28. Corradites

Micha stood there frozen from knowing what she just did. She just gave away that she was half angel! She then noticed Alex stroll up to her with a slight smile in his lips.

"Wow. Just wow... You looked... Incredible. My little angel." he said with a sprinkle of astonishment in his voice. Micha blushed and kissed him gently. Their kiss was then ripped as Aldrin shouted from across the field.

"What I want to know is when did you become a Corradite Michaela?" Jess then looked at Aldrin in confusion.

"Excuse me, a what?" Micha replied.

"Yes, a what?" Jess butted in.

"A Corradite. A race of humans that are half angel. And also, when did you learn corradine?" he muttered as he pushed Alex to one side off of Micha. Micha still gawked at him in utter bewilderment.

"Aldrin, you're making no sense! Just explain all in one please?" Aldrin sighed and changed back into his human form; he didn't need his wolf form for now.

"Right, Corradites are either born naturally or are casted upon a regular human with ancient magic. And corradine is the language they speak. The language of angels. The language of the Heavens. So I'll ask again, where did you learn that language and how long have you been a Corradite?" Micha looked to one side and then downwards at her feet. She spoke nervously.

"Th-that witch's sister told me the words. I didn't know what they meant, I just copied her. But it seems to of worked, judging by the fact that the portal is shut."

"Well what you said was 'For blessings. Demon's delight and horror. Be banished and burn. End away!'. Yes, I learned corradine as a Skylord. But when corradine is spoken by a real Corradite, they can do almost the impossible." Micha's heart skipped a beat. Almost the impossible? Wait!

"Aldrin! Does that mean I can raise the dead?!" Aldrin shook his head in response.

"I said almost. Raising the dead is impossible I'm afraid." Micha's face fell. "Right, speaking of the dead, let us take any of the dead we can find and take them back to Zunlaya. We are victorious this day but we have lost many..." The few knights that were left hurried and picked up their loved and perished. Lions lay with their mains snipped and shredded. Battle ready men with their blood oozing out of the cracks and chinks in their armor. A sight that was horrific, to the point where some of the men could not bare to see their mangled comrades. Yet, they carried on and placed the dead on a cart for any of the cavalry that were left to push. The seventeen men that remained, including Micha, Jess, Aldrin and Alex rode on any steeds that could walk so they could march back home in crushing victory. Whilst the rest kept moving onward, Aldrin paused for a moment and turned around to look over the battlefield one last time. The sun dwindled behind the clouds, leaving the sky and painting it a mix of yellow, orange and white. The flags blew in breeze as they worshiped the glorious dead.
