Broken Wings

5 years since One Direction had made their last album together. Everyone had gone their separate ways, leaving Harry Styles all alone. No one in the band had spoken since the day that separated them forever. There was a sudden increase in demand to want the boys back together. If it were the fans who supported them from the beginning and when they broke up, it will be the fans to fix the broken wings by helping to put the band back together.

We all managed to get to the studio on time. Harry and Louis still continued to sit on opposite sides of the room. "We have a few songs that we'd like for you guys to sing." Paul said.

"Just as long as I'm not in the same booth as him." Harry said, glancing over at Louis. His arms were crossed over his chest while he sat in his seat. Louis was doing the same. At this point, we all thought that they were both immature. "Fine, we'll record you two separately." Simon said.

After singing a few songs for the new album, we were all told to take a twenty minute break. "Hey Zayn, do you want to go and get something to drink?" Louis asked Zayn. Those two always managed to go out and get drunk somewhere. "Sure." Zayn said, following Louis out of the room.

Harry, Niall, and I were left alone in the studio together. "The band will never be the same." Harry sighed. Niall and I had to agree with Harry. We, as individuals, were all different now. We were older and less immature than we how we were five years ago.

Ten minutes later, Louis and Zayn entered the room laughing. It was good to see the other two guys enjoying themselves. "What are you laughing about?" Niall asked.

"It's none of your business Niall." Louis replied.

Of course, Louis and Zayn would bond over a drink together. It must've brought back the times they had together. They left the rest of us in the dust. "Why should you be concerned about what we talk about?" Zayn asked.

"Why are we keeping secrets from each other all of a sudden?" I asked the two of them. Louis and Zayn both looked at each other. Both were searching for answers in response to my question. Obviously they both didn't know how to answer the question.

I would've never imagined that we'd be keeping secrets from each other. "They're not important." Louis said, sitting down. Zayn found a spot near Louis, still managing to keep a space between them but they were still close. It's like they had become friends again.

"What do you mean 'not important'?" Harry asked.

"Stay out of it, will you?" Louis wasn't handling his anger every well. He became rigid for a second. "If you really want to know, Zayn and I were talking about how stupid this idea of yours is."

For a split second I saw Niall's facial expression change. "Zayn, I thought you said we were going to find a way to get the band together." he said. "You told me those exact words."

"What's the point of getting back together when all we do is fight?" Zayn asked. "Louis and I are perfectly happy with our lives. Maybe you guys should see from our point of view."

"So you think not talking to each other for a long time is your way of saying that you're happy?" I asked. I couldn't believe the words that I was hearing. "We were all brought together because Simon said we weren't good enough to make it solo. Without Simon, we wouldn't be here.

"Simon put us together because he believed that if we were put together, there would be bigger and better things waiting for us." I said.

"What have you all been doing for five years?" Louis asked. "Staying home and sulking? Not knowing what to do with your lives?"

"Speak for yourself." Harry stood up and stormed out of the room. "This has gone way too far." Niall said, following Harry out of the room. I was left with Louis and Zayn. I still had a little bit of hope that Zayn would have faith that we could get back together. "Are you going to leave too?" Zayn asked.

"Niall's right. There isn't hope for us to be together as a band." I said, leaving the room. There was a lobby in the studio building where Harry and Niall sat. Simon and Paul were walking towards our direction. "Why aren't you three in the studio?" Paul asked.

"We can't work with them. There's no hope for us to be One Direction again." Niall answered.

"I give up." Harry sighed, slouching in his seat.

"Have you even tried talking to them?" Simon asked.

"We did try. They're not cooperating." I replied, sitting down across from Harry and Niall. Simon and Paul looked at each other before entering the room. "What are we going to do now?" Niall asked.

"What can we do? There's no hope anymore." Harry said. Harry had to be hurt the most out of all of us. He was the one who still believed that we can still achieve greater things as a band. He thought that he would be able to persuade all of us to be friends and to be together again.

"We'll just have to prove them wrong. We'll have to prove that our fans still love us after five years." I said.

"How are we going to prove that?" Niall asked.

"We ask the fans ourselves." I told him.
