DNA

Sarah is 18, but her life is far from any other high school senior's. Her mother died when she was 16; her father became a drug addict, smoker, alcoholic, and Sarah's worst nightmare. Why? Well, he abuses her.

Sarah doesn't tell anyone though, not even her best (and only) friend Lexi because her father told her that he would hurt her little sisters that her mother left her to raise when it became clear her father wouldn't be able to.

Sarah goes to work one day expecting it to be like every other day. Little does she know she is in for one heck of a surprise.

24. Sister Bonding Time

(A/N Hey guys so this is dedicated to one of my best guy friends because he heped my with some of the ideas for this chapter.  Thanks Ben! :))

Louis’ POV:

I woke up and checked my phone for the time.  I saw that it was 10 o’clock and that there was a new message.

“From Fizzy: Hey mum took the little girls to the park and Lottie and I went to go get Starbucks.  Tell Sarah she has until 11 o’clock to get up and be ready for our day at the mall.  Thanks Louis! Xx”

I quickly typed one in reply.  “To Fizzy: Thanks for letting me know.  I’ll wake her up right now to tell her to get ready. :)”

I put my phone back on the charger and turned over to see that Sarah was still asleep.  Gosh this girl could sleep through a hurricane.  I gently shook her.

“Adjuontwahthujatop,” she mumbled into the pillow.

I laughed at her.  “Sorry love, say again?”

“I don’t want to get up,” she said again, but slower this time and lifting her head off the pillow so I could hear.

I started drawing circles on her back.  “I know, but if you don’t get up, who’s going to go shopping with Fizzy and Lottie?”

She shot up and out of the bed, checking the time.  “Oh crap I only have an hour,” she said, digging through her suitcase to find her shampoo and conditioner.  “Hey Louis, I don’t have time and I trust you to not make me look like an idiot so can you please pick out an outfit?  Thanks love.”  And with that, she closed the door to the bathroom.

I laughed to myself before getting up and walking over to her suitcases.  I pulled out a pink tank top with a dark teal jumper.  I got out her floral heels that matched and some dark skinny jeans.  I knew she had a bag that matched it because I was there when she bought this outfit.  I found it and the bracelets, earrings, and sunglasses she bought and laid it all out on the bed.  I looked over it, quite proud of myself.  I snapped a picture and sent it to Lottie.

“To Lottie: Whatcha think of this for Sarah?  I did it all by myself!”

She responded quickly.  “From Lottie: Cute Lou!  Good job, she’ll love it!”

I smiled at myself before locking my phone and crawling back into my bed.

Sarah’s POV:

I stepped out of the shower to be met with a steamy bathroom.  I walked out of the bathroom and into the bedroom to see what Louis had picked out for me and was greeted by a nice outfit lying on the bed next to my fast asleep boyfriend.  I grabbed the clothes and took them into the bathroom where I changed and started getting ready.  I flat-ironed my hair and applied minimal make-up, just some eye shadow and mascara, before walking out into the bedroom.  I grabbed my phone and checked to find a message from Fizzy.  “From Fizzy x: We are downstairs waiting for when you are ready :)”  I smiled at the message before locking my phone.

I sneaked out of the room, trying not to wake up Louis again, but right before I made it to the door I heard a muffled voice calling my name.  "Yes Louis?"

"Don't just leave me like that!"  I laughed and walked over to the bed, planting a small kiss on his lips.  "Have fun love," he mumbled before falling asleep back on the pillows.  I laughed as I left the room and skipped downstairs.

“Hi girls, you read to go?” I ask Fizzy and Lottie who were sitting on the couch.  They nodded before standing up and grabbing their phones and wallets.  We all hopped into Louis' old car with Fizzy in the back, Lottie in the passenger seat, and me in the drivers' seat.  We immediately turned on the radio before pulling out of the driveway.  The song was ironically Live While We're Young.  The three of us sang at the top of our lungs as we rode down the road.  After the song was over, Fizzy told me about her friends at school and Lottie gave me all the details on her boyfriend.  I was actually excited to meet him by the time she was done talking about him.  They sounded really good together.

The girls then asked me how Louis and I met and how I liked being in a relationship with him.  I told then about McDonald's and that I loved him and our relationship.  We pulled into the parking lot right after they told me they loved our relationship too.  All three of us grabbed our bags and practically ran to TopShop.

"He really does love you you know," Lottie said.

I stopped sorting through the massive rack of clothes so I could look at her.  "Really, you think so?" I replied, looking down blushing.

Fizzy nodded to back up her sister.  "We know so Sarah.  It doesn't really take a rocket scientist to figure it out though."  She must have noticed my puzzled expression because she continued.  "It is so obvious that you two love each other.  He has never acted that way with a girl before.  He looks at you with so much love and don't even get me started about how he never leaves your side.  His arm is either around your waist or slung around your shoulder or his hand is holding yours.  And you do the same things.  You look at him all the time and your eyes have this certain sparkle whenever he's around.  You guys are so adorable it makes me sick," she said while making fake throw up motions.  Lottie joined her as the floor became a lot more interesting to me.

After they settled down we went back to shopping, occasionally asking each other whether or not we liked something.  We made our way from store to store, gathering clothes until we couldn't carry anymore.  By now we were hungry so we went to the Nando's that was on the other end of the shopping center.  We all let out a sigh of exhaustion as we slumped into the booth.  Shortly after we had come in, our waiter came over to us and took our order.  We were talking about what the Tommo family was going to say when they saw all our bags when the waiter came back with our food.

After he had left us to our food I asked the question that had been burning inside me since I heard I was going to have to finish school.  "So do you guys like school?  I have to admit I'm pretty nervous."

"Our school is great Sarah!  Don't worry about a thing!  Plus, you'll have us in between classes and during lunch.  It's going to be great.  And it's only the last half of a year anyway."  Lottie smiled at me after finishing what she was saying.  I nodded back at her before Fizzy contributed to the conversation.  "Don't be nervous Sarah.  It'll be great, I promise."  I nodded again before going back to eating.

Once we were done we payed and went to the car.  This time Lottie was in the back and Fizzy was in the passenger's seat.  I turned on the radio and we had a 20 minute jam session on the way back to the house.

"Ten pounds he's sitting on the couch watching TV right now," Fizzy told Lottie as we walked up the path to the house.

"You're on Fiz," Lottie said shaking Fizzy's outstretched hand.

I walked into the house behind the girls, still laughing due to what Lottie said.  "Louis, we're home!" Fizzy called out.  Johanna had texted us to let us know she was taking the twins and Autumn out to the movies so they could bond.  It was Lilliana's nap time so I'm assuming that's where she was.

"I'm in here!" We heard a muffled call come from the living room.  We walked in to see Louis sitting on the couch, a tub of Oreo ice cream in his hand and eyes glued to Big Bang Theory.  I didn't even know he watched that.

"Um, Lou, I'm pretty sure Sarah didn't break up with you so why are you acting like you just broke off your relationship with your girlfriend?" Lottie asked.

He laughed before motioning us over to him.  "I got lonely," he admitted, a blush prominent on his cheeks.

I saw Lottie slap ten pounds into Fizzy's hand before they walked out of the room to give us some time alone.  After they left, Louis motioned me over to his lap as he turned off the TV.  I snuggled in close to him as he wrapped his arms around me.  "Did you have fun love?"

"Are you kidding, of course I did!  Louis, I love your sisters!"

He laughed.  "Good, because they love you too."

I smiled back at him.  "So what do you want to do now?"

"I'm perfectly content with just staying right here on the couch with you," he said closing his eyes and snuggling his head into my neck and hair.  I giggled at his actions, but was stopped by the sound of my name coming over the baby monitor we had bought.

"Sarah?"  I could tell it was Lilliana.

"Sadly your wish can not be granted at this time," I told him, pulling myself out of his grasp.

He whined the entire time I made my way up the stairs.  Once it was clear to him I wasn't coming back to be with him, I heard pounding coming up the stairs.  "Lilliana what's wrong?" He asked, coming over to us concerned.  He's right to be.  She usually sleeps double this amount of time.  She held her arms out to him and he grabbed her from my arms.  I smiled at the two of them as he rocked her back and forth in his arms.  I came up behind him and whispered in his ear, "you know you're going to make a great dad.  She obviously already sees you as one."  With that I walked out the room to go find the girls.  I was really loving having two younger sisters I could talk to.  Maybe it wouldn't be too bad here.
