39. section 39

"There is no way that we are going to win." Whitewolf said as I finally got to the group poor Ti was on her own at the side of a cliff that was looking over the battle field. I know that she is traumatized by that this war has brought to us.

"I know." Arrow said joining Ti and quietly pulling. "But I don't want to leave but if I stay the tribe would be at stake." Arrow said then she spotted Heflin. "But she is going to be left behind." Arrow said looking at Heflin dead in the eyes. I knew that Heflin has made an enemy out of Arrow but I wasn't prepared for a complete betrayal.

"Arrow." I whispered in her ear. I was ready to defend Heflin if necessary. The only thing I have that is worth the argument is the conversation that Heflin and I had moments ago, and I know how much trust Arrow throws on one's shoulders is close to dust on a filthy pedestal. "She is the only key I have to my past and remember what I have said."

"But!" Arrow retaliated but Ti came forward and looked Arrow in the eyes.

"They are hunting US and YOUR people are dying and I am already tired of seeing war!" She cried. Ti is right we are all tired of seeing this. Plus the tribe can't win when they are up against guns. The solders would fallow them like bugs to a light. Fair looked stunned at what Ti just did while Heflin gave a satisfying smirk.

"She is right Arrow. It is your tribe on the line, including us and you know well that we came too far to turn back. I may be physically blind but that doesn't mean I can't see what is happening." Steel said steeping forward and holding his black cat gently in his arms. Arrow silently looked over the battlefield as her body drooped silently.

"Your right. There is no point arguing when what we cause is death. She may come." Arrow huffed. "But I will stay behind and help the tribe. I have left once in a time of need and I still feel guilty."

"Don't. You had no choice but to leave. You saved our home when you did." Whitewolf said. "And you will save everyone when you leave. Now go." Arrow looked away, she knew that she has lost again in the arguments. She went through the whole that we made and I knew that she made sure that she bumped into Heflin and me, showing her flaming hatred as she stopped in front of Whitewolf. "My match." She said as she kissed him in front of everyone.

"I will take care of everyone now go." He said as they parted. "And remember your name will find it's target."

"I know." Arrow said and then walked a few steps ahead of us then looked back. She looked really sad and wanting to stay but for some odd reason I wanted her to. Heflin had only been my comrade for only a few minutes but she is the only connection to my past and there is many extra wheals in the mix that doesn't help with the situation at all. Friar just gave me a quick glance of concern as we went on to wherever we need to be now.

"Don't worry." Was the only words I could say to him but couldn't say more.
