately drawn and written was a heart with curly feminine writing she was used to expecting from Philip when he worked with ice, the letters connected to form, I love you Rebecca. Rebecca couldn't help but smile as she looked up and saw that all of the snow flakes said the same. She didn't want it to stop snowing now. The students ran around in the snow having no idea what a special flake it truly was as it landed on their heads, on their forts and crunched harmoniously under their shoes.

Rebecca ran into Philip and planted a kiss on his lips. His hands never stopped they're weaving but somehow he made it so that they rested around her waist. Her hands interlocked behind the nape of his neck.

"I love you Philip. But whatever will you do on St. Valentine's Day?"

"I'll think of something my love. I'm very romantic. I've have thousands of years to prepare."

"I love you." Rebecca kissed him once more, when the broke apart the snow seized to fall and on the ground it was gone as fast as it had appeared. Rebecca was saddened by this but she realized Philip had lowered the temperature dramatically to make the snowflakes and must've been hard on him.

"I love you too Rebecca." He took her hand in his and they finally exited the History Hall.  "Let's go to the library."

"Okay."

"Science class is next."

"Then after I get to kick you're ass."

"Karate, ha-ha how do you know you'll win?" Philip said.

"I'm Gabrielle. I'm built for war."

Rebecca stopped suddenly when she saw Carmella, the student that Cinder thought to be an angel. Rebecca knew she was correct of course her aura was a bright cobalt, inlaid with silver. Only an Arch Angel had that kind of aura. She was Chasity.

"Carmella."

"I know, I know your Gabrielle, and you must know my identity."

"Chasity. Must you be so rude?" Philip said clearly bored.

"Philip!" I cried.

"What you're thinking the same thing!" I laughed, because I was thinking the same thing. Carmella was being extremely rude. It was like she chose the Devil, but her aura would be gold not blue. I looked at her and as I did her aura started to change. It went from the brightest blue, to the brightest gold.

"Damn it." I whispered under my breath.

"What?" I turned towards Philip and said,

"She's already chosen."

"What?"

"She chose Lucifer. Morning Star. The Betrayer."

"I give you credit, you're much smarter than I perceived."

"Shut up Chasity." I snarled.

"For such a good angel you sure have a temper." she replied.

"I'm the angel of war you dumb bitch!" I cried before I went to lunge for her. Philip held me by my fore arms and dragged me away. I saw Cinder heading towards the library. She had seen the confrontation as well. "Come on. We have to tell Cinder."

"Will this affect us at all?"

"Of course it will. She was an Arch Angel. The last Arch Angel." I emphasized 'last'. I pulled open the door and was blasted with warmth.  Cinder much to her namesake was holding a little ball of flames. I rolled my eyes and sat beside her next to the combustible books.

"So, how did it go with Carm?"

"She's dark. Gold, you get my drift."

"Seriously? Did you just say 'get my drift?' Your memories of the seventies are coming back to you aren't they?" Cinder said laughing.

"Really Cin? Anyway so I almost freaking killed her."

"You should've. We can't have minions of the Betrayer here."

"Why not?"

"Because, if the Betrayer knows of your progress he will start the Choosing more quickly."

"Whatever I'm not killing her."

"You must." Philip spoke. Rebecca looked at him, flabbergasted that the one who pulled her away from an almost murder was telling her to kill the one he just saved.

"Philip, you just had me save her."

"I know. Cinder could you put that away."

"Oh sorry Phil." Rebecca turned to Philip and saw beads of sweat icing on his forehead. Cinder gasped and cried "We're late!"

"Science class! Have we really been talking that long?"

"Obviously." Philip said sounding bored. "Why should we bother. We have better things to worry about. Like finding the rest of the Fallen before Carmella." he had a point.

"Who needs Science when your an Angel?" Rebecca laughed at the thought. Before she learned who she was she planned to be a Evolutionist. Now she's an angel pretty paradoxical. She grabbed Philip's hand and said, "Come on, Todd he's Carmichael, then there's you, me, and Cinder. Carmella is Chasity and she's a bitch. So and we have Nolan. Six."

"Six."

"Six more." Cinder said sleepily. "Oh Zavanner. He's hot in this cycle, he's in our karate class."

"His human name?"

"Nathan Brown." Cinder replied.

"How did you know?"

"We recognized one another."

"Oh so he's your?"

"Fallen mate, yes."

Rebecca knew what a Fallen mate was, it was the angel who fell with you. Philip fell with her, and Zavanner fell with Zinc. The Z couple. Todd fell with,

"Who did Carmichael fall with?"

"No one. He's a free agent. Why?"

"Thought it might narrow it down a bit."

"But Todd only dates the Fallen girls."

"Really. So being a free agent has an advantage."

"It does. It makes your job so much easier."
